I Became A Renowned Arts Genius At My Arts High School - Chapter 5
Yoonhee sighed again.
She had been exaggerating, but Yoonhee was one of the students with the best drawing skills. Even after dividing detailed majors into Korean painting, Western painting, sculpture, and design, and having a common drawing exam, you could know the entire grade rank, and Yoonhee was always among the top 5 out of 138 students in the art department. Of course, Soohyun was the undisputed first, but still.
“Don’t be nervous. If you do as usual, there won’t be any problems.”
Yoon-hee picked up the spoon she was eating bibimbap with a determined expression.
“So, don’t be nervous. There’s a big difference between those who are really nervous during exams and those who aren’t. Some people don’t do half as well as I do on the test, while others do 300% better than usual, like Kim Hayoung.”
Yeah, Kim Hayoung.
It was the name that Soohyun had been recalling since earlier.
Back then, she didn’t know. She didn’t know that students like Kim Hayoung would cheat, and some of the seemingly high-profile artists among the teachers actively engaged in it.
“Hey, is there anything in the world that can’t be done with money? It’s not that it can’t be done with money; it’s just that there’s not enough money. Just give a bit more money, and there’s nothing that can’t be solved. That’s how a capitalist society works.”
In the fall semester just before graduating from college,
There was an incident where a heavily intoxicated Kim Hayoung confessed at a reunion of Sehyeon High School alumni.
She claimed that she had no intention of attending a Korean university and immediately enrolled in an art school in New York, but it was actually an admission assisted by a donation, and she confessed that she had done a lot of things with money while she was still at Sehyeon High School.
“You guys laughed a lot watching me prepare for exams, right?” She said, “Honestly, I already knew what would come out. How much time you could have saved if you actually knew what was coming and prepared for it, but you couldn’t sleep, you couldn’t rest, you couldn’t relax. Oh, how tough it was back then.”
At that time, Kim Hayoung bragged about bribing the practical art teacher Choi Hyung Uk and the sculptor teacher So Jinwoo with money, making the practical exam very easy. This memory was still vivid in Soohyun’s mind after returning to the past.
“What were the gypsum figures that appeared in our exam?” Soohyun asked casually.
While savoring the deliciously mixed tuna bibimbap, Soohyun continued.
“Huh. What’s wrong? Don’t you know the exam scope? Haven’t you prepared properly?”
“No, Agrippa, Venus, and Julian. Those three are definitely the basics. What else was in the medium gypsum? Caligula and Arias. That’s the correct order, right?”
The gypsum statues that appeared in the art college entrance exam were well-known, and Soohyun vaguely recalled and listed them. Yoonhee shook her head gently in response.
“Greek Lady (Amazon), Caesar, and in the small size, Seneca were added.”
“Oh, even Seneca.”
Soohyun nodded lightly.
The gypsum figure that appeared in the past 1st-year final painting exam was Caligula.
It was a crumpled gypsum statue that made time pass quickly, especially when you had to dig out the curly, permed hair. Trying to finish it on time would be tight, especially if you obsess over the folds of clothes.
It was challenging for a 1st-year student, quite demanding, as it was optimized for 3rd-year students.
Of course, if you only focused on that, even an average student could get a decent score.
And perhaps, Kim Hayoung, an average student, prepared for today’s exam by only crafting the Caligula gypsum for several days. These kinds of students, calm during exams and appearing to have an unyielding attitude advantageous in practice, were not actually like that.
Kim Hayoung. Just watch.
I’ll teach you that unfair backdoor dealings won’t work in this practical exam.
“Let’s get up,” Soohyun said with a cheerful smile.
“Huh?”
“We’ve finished eating. Let’s at least warm up a bit.”
“Oh, zen exercises? Sounds good. Let’s go.”
Having comfortably finished the tuna bibimbap, Yoonhee and Soohyun each grabbed a chocolate milk and headed to the snack bar.
Ssswick-
Arriving at the practical exercise, Soohyun looked around the classroom and made the first move to change her environment.
And shortly after, something astonishing happened that surprised everyone.
