How to Tame That Gentle Male Lead - Chapter 0.2
“Please, come in.”
“Yes, Luna.”
Resena followed Eldis inside. Rare flowers in full bloom wound around the glass walls of the greenhouse like ivy. Some climbed up trees… Other flowers grew straight and tall like sunflowers, proudly basking in the sunlight.
“What a splendid place. Truly befitting the glass greenhouse of Arnasus.”
Amidst the sparkling little suns, green foliage spread its branches.
Eldis smiled broadly and reached out to a green flower. As he gently touched the petals, he bowed his head to savor the fragrance. His blue eyes shimmered softly between his lowered white eyelashes.
Resena stood beside him and picked a green flower from the other side. Bringing the flower close, the delicate melody of its scent resonated with her heart. Closing her eyes was inevitable. Resena quietly inhaled the fragrance, hugging the bouquet of blue roses she had received tightly.
“Luna. Please take this to my bedroom.”
“Yes, understood, my lady.”
As Head Maid Luna disappeared with the bouquet of blue roses, the maids set up tea and refreshments on the table in the center of the greenhouse. On the three-tiered tray placed on the right were quiches that Resena liked.
After savoring the fragrance, Resena opened her eyes. Eldis was looking down at her with a gentle expression. Feeling somewhat shy, Resena avoided his gaze. Eldis chuckled softly and gently took hold of her hair, kissing the ends lightly.
“Resena seems to get shy easily. You’re so beautiful. I wish you’d show this side only to me.”
“Eldis…”
“Yes, call me that. When we’re not with others, I am simply Eldis to you. Look at me directly, Resena.”
His eyes shimmered like a blue tidal wave. Unable to fully meet his passionate gaze, she closed her eyes, and he laughed quietly.
“Resena. Would you like to take a tour around the greenhouse? It’s too magnificent to just see the entrance. Would you allow me to escort you around this greenhouse?”
Feeling her heart pounding more intensely, Resena listened dreamily to his gentle voice. Despite a bit of hesitation, Eldis smiled and looked only at her.
“Yes, of course, Eldis. Shall we go then?”
“Thank you for allowing me.”
How could she possibly refuse him?
Resting her hand on Eldis’s arm, Resena walked slowly. As he adjusted his pace to her small steps, it was easy to walk. Thus, even while looking at the trees, she kept glancing at Eldis.
Ah, truly, Eldis was a beautiful person. From his sharply defined nose and deep eye sockets to his vividly blue eyes shining like the summer sea, nothing was out of proportion in terms of beauty.
‘Such beautiful lips…’
Moreover, the shape of his lips was so lovely that it stirred a desire to kiss them. However, she didn’t have the courage to initiate a kiss with Eldis.
Therefore, Resena simply blushed and turned her gaze back to the trees.
“Resena.”
“Yes, Eldis.”
He spoke with a tender face.
“I noticed earlier you were picking flowers one by one. How about gathering them into a bouquet? It would be quite beautiful. Even though they are rare flowers, there are two or three of each kind planted here, so it shouldn’t be burdensome.”
“Really? Then I’ll ask for scissors so I can pick a variety.”
“Yes, that sounds like a good idea.”
Upon her request, a maid quickly brought garden scissors. Since the scissors were quite large, Eldis reached out with a smile.
“Give them to me. I’ll cut them for you, and you just point them out.”
“Oh… Is that okay?”
“Of course. It brings me joy to have the pleasure of giving you flowers. Don’t hesitate to tell me what you want, and I’ll do my best to fulfill it.”
Truly, how could anyone resist such words of courtship?
Resena blushed brightly. Perhaps finding her expression cute, Eldis smiled as he cut the flower Resena had been about to pick.
Snip, snip.
While cutting the flowers, one must be careful of thorns. However, Eldis’s hands bore no injuries. By covering his hands with aura, thorns couldn’t pierce him. Moreover, Eldis was a Grand Sword Master.
Resena thought again how wise it was to entrust him with the scissors as she pointed out each flower.
“They’re beautiful. When gathered like this… They’re even more gorgeous than when seen individually. If I make a round bouquet and place it in my bedroom, the fragrance will subtly fill the air while I read.”
“I’m glad you can enjoy it at your leisure. Anytime you want me to serve you, just let me know, Resena. No matter where I am or what situation I’m in, I’ll come running to you.”
Resena gazed at Eldis’s lips, which spoke words sweeter than candy. They were lips that still made her want to kiss them. Embarrassed, she looked up. In the brief moment their eyes met, Resena read a deep affection for her.
What should she do?
Just meeting his gaze made her heart race. It felt like she was wringing herself out, so she placed her hand on her chest and took a deep breath. By then, Eldis had finished cutting the flowers she had pointed out.
‘It’s a happy date. But I can’t just stay like this. As much as I enjoy being with Eldis unless he changes completely, I can’t prevent the world’s destruction.’
As Sernaus said, I must give him imperfect advice.
But can I really do it well?
‘Even so… I have to.’
To prevent Eldis from wiping out all life in the zodiac with Sernaus’s light.
To ensure he doesn’t lose precious friends to dark wizards or murderers.
Resena quietly fell into contemplation. Her small mind was complicated. Excited emotions surged up, only to be quickly buried in rational logic. Finally, as Eldis placed a flower in her hair, Resena recalled the first time she met him.
The soft-touch seemed to give her courage.
Blinking her eyes, Resena gazed at Eldis.
“Eldis.”
“Yes, Resena.”
Resena slowly began to recall their time together.
The vivid efforts of several regressions and until she stood in this place.
“……”
She advised Eldis, and how that advice had an effect.
And gathering all these thoughts, she finally spoke.
