I Became the Older Brother of a Villainess - Chapter 14.1
“Ugh!”
Without warning, I struck the face that abruptly appeared with my fist, forcefully pushing it away.
The hand that had struck him tingled. The head of the unknown man who had suddenly emerged tilted backward, but he didn’t collapse because he was gripping my collar.
“What… what did I just hit?”
I forcefully pulled his arm away, freeing me from the lingering hold on my collar. Even my heart, which had remained calm during the fight with the Viridis, now throbbed wildly, as if possessed.
“Who are you?”
As if seeking vengeance, I grabbed the man’s collar.
The chin that had been lowered slightly lifted.
He was a slightly dazed boy with a somewhat bruised face. Covered in dust from head to toe, his once-black hair had reached a point where it looked as gray as it did dirty.
Despite his youthful appearance, he was taller than me. His posture, thrown off balance by being caught by me, was awkward.
“What’s your game?”
I inquired, though I already had suspicions about his true identity.
“It’s Pippin.
Just by looking at the squishy blue eyes, you could tell. The one who threw the blade at Viridis’s forehead and suddenly attacked me, the warrior Pippin. Right, this guy.
Should I bring him down even in this state? Given his size, it feels like I might be the one pushed back.
Damn, is it already too late?
Pippin’s expression was hard to read – unsure if he was looking at me or just spacing out. He seemed a bit dazed, as if he’d had one too many drinks. Not likely, though. He mumbled something in a low voice.
“Sir took it… my leg…”
“Leg?”
“His eyes may be squinted, but his leg is intact.”
“I’m not talking nonsense.”
I released the collar I had been holding nervously. Pippin, still grumbling, turned his head towards Viridis. Somehow, his gaze seemed intense.
Let’s check the status or something.
=================
Name: Pippin
Occupation: Fierce Warrior
Personality: Wrath – Decreased accuracy, but constantly boosts attack power
Trait: Confirmation Kill – The final blow always proves to be fatal
=================
What’s this absurd explanation?
“A fierce warrior with a confirmation kill?”
Pippin’s figure had already distanced itself. As if forgetting about gravity, Pippin soared up to Viridis’s forehead. The sight of him pulling out the blade embedded in Viridis’s forehead and gripping it like a sword caught my eye.
A strange aura gathered around him. Thanks to still using the Black Eye skill, I could sense it visually as well.
A golden, evening-sun-like energy gathered around his arms. Viridis’s head was split in half in an instant.
“So, that’s what a confirmation kill is.”
A needlessly impressive trait.
Viridis’s green bodily fluid surged towards the sky, pouring down like rain. I used my hand to create shade, covering my forehead. The stench and the scorching energy enveloped the surroundings.
In the distance, villagers were seen rushing towards us, wielding agricultural tools. In the midst of them, someone staggered towards us, seemingly like Dandel.
“Hoped for an easy opponent. Should’ve thrown a few more blows earlier.”
As I sighed with regret, suddenly, I felt a presence standing beside me.
Unintentionally turning around, I found the spirit with a crimson-stained neck staring intently at me. Black hair flowed down to her waist, and her eyes were oddly twinkling. Her mouth… was smeared with strawberry-flavored whipped cream. Yes, that’s definitely whipped cream. Anyway, it must be whipped cream.
Absolutely not blood-stained foam…
The shadow that had been limping next to Pippin earlier turned out to be this spirit. For some reason, he was now glaring at me as if he could see through everything.
I pretended not to notice and stared straight ahead.
“Shall we try releasing our ant army or something…”
After reopening the door of death and summoning the sweet legion, I deactivated all skills. Although I’m sure I deactivated even the black eyes,
[“If you pretend not to notice… I’ll curse you…”]
A spirit approached me, glaring with glowing eyes. Even after deactivating the skill, the spirit was still visible. What in the world is going on?
Can the spirit you’ve made eye contact with once continue to be seen?
I hope not. I wanted to pretend not to know until the end. While seeing the spirit is part of a necromancer’s job, a necromancer still needs a time off. It’s not like I’m a 24-hour convenience store, obligated to constantly greet with “Welcome, I’m the necromancer.”
With squeaking legs, I walked towards Dandel. I added some unnecessary muttering.
“Oh, a demon, so scary. Demons are really frightening. We should hurry into the village.”
[Sweet Legion devoured Viridis’s legs… your loyal servant… I know everything…]
“Dandel! Hey, Dandel! Over here!”
[I know everything…]
The spirit persistently clung to me. I continued to walk pretending not to know, and I faced Dandel. Dandel embraced me with a tear-soaked face, making continuous sounds that I couldn’t tell were words or cries.
Glancing sideways, I noticed that the spirit had somehow moved towards Pippin.
Upon calming down and thinking a bit, it seemed there might be a connection between Pippin and the spirit. Both have black hair and blue eyes. Well, skin color is a tricky matter; the spirit’s paleness might not necessarily be an issue of race.
“Ugh, Your Grace, it was so frightening. That monster, ugh, collapsed right in front of me, ugh.”
“Calm down. If you get snot on my clothes, you’ll be thrown into prison.”
“Ughhh, Your Grace, but what you said was right.”
