How to Survive as a Princess in a Reverse Harem Game - Chapter 69
“……She has been going around making chunks of metal at the forge?”
—Yes.
Through the familiar shape of a butterfly, Cirilla’s voice echoed. Morris put on a serious face and rested his chin on his hand.
It had been four days since Nepheli suddenly got permission to leave the palace and started wandering around. And it had also been four days since he had sent Cirilla to spy on her.
Wasn’t it suspicious that a girl who hadn’t stepped outside the palace in years suddenly wanted to go out? Especially when Evgenia was paying attention to her.
‘There’s definitely something going on.’
Despite sending her to spy, there hadn’t been much to report. According to Cirilla, on the first day, Nepheli had just been chatting with her guardians and then went to the distribution center, where she tried the free medicine given to the commoners and spat it out.
‘I’ve heard that the taste of that medicine was awful, but…… is it really that bad?’
Of course, Morris had no intention of even trying it. He hadn’t, and he wouldn’t in the future either.
It was more than enough that the royal family was looking after the health of the commoners. Why would he bother worrying about the taste of free medicine they were handing out?
‘She’s really changed. Why would she even eat it?’
Nepheli’s strange behavior didn’t end there. After visiting the royal forge, she had also stopped by a blacksmith’s shop outside the palace.
Even Morris, with all his power, couldn’t easily reach the royal forge. So, he couldn’t find out what kind of request Nepheli had made.
The only thing he could learn was through the reports from Cirilla’s espionage. Nepheli had made a request not just at the royal forge but also at a blacksmith’s shop in the capital, and because of that, Morris had a vague idea of what she was making. But even after hearing about the items, he still couldn’t believe it.
‘Why on earth is she making chunks of metal?’
He couldn’t figure out Nepheli’s thinking at all. It was hard to dismiss it as just a strange whim—there was something unsettling about it.
“Alright, I got it.”
At Morris’s words, Cirilla cut off the magic power flowing to the familiar. The butterfly-shaped figure fluttered and slowly vanished.
‘Chunks of metal…….’
It was clear that Nepheli was planning to use them for something, but what exactly was she trying to use them for?
‘Should I have Equus Cecil look into it?’
To spend the budget, it would still need approval from Evgenia, so the paperwork would have to be submitted. That meant Evgenia would find out about it.
Once Evgenia laid eyes on Equus Cecil, she would inevitably reveal something with just a little coaxing.
It was all thanks to his face that a humble commoner like him could join the Cecil family and even become a Duke.
With the plan in mind, Morris made his way toward the palace where Equus was staying.

“Thea, I really didn’t want to ask you this.”
“Hm?”
I looked back at Reno, holding the chunk of metal I had received from the village blacksmith. Reno nodded toward the butterfly floating unnaturally high in the air. It was Cirilla’s familiar.
“Are you really going to let it report everything like this?”
“Of course. I told it to.”
“Is it okay if Duke Morris finds out?”
“He’ll find out anyway. If I’m going to use the national budget, I’ll need to let Her Majesty Evgenia know.”
“That’s true, but…….”
“Besides, if we try to hide it, wouldn’t they watch us even more intensely? That’s human psychology. The more you try to hide something, the more people want to dig into it.”
“Like you, Thea?”
“That’s…… huh? What am I hiding? What?”
I caught myself nodding unconsciously and looked at Reno in surprise.
“I’m just saying it.”
“As expected, Isaac, you can’t fool that guy’s intuition.”
Goodness. I thought he had noticed something.
I find Reno annoying as he smiles broadly, acting like nothing happened after startling me. I gave him a side-eye and continued speaking.
“Anyway…… It’s better to show them everything upfront and make them lose interest before they try to investigate in detail. Even better if they become too arrogant to figure it out properly.”
