I Became a Barbarian's Bride - Chapter 53
She didn’t even look back, not expecting him to follow. Already far down the hallway, she moved without a glance behind.
Kagan, feeling a strange sensation, pressed and rubbed his nape a few times before quickly striding after her.
Tatar, watching him, sighed and looked at the still-closed bathroom door.
“How long are you going to stay in there, Orga?”
At her sigh-laden words, the door clicked open.
“Can I hug you?”
He looked so rugged and large, like someone who could take down a beast with his bare hands…
‘Well, he does take them down with his bare hands.’
Even at forty, she couldn’t understand how he always turned into a child in front of her.
Seeing the man, once known as the embodiment of charisma and malice who had once swept through Xieman, with reddened eyes, she quietly extended her arms.
Orga, taking a few quick steps, knelt to meet her gaze and then dove into her embrace.
Even though Tatar wasn’t exactly small for a woman, she was still a head shorter than Orga.
Yet, there he was, this massive man awkwardly trying to fit into her embrace. With a short sigh, he pulled her onto the bed with him.
“I thought I’d never see your eyes again. That day… if I hadn’t chosen you, this wouldn’t have happened…”
“How long are you going to drag out something that happened almost 30 years ago?”
Tatar murmured as she hugged his head.
“Instead of that… Now that I can see you properly again, are you just going to let this moment pass?”
At her words, Orga’s cheek twitched. The desire and greed quickly filling his eyes made Tatar’s lips curl into a gentle smile.
“…Are you sure? I might not be able to stop halfway.”
Even as he asked softly, his hands, already full of desire, slowly slipped under her clothes.
He buried his nose in Orga’s neck and took a deep breath.
“Orga. I think I understand why Adin took my sight.”
His wandering hands paused for a moment. Orga frowned and looked up.
“What do you mean?”
“There’s too much to see with my eyes… If I could capture the world and the future with my sight, I would have gone mad. I would have had to carry the joys and sorrows of people who would be affected by every word I said.”
“Titi…”
“The new Tun… seems to fear people. I wonder if Kagan will handle it well.”
Tatar whispered softly as she wrapped her arms around Orga’s neck and kissed him.
Tatara’s relatively fair skin, compared to the people of Xieman, was once much darker.
She had become fair-skinned after taking on the heavy duties of being a Tun. She had lost her sight and was confined indoors.
“Our work is done. The rest is up to Kagan and our new daughter-in-law. Of course, I plan to reward our new daughter-in-law for her commendable deeds.”
“Stop being so cold to everything except me. Kagan is your son.”
“Titi, you’re kind to everyone except me, so it balances out. Besides, we will be going on an outing soon.”
Tatara narrowed her eyes at Orga’s actions as he ignored everything else and kissed her neck.
That was the problem with Xieman royalty. They were obsessively attached to their own but indifferent to everything else.
Whether she narrowed her eyes or not, Orga, loving even her reactions, continued to kiss her. Eventually, Tatara gave in and slowly closed her eyes.
