I Became a Barbarian's Bride - Chapter 83
“Was I a burden?”
“A burden?”
Kagan chuckled as if he had heard something absurd and shook his head.
“Not at all. You only say that because you don’t realize what you’ve done for Xieman.”
There was an excited tone in his voice, which made Nisha tilt her head slightly.
“Are the crops growing well?”
“Growing well? They’re already about to bear fruit.”
“Already?”
Though her life force had the ability to accelerate plant growth, it hadn’t even been five days—far too short a time for such results.
When she first arrived in Xieman and shared her life force with the village, it took them a month just to estimate the harvest period. But this? In just five days? It was unimaginable.
‘Well… I did lose all the life force I spent 24 hours replenishing.’
She couldn’t even begin to estimate how much life force had been poured into that small plot of land.
Nisha pressed her temples a couple of times to ease the throbbing pain and exhaled slowly.
“Are you pleased?”
“Yes, I never imagined that such green trees could grow in Xieman. Or that such beautiful flowers could bloom.”
At the sound of his voice, Nisha slowly nodded.
Her voice, however, held neither joy nor excitement.
It was somewhat dry, and upon hearing it, Kagan cautiously observed her.
After all, he still had many things to thank her for.
“Would you like to see it?”
“No, it’s fine. How are your eyes?”
“Ah, strangely enough, ever since the day you used your healing power on the fields, my eyes haven’t hurt at all. They’ve been fine.”
“That’s a relief.”
Only after hearing his response did Nisha’s expression brighten as she nodded more readily.
“Then, could I ask you for a favor?”
“Hmm? Of course. Feel free to ask anytime.”
Having given more than enough in return, Nisha, now more at ease, began to speak.
“I need some seeds for the flowers and plants I want to grow in the garden. Could you get them for me?”
“Sure. Write down what you need when you have time, and I’ll make sure they get it.”
“Thank you. And when will Mary finish her training?”
“I’m not exactly sure, but I heard it should take about a month.”
“What about Rad and Mash…?”
“Ah, you must be curious. I don’t know the details, but I’ll look into it and let you know.”
Nisha’s face brightened further as she nodded at Kagan’s words.
Nisha raised her hand and rubbed her cheek a few times. Her hands still felt numb, as if every drop of blood and piece of flesh had been drained from them.
“I’m sorry I could only manage one that day. Once my healing power is recharged, I’ll…”
“No, the aftermath of the power you used that day covered about a quarter of the Capital.”
Kagan said as he abruptly pulled back the curtains. Nisha’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of the lush green trees in the distance.
Though they were far away and their shapes were not clearly visible, there was definitely a greenness that hadn’t been there before.
Xieman had always seemed somewhat barren and desolate, but now, a part of the capital visible from the fortress was distinctly green.
Finding the sight more pleasant than she had expected, Nisha slowly inhaled.
“I’m curious… Xieman is said to have a god, right?”
“Yes, Adin is said to bestow blessings upon us.”
“Is Adin possibly in the form of a child?”
Nisha slowly blinked as she asked.
If it wasn’t just her imagination, she thought she might have seen that special being.
Something towering on the volcano, incredibly far away, where under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t have noticed anything at all.
It had no eyes, ears, or nose—its form was unrecognizable—but even so, she felt as if it was staring directly at her.
At Nisha’s words, Kagan, who had momentarily frozen, slowly nodded.
“There is a legend that Adin takes such a form.”
