How to Tame That Gentle Male Lead - Chapter 3.2
***
Leisurely time passed by.
And so, after finishing her work, she went out to the garden and was flipping through a design book.
Resena was deeply contemplating what clothes to wear at the summer ball and what impression would be most suitable for her performance to give to people.
‘To give a sense of trust, I need to dress glamorously befitting a duke’s daughter, but not too revealing. A dress that can dominate the venue would be most appropriate. And lace gloves on the hands.’
That would make her look pure. Let’s make her look beautiful yet admirable to everyone. Resena fixed her eyes on the design book left by the designer.
She liked best the one with light-colored lace covering the upper body, and the lower part gathered in places with blue roses as accents.
Marking that page, Resena called for Del.
“Yes, Young Miss.”
“Contact designer Mores and ask him to make the dress exactly like this. Use the previous measurements, but tell him to make the waist a bit looser.”
“Understood.”
“Oh, and bring the shoe design book too, so I can choose matching shoes.”
“Yes, I’ll do that.”
The personal maid hurried away. Resena leaned back on the sofa, enjoying the leisurely time. The breeze under the gazebo’s shade gently ruffled her hair.
As Resena was leisurely enjoying the garden while sipping iced lemonade, Renard came out of the training ground and approached her.
“Sis.”
“Yes, Renard.”
Renard, who never missed a day of training, was the epitome of a diligent Sword Master, except for his habit of oversleeping. Resena smiled brightly as she gazed at her cute younger brother.
“Did you train today too?”
“Yes. The more you practice basic postures, the better. It wouldn’t look good for a Sword Master’s sword strikes to be all over the place.”
“Hehe.”
Resena grinned and offered her younger brother some lemonade.
“Thanks. I’ll enjoy it.”
Renard, seemingly thirsty, downed it in one go. Then he crunched on the ice. As she watched her brother with gentle eyes, she suddenly recalled how Renard had sobbed when she was imprisoned during the last regression.
‘My little brother is truly too kind.’
No matter what was said, the Arnasus family members were always kind and affectionate to each other. Having experienced the care of her family members through three regressions, Resena had no desire to follow the route that led to being estranged from her family and imprisoned.
‘This time, I’ll do it perfectly. I’ll make sure neither the Tebas Guild nor the black magician Zergard can influence anything.’
“By the way, Renard. How is His Highness the Crown Prince these days?”
“Ah. His Highness left for the Ser territory a few days ago. A monster wave opened again, so he went to close the monster gate that opened there.”
“The Ser territory…”
“That’s right. It’s where a monster wave opened before, and he closed the gate himself.”
Resena tilted her head.
She knew that a monster wave would open in the Ser territory around this time before the regression, but he hadn’t gone there personally. It wasn’t on such a large scale.
‘But for some reason, Eldis led the army to the Ser territory himself…’
Could what I said in the garden have influenced him?
‘Well, it’s not an event that brings him closer to the female lead.’
There’s probably no need to worry about it. Dealing with a monster wave would only earn him another military medal. It wasn’t a suitable place for meeting Lorona and singing a love serenade.
“It hasn’t even been a month since he last went on an expedition, and he’s gone again. The position of Crown Prince isn’t easy.”
“That’s true. I actually thought about going along to the Ser territory.”
“But?”
“I was worried about you, sis. In case something came up with the Tebas Guild matter, you know.”
“Renard…”
What should I do with this kind brother?
Resena unconsciously reached out her hand. But Renard flinched and stepped back, fluttering the collar of his shirt.
“I’m sweaty, so if you pat my head, your hand will get sweaty. I need to go wash up. Are you going to stay here, sis?”
“Hmm… I’ve finished all the paperwork, and now I just need to prepare for the summer ball. I’m just taking it easy and resting.”
“I see. I’m going to buy some landscape paintings at Mother’s request in a bit. Want to come along?”
Resena’s eyes sparkled.
“Yes, I’d love to. I’ve also become interested in the works of a sculptor named Vernas.”
“Vernas? Isn’t that the sculptor who’s been causing a stir recently? You can’t buy that artist’s works even with money, where are you planning to find them?”
“Ah… Is it that bad? Mother said something similar, but I didn’t know they were all sold out to the point where you can’t even see the exhibited works.”
