I Became a Barbarian's Bride - Chapter 100
Kagan, looking somewhat perplexed, rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward expression
Nisha tilted her head.
“What is it?”
“I was wondering if you could heal someone.”
“Yes, I will.”
“They’re seriously hurt… wait, what?”
“I’ll heal them. Where are they? Do I need to go right away?”
The simplicity of her answer made all of Kagan’s earlier hesitation about how to explain the situation seem pointless.
Kagan, taken aback, stared at her for a moment with a slightly puzzled expression, his brow furrowing.
“You didn’t even hear the details.”
“The answer would be the same anyway, so I didn’t think it mattered… But if you need me to listen, I will.”
Kagan let out a sigh as he looked at Nisha.
Perhaps it was because the cost of her powers didn’t seem like much to her compared to their magnitude, but she often treated her abilities as if they were nothing.
“Nisha, using your powers is something you need to think about more carefully. You’re not giving such simple answers to others who ask for your help, right?”
“Hmm, even if you say that, you’re the only one who ever asks me for such favors, Kagan.”
At her words, Kagan slowly raised his hand and rubbed his face.
“You really know how to say the most beautiful things.”
Kagan buried his face in the nape of Nisha’s neck, inhaling the faint scent of soap before lightly kissing her.
“Recently, the neighboring countries have been making quite a bit of noise. Even the ones outside our borders have started showing interest. So, I organized a small unit to assess the situation and sent them out somewhere.”
“Yes.”
“I sent out ten men, but only one came back yesterday.”
At Kagan’s words, Nisha’s eyes widened slightly.
Since she had slept the entire day yesterday, she hadn’t known anything had happened.
“What about the others?”
“Well, I’m not sure, but it seems there was a battle. The one who came back is in critical condition right now.”
At his words, Nisha frowned.
It wasn’t good news.
“So, we haven’t received any report about what happened or what’s going on. Which is why…”
“Yes, I can heal him.”
Nisha nodded lightly before speaking again.
“I’ll change clothes and then we can go…”
“No, after you change, you should eat first.”
“But… you said it was urgent.”
“I’m more worried about your health after you went a whole day without food. That man is a warrior, but you… you’re the only moon of this country.”
At his corny words, Nisha’s face flushed slightly.
“Don’t forget, as long as I am king, you are the only moon that shines in my sky.”
Kagan awkwardly added another remark.
What is he even talking about? Embarrassed, Nisha rubbed her face and nodded.
“I’ll call the maids and get dressed first.”
Kagan chuckled quietly as he watched his wife, who averted her gaze while answering, and nodded.
“Alright, I’ll call the maids for you. I’ll wait outside.”
“Oh, thank you.”
Nisha started to bow her head but, catching his eyes, froze for a moment and awkwardly smiled, quickly changing her gesture to a small wave.
Kagan, looking quite satisfied, smiled charmingly as he left the room.

By the time Nisha, having reluctantly finished her meal at Kagan’s insistence, arrived where his subordinate was, the place was in complete chaos.
The atmosphere was frantic, with a couple of doctors hurriedly checking on the man’s condition. His state was a mess, to say the least.
How much of a mess? It was enough to leave one speechless.
His body was in such a wrecked state that it was hard to tell if he was even still alive.
Blood and pus oozed from wounds all over his body.
His face was sunken and crushed, as if he had endured something beyond ordinary.
Nisha, startled by the sight, froze in place.
Kagan frowned, pressing his palm against his eyes before gently pushing her back.
“Nisha, step back for now.”
“But…”
Nisha turned her head to look at the man.
She could feel how fragile his breaths were, barely hanging on.
