I Became the Younger Sister of the Game's Villain - Chapter 14.1
“The priests have become like that, so now…”
“Ah, I see. Then during the afternoon ritual…”
The voices gradually faded away.
Hiding behind the cleaning supply cabinet, I waited until the hallway fell silent before slipping out cautiously.
The tension made the back of my neck stiff.
My current location was the B3 floor of The Almighty Truth Society of the Heavenly Gate building.
Though I had managed to infiltrate this far, thinking about safely retrieving the Holy relic and escaping reminded me that there was still a long way to go.
I fumbled in the pocket of my jacket, clinging to it like a lifeline.
I clenched a plastic bag filled with white powder.
Its contents were a sleeping drug laced with hallucinogenic effects.
“Always the same bunch of assholes.”
Such substances aren’t easy to come by in regular circumstances, but here, they were plentiful. This stuff isn’t even available on the market, but it’s everywhere here.
I stole some from a dispensary I had to pass on the way in.
I thought it was kind of funny that the cult was dabbling in illegal things, but whatever.
I was willing to use anything that would help me now.
The only issue was dealing with the unconscious NPCs.
These cultists were astutely controlling of each person, so if someone was supposed to be in a particular place and time and wasn’t, an intrusion alarm would go off immediately.
That’s why.
“This is the last resort.”
A resolve to create chaos and escape if necessary.
But at least I had one thing to rely on.
I steadied my breath and carefully surveyed my surroundings.
I cautiously extended my foot forward.
The holy relic was displayed on the third basement floor, in the Holy Spirit Room. Just past the confession room, which was essentially a torture room, and I’d be right there.
“…isn’t it?”
Hmph.
Startled by the sudden voice, I held my breath.
I quickly ducked for cover.
While the first and second floors were somewhat risky, this floor was almost deserted, accessible only to authorized high-ranking priests.
The one talking now was likely a leader of this cult.
If I’m caught, I’m f*cked.
“Recently, the Gangdong branch seems to be a little slow lately.”
“Well, there’s still a steady influx of followers. That area is particularly dominated by the Steel bastards…”
“I didn’t say I wanted to hear excuses.”
As I stealthily moved to locate them, I ended up at the exact opposite of where I had come from – inside the Director’s office.
So, this was the room of the cult leader, the so-called Heavenly and Earthly Spirit or whatever. But something was off.
The voice I presumed to be the middle-aged male cult leader sounded obsequious in the face of a nonchalant young man.
‘…What’s going on here?’
There was definitely something unusual.
I crouched close to the ground, sensing a situation brewing
I peered through the crack of the half-open door.
A royal blue garment peeked out.
Judging by the golden embroidery, the one on the floor was the leader.
Then the one in front of him…….
“Why is everyone wearing all black?”
The person was dressed head-to-toe in black.
If I could get a little lower, I might see their face…
I pressed my cheek hard against the floor, inching my gaze upwards.
A hand nonchalantly resting on the table, the arm, and then…
“That symbol.”
A faintly visible eye shape on the wrist.
“Light and Shadow.”
My heart sank.
The guild, “Light and Shadow.”
It was an entity that could hardly be called a guild, and was full of the villains in the story.
