I Became the Only Healer in the Academy - Chapter 30.1
“Since there’s no need to go somewhere else, may I discuss it right here? Is that alright with you?”
“This seems more convenient.”
“Good.”
Sami got into the car and went straight to the point.
“Firstly… Would you take a look at this?”
“This is…”
Sami handed a brown envelope to Seonghyun.
Though it was an ordinary brown envelope, what was inside was an exceptionally rare document not commonly seen anywhere.
“This is a naturalization application for the United States.”
“A naturalization… application.”
While Seonghyun had anticipated the possibility of contacts elsewhere, experiencing direct interaction with the United States felt somewhat different.
As Seonghyun looked at the document envelope with a thoughtful expression, Sami became anxious.
Could bringing an application be taken as offensive, given that they might fall short even if Seonghyun begged for naturalization?
“Ah- it’s just a formality, think of it as a mere procedural step. The moment you sign this document, Hunter Kim Seonghyun will be immediately classified as a top-tier hunter with a new status.”
Sami’s expression, briefly explaining the contents of the document, exuded confidence.
How could any hunter refuse such a sweet offer?
Not just anywhere, but the top-ranked United States, and within the U.S., a position as the top-tier hunter—essentially, it was a status far higher than the Chairman of the Korean Association.
“As you can see, you’ll have no restrictions on a private plane, a dedicated building, and when creating a new guild, there are no limitations. Plus, as soon as you recruit a certain number of members, you’ll receive the treatment that top and mid-tier guilds get.”
“…It’s an incredible offer.”
Though there was a concern about what if Seonghyun didn’t know, fortunately, he seemed to be well aware that the offers presented to him were even more remarkable than Sami had anticipated.
‘Well, it’s only natural.’
It wasn’t just any guild; it was a top and mid-tier guild in the United States.
In other words, in any other country, it would be considered at least a top-tier guild.
Without knowing this fact, one wouldn’t even qualify to be called a hunter.
“Such situations don’t come by often. However, I can’t help but think that the treatment may fall a bit short for Hunter Kim Seonghyun and his abilities.”
“While it’s certainly an incredible offer… I still have no intention of moving to another country.”
“Then, if you could just sign… huh? What did you just say?”
Sami couldn’t easily accept what she had just heard.
What could be the downside of the United States compared to South Korea?
Sami, who had just heard the clear rejection, briefly pondered the words. No matter how she looked at it, Seonghyun’s words were an unmistakable refusal.
“P-Please reconsider…”
“I’m sorry, but my decision remains unchanged. Of course, I appreciate the offer. Well then…”
Seonghyun slightly bowed his head and attempted to exit the car.
“W-Wait a moment! Hunter Kim Seonghyun!”
Sami couldn’t let Seonghyun leave like this.
Bringing a new hunter to naturalize in the United States was Sami’s mission, and so far, she had successfully handled her tasks without a single failure.
‘Even if I don’t know about others, I have to hold onto this person…!’
Sami was aware of the existence of a potion. And she knew well what changes the presence of that potion could bring.
Therefore, she couldn’t afford to let Seonghyun slip away.
“Do you have something left to discuss?”
“Is there a reason you’re not accepting the offer?”
“Hm… I’m not sure either.”
From Seonghyun’s perspective, it was an offer that didn’t require much thought.
Everything that his father had sought to protect was still present in this land. Even if he were to move into another country, Seonghyun had no intention of leaving until South Korea was thoroughly secure.
“Just one week! Please think about it, even just for a week.”
Recognizing Seonghyun’s firm stance, Sami concluded that further persuasion was futile.
‘Given time to think on his own, he’ll likely change his mind.’
“All right.”
Fortunately, he didn’t refuse the request to think about it, and Sami bid farewell to Seonghyun, slightly bowing her head.
“…Thank you. Originally, I planned to take you home, but it seems Hunter Kim Seonghyun might feel uncomfortable with that, so I’ll take my leave.”
“Just your words are appreciated.”
Seonghyun still bowed his head slightly, appreciating Sami’s non-coercive approach. He descended from the car.
“Still, the fact that I receive such offers means my value has risen.”
If the United States, with its high standards, personally reached out to him, it was evident how others might view Seonghyun from elsewhere.
“Huh, it feels good.”
Seonghyun, satisfied with the fact that his evaluation had risen, could return home with a rather pleasant mood.
The next day at the academy, it was hard to feel any change in Seonghyun’s surroundings on the way to school since he had left the academy right after the tournament yesterday.
However, the looks directed at him had changed compared to before.
“He’s a healer, right…?”
“He must have other abilities too. Did he hide them?”
“Seriously. If he has healing abilities along with physical-related powers, that’s just too OP.”
While some voices carried a sense of envy and jealousy,
“He used healing abilities without hesitation.”
“If the injuries were severe, the pain must have been quite intense…”
From the fact that he had used healing abilities on Sang-yeon without hesitation, there was a sense of shock, and even a bit of admiration, in some voices.
‘I don’t necessarily have to do something drastic to bring about change, huh.’
