I Became the Only Healer in the Academy - Chapter 12.1
Upon arriving home, Hayeon immediately summoned her secretary.
“You called, Miss?”
“Yeah, I took this footage today. How far can we go in publicizing this?”
“Just a moment. Can I check on it?”
“Yeah.”
The secretary promptly received the video from Hayeon for verification.
The video captured everything that happened at the mutated gate from start to finish.
The secretary meticulously and slowly reviewed the footage.
“How is it?”
“There doesn’t seem to be a major issue.”
“Really? So, what would be a minor problem, then?”
“Well, how should we proceed?”
Hayeon tapped her finger against her armrest in thought.
The secretary was well acquainted with Hayeon’s mannerisms.
The decision on how to handle it had already been made, and pondering over such minor differences was evidence of that.
“Should we use it as a warning?”
“Yes. Miss, may I ask you one thing?”
“What is it?”
“This ability… it’s not a combination, or is it…?”
When asked whether it was a combination, Hayeon let out a wry chuckle.
“Hah, a combination? He hasn’t done anything like that at all.”
“I thought someone with side effects from using their ability wouldn’t use it unless necessary, but this seems different.”
The secretary was genuinely surprised.
Who would willingly endure hellish pain to alleviate someone else’s?
“…Not just kind, he’s not foolish either.”
A faint smile graced Hayeon’s lips as she spoke.
“Seems like you’re quite delighted about that, huh?”
“…Enough chit-chat. Cut out the healing part, handle it well.”
“I’ll do it within appropriate boundaries.”
“Thanks.”
Hayeon had no intention of just letting this matter slide by.
She hadn’t done her part properly from the beginning, and that was why Seonghyun had to suffer so much.
‘Don’t just hand it over lightly.’
Upon arriving home, Seonghyun immediately concocted a potion.
“Take one of these.”
“What’s this?”
“What is it?”
His sister and mother looked at the vial containing an unknown-colored liquid, examining it curiously.
“Drink it if you only get hurt.”
“Simply drink it? Is this some sort of potion?”
“Yeah, just think of it like that.”
“…Really?”
At the mention of a potion, his sister displayed a quite surprised and puzzled expression, while his mother remained unaware of what a potion was.
“Potion? What’s a potion?”
“In simple terms, it’s something you drink when you get injured for healing.”
“Really? Just by drinking it?”
“Yes. It can easily treat minor injuries, and it’s not difficult to make, so feel free to use it.”
“Is there… any sort of side effect?”
The concern expressed by his mother wasn’t about the potential effects on herself but rather about what Seonghyun might face.
Knowing well about his side effects, it was a question directed at that.
“Don’t worry. There are no such issues with this.”
“…Okay, thank you.”
Though her expression was skeptical, she couldn’t refuse it, so his mother simply nodded.
“Oppa, did you see the news?”
“What news?”
“Wasn’t one of the professors at the academy disciplined? Anyway, they said he faced some sort of punishment. Don’t you know? You’re a student there.”
“Disciplined? Who?”
“Hwang… What was it? Check the video.”
Seonghyun immediately took out his phone and searched for the information his sister mentioned.
[Academy’s Professor Hwang Faces Probation for Neglect of Responsibility]
“Ho…”
If it was the academy’s Professor Hwang, as per Seonghyun’s memory, there was only Professor Hwang Ki-hyuk, his homeroom teacher.
[According to the video released by the academy, Professor Hwang was found to have failed in properly fulfilling his responsibilities in the recent students’ reprimand. Accordingly, the academy…]
“The video?”
Seonghyun quickly checked the recently uploaded video.
Although he used his abilities in the urgent situation, he felt a bit reluctant about publicly revealing his developed powers too soon.
“Phew, luckily.”
Thankfully, there were no scenes showing Seonghyun using his abilities in the video.
It was edited mainly focusing on the homeroom teacher’s statements.
“Once it’s already out there, it’s just a matter of time before it spreads. But rumors and massive video releases are on a different level.”
Seonghyun scrolled down to check the reactions.
-Is this really such a big deal?
↳ If he’s in a position of responsibility and acts that stupidly, it’s obviously a problem.
↳ It’s not even a disciplinary or dismissal, probation seems fair. It should instill some awareness in him.
Most of the opinions were critical of the professor’s behavior.
“How did it go before…”
Before his return, the homeroom teacher had shown a reaction similar to what was in the video, but his outcome was quite different from now.
In that video, the teacher had become a hero by saving even a few students from that hellish gate.
“But who on earth released the video…”
The difference from then and now was only the fact that Seonghyun had saved all the students, and the video was made public.
“Well… It’s not that important.”
Seonghyun tossed his phone onto the bed and then threw himself onto it too.
“I’m exhausted.”
It had been a while since the physical pain had subsided, but Seonghyun felt there was still a considerable amount of mental fatigue. As soon as he closed his eyes, he fell asleep.
