I Became the Older Brother of a Villainess - Chapter 10.2
“You called the names of the young servants one by one, didn’t you?”
“Me?”
Upon recollection, it seemed like I had done that. It sounded like he was referring to the times when I checked the status window and called out their names.
“Was there a problem with that?”
“Oh no! Not a problem at all! In fact, it’s great. The kids come to me boasting that the master knows their names.”
Throughout the journey to the carriage, Dandel chattered away. It seemed like he was hinting that I had changed since the funeral. Since the person inside had changed, it was only natural that things would feel different now.
“You used to be a quiet person, not even making eye contact. I don’t know what changed you, but everyone seems a bit happier. Look at the number of people who came out to see you off earlier.”
“Even though I fired a bunch of my colleagues?”
“There must be a reason! How can we criticize what those in high positions do?”
“I’m just saying.”
Although I responded curtly, Dandel’s expression remained bright. It seemed like my reputation among the servants was fortunately improving as per my expectations. Things were turning out the way I wanted, right?
We had arrived at the carriage without realizing it. Dandel opened the door and stepped aside. Lifting my foot onto the carriage indifferently, I suddenly felt eerie and looked around.
“Why are you like that?”
“No, I just feel something strange…”
Shhh, a chilly wind swept through the garden. Unlike the carriage, illuminated by magic, the outside was entirely dark. Along the path we had taken, there was a strange sound. Clack, clack. It sounded like an animal stepping on the garden cobblestones.
“But there are two footsteps. Not an animal. Dandel, don’t you hear anything?”
“Huh? Sound? Well, yes. Uh, there’s a clacking sound or something.”
Clack! Reacting quickly to the sound that echoed again, I saw something shimmering not far away. A white, ethereal cloth fluttered. It was the long hair of a spirit dancing in the wind.
“Ghost, is it a ghost? Am I, as a sorcerer, seeing a ghost? Holding onto the door of the carriage, I was on high alert when the ghost started approaching, swaying back and forth. It wasn’t just me who noticed the ghost; Dandel grabbed a handful of my clothes.
“Master, master, could it be what you mentioned earlier?! Ahhh!”
Dandel clung to me as if she were going to crush my torso.
“Thud!”
More fearsome than the ghost was, indeed, physical strength. I skillfully broke free from the arms squeezing my torso, swatting them away.”
The ghost in a white dress approached us, emitting an overwhelming presence despite her shorter stature than expected.
I was still adapting to the role of a sorcerer. I still wanted to avoid encountering ghosts!
“Oh, big brother.” A ghost! No, it was my younger sister.
The ghost with long hair in a white dress was none other than Daria, dressed in sleepwear.
Well, even if I’m a sorcerer, I wouldn’t see a ghost on an entirely bare floor.
“Oh, sir. It seems you were surprised to see Lady Daria. I didn’t know the sir had such a side.”
“You’re the one who startled me with a sudden squeeze.”
I sighed deeply and patted Daria.
Daria was wearing a white pajama that didn’t suit her genre at all. Children should wear colorful pajamas with animated characters.
Such designed clothes are suitable for someone who has been alive for a hundred years.
“Daria, what are you doing here? Did you come to see me off?”
Daria silently opened a giant book she was holding in her arms.
“A book? Did you chase me to show me this?”
A small nod was her response.
Dandel quickly brought a lantern. The illustrations in the book were as eerie as Daria in the moonlit night.
It was a monster in the form of a dragon. The head was larger than the body, adorned with rows of misaligned teeth resembling deep-sea fish. Each intricately drawn scale was sharpened, piercing into the flesh of its prey. The haphazardly added flowers and dresses on top were undoubtedly the work of Daria’s craftsmanship.
Moreover, there was a memo paper attached, appearing as if someone had written it themselves, covering the description of the monster.
=================
Rainbow-colored Dream Lizard!
The rainbow-colored Dream Lizard is a princess shining in rainbow colors. It presents precious dreams to kind children who go to bed early at night. To meet the friendly lizard friend, Lady Daria should also go to bed early, shouldn’t she?

It was undoubtedly a paper attached to deceive Daria. Peeking under the paper, the name ‘Lecropathus, the Maniacal Dragon of Hallucination’ appeared instead of the Rainbow-Colored Dream Lizard. I stuck the paper back on. Cheer up, Muriel.
“So, after talking about lizards out of the blue, this is what you meant by a gift?”
“Gift.”
“To bring me to bring this as a gift? Well, that’s a bit… It seems problematic in various ways. It’s a complex and difficult spell. Don’t you want something else? Anything else would be fine. Toys, how about toys?”
“Gift.”
“Okay, okay. Toys it is then. You like colorful ones, right?”
I pushed the book toward Daria. She stood her ground stubbornly.
“Gift.”
“I’m not here for playtime.”
“Gift.”
“I can’t just fetch everything you want. I also have my principles. Whether this dragon really exists or not, I don’t want to meet it.”
“Gift.”
“Argh! I don’t know! Fine! A lizard, then! Is that what you want?”
