I Became a Barbarian's Bride - Chapter 71
At Nisha’s words, Kagan’s eyes slightly widened.
“Someone you know?”
“No, I’ve just heard of her. I heard that Princess Rose would be visiting the banquet.”
It would be good to maintain a friendly relationship with her, so it was better to treat her nicely.
Roshan was a place where monogamy was standard, so it was still hard for her to understand the idea of having seven husbands.
“They’re good people.”
“Yes.”
Kagan’s brief explanation ended, and not long after, two people appeared.
Though their attire was different from Xieman’s style, it was also quite distinct from Roshan’s.
It was lighter than the clothes worn by Roshan nobles but covered much more of the body compared to the clothes worn by Xieman’s nobles.
“It’s been a while. Rose, Rigoran.”
“It’s been a while, Kagan!”
A woman with voluminous pink hair fluttering about lifted the hem of her flowing dress and rushed toward Kagan, throwing her arms around his neck as she clung to him.
Nisha’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of her bold action.
“It’s been so long. I missed you.”
Clinging to him, she kissed Xieman on the cheek.
Xieman let out a low laugh, gently hugged her back, then effortlessly lifted her and set her down with a light thud.
‘Ah…’
So that’s the expression he normally makes.
It was clear now—he must have been displeased when she touched him earlier.
Nisha pressed her chest, squeezing it for a moment, and then slowly released the tension in her hands.
Seeing it so clearly like this was better. At least now, she wouldn’t have even the smallest hope.
Trying her best to ignore the dull ache in her heart, Nisha took a deep breath and forced a smile onto her lips.
“Hey, Rose. Kagan’s married now, so don’t cling to him like that anymore.”
The man with similarly pink hair furrowed his brow and pulled Princess Rose back toward him, scolding her.
“What? I was just saying hello. It’s the same greeting I’ve always given him.”
“That was then, but now he’s married.”
Though not as tall as Kagan, the man was still a head taller than Rose. After lightly scolding her, he turned toward Nisha.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Crown Prince Rigoran Goren of the Kingdom of Goren. I’ve been a close friend of the Kagan’s since childhood. I never expected he’d be the first to marry, but it’s an honor to meet such a beautiful lady.”
His words flowed smoothly without hesitation. As he extended his hand, Nisha placed hers atop his, palm down, and spoke.
“Oh, it’s a pleasure to meet you as well. Please, call me Nisha.”
Unsure if she should use the name “Xieman” as her surname, she introduced herself simply, inviting him to call her by her first name instead.
The handsome man had strikingly delicate features, though his beauty was of a different kind than Kagan’s.
If Kagan could be described as “handsome,” then Rigoran was closer to “pretty.”
“I’ve heard you came from Roshan. Though I’ve only heard snippets, I imagine you’ve gone through a great deal.”
Rigoran Goren spoke as he kissed the back of Nisha’s hand with courteous grace.
His words were so considerate that Nisha’s eyes widened slightly in surprise.
“Though Sir Kagan may seem rough, clueless, and dull on the outside, I can assure you he’s a good person. Please, take care of him.”
“Oh, thank you for your kind words. You’re very considerate, Crown Prince.”
“Please, just call me Rigor. Goren is my sister’s surname as well, and everyone finds ‘Rigoran’ too long to say.”
With a warm and polite laugh, his tone soft, Nisha found herself smiling gently and nodding in return.
“Rigoran, how long do you plan on holding her hand?”
Kagan’s voice cut in beside them, and Rigoran withdrew his hand with a casual shrug.
“Rose, introduce yourself.”
At Rigoran’s prompting, a cute, somewhat sulky-looking girl marched forward, lifted her dress slightly, and gave a small bow.
“I’m Rose Goren, the only princess of Goren. I’ve been friends with Xieman since we were three years old. We’ll be living under the same roof soon, so let’s get along well.”
Her words were as direct as they were bold, leaving Nisha slightly tilting her head in surprise.
“Rose!”
Rigoran, now flustered, raised his voice in shock.
