I Became a Barbarian's Bride - Chapter 29
“I’m not sure if you can endure the climate, Mash.”
“I-It’s okay! W-With the Princess gone… I’d be useless here a-anyway….”
As Mash’s voice gradually faded, Nisha silently reached out and gently grasped the boy’s hand.
When Mash flinched, Nisha slowly shook her head.
“Princess, did they say you could bring knights to Xieman?”
“He said I could bring two or three people I wanted. They mentioned there would be a period of monitoring, though….”
“In that case, I would like to go as well.”
“Rad, what about your mother and sister?”
“…Actually, when your marriage to Xieman was decided, we began preparing to move to another country near Xieman. Anyway… staying in this country….”
Rad hesitated, glancing around nervously, but Nisha easily understood what he meant.
The Emperor was already out of his mind, and the nobles were busy lining their own pockets.
The country would only become more chaotic, and she had heard that more and more citizens were fleeing in the dead of night.
With Xieman’s presence, all forces were concentrated in the capital, making it the perfect time to escape.
So, if anyone were to be smuggled out, now, with Xieman still present, would be the best time.
“…Alright, do as you wish.”
Nisha didn’t argue with Rad’s decision. It must have been a well-thought-out choice.
“Then I’ll prepare for the departure.”
Having received Nisha’s permission, Rad spoke with a much brighter expression.
Nisha slowly nodded.
“And may I ask one favor? I’d like you to keep my situation in Roshan a secret in Xieman. If they find out I’m worthless as a hostage, they might….”
“Of course. I’ll keep it absolutely secret.”
At Mary’s words, Nisha smiled and nodded.
After expressing her gratitude, she took a deep breath.
Two more days.
Finally, she would be saying goodbye to this wretched country.

On the day Nisha and the Xieman delegation departed, surprisingly, all the royal family and nobles came out to see them off.
It was likely to avoid giving Xieman any cause for complaint, but to others, it seemed as if they were genuinely sad to see Nisha leave.
It was a favorable misunderstanding for Nisha.
A month after their departure, villages that had been frequent sightings began to appear sporadically. A month and a half in, the climate grew harsher, and the land became more barren.
Unbeknownst to her at the time, was that it only took a month for the Xieman delegation to travel from Xieman to Roshan.
And among the Xieman delegation, some, including Kagan, who found even that too slow, had taken only three weeks to make the journey. Considering they were taking two months to return, it must have seemed quite frustrating from their perspective, but surprisingly, no complaints or grievances were heard, which was a bit unexpected.
“How is your body, Your Highness?”
“I’m fine.”
“There are only a few days left, so please hold on a little longer, Your Highness.”
“Yes.”
Nisha was making sure to take extra care of her health so as not to cause any delays along the way.
With the weather turning chilly, Kagan had wrapped her up in some thick leather. Thanks to eating regularly, sleeping well, and taking adequate rest, she had made it this far without any major issues.
“Tomorrow, we’ll arrive at the last village before entering Xieman’s capital.”
“I see.”
“Yes, from there, it’s Xieman. It’s a village at the edge of Xieman.”
Kagan said with a rounded smile.
“By the way, the people you brought along seem to be quite resilient. They’re holding up better than I expected.”
Kagan glanced at the three people mingling with Xieman soldiers, helping with dinner preparations.
One maid, one stuttering stable boy, and lastly, one low-ranking knight.
It was indeed a rather humble selection for a noble princess.
‘Well, considering she’s altruistic enough to secretly play the role of a saint…’
