I Became the Younger Sister of the Game's Villain - Chapter 4.1
“I’m just going to pop in and out, can you stay here?”
I asked in an innocent tone, but Gu Seo Bok answered by getting out of the car and locking the door.
I really didn’t trust him.
Nonchalantly, I walked past him, ignoring him and his self-imposed nuisance.
There was only one thing I needed to check.
‘Nothing.’
Even after rubbing my eyes and searching, there was no newspaper scrap displaying the achievements of Shields Guild.
Just to be sure, I searched the lobby a few more times.
All I found were a marble desk, a receptionist, and two hunters blocking the path to the guild’s center.
Structurally, it wasn’t much different from the Shields seen in Akka, but…
‘So empty.’
It wasn’t supposed to be this empty.
In a glass display in a corner labeled ‘Loot Museum,’ a few C-rank and D-rank artifacts were placed, seemingly easy to acquire.
The lobby is the guild’s face.
While mostly decorated like a war zone, it wasn’t entirely without consideration.
“…There’s so little here.”
I muttered to myself as I looked at the sparse selection. I confirmed my suspicions.
Shields hadn’t obtained ‘that artifact’ yet.
Not the Ghost Company. Not even the hottest bar in the Seoul guild, as they claimed.
Scratching my eyebrow in disappointment, I glanced toward the central corridor.
Although it didn’t feel like they were actively guarding against intruders, occasional outsiders like me toured around.
‘I wish I had the chance to see Park Do Woon.’
It was a brief thought, but I got what I came for.
In fact, I had almost nothing more to see, as I had stopped by here mainly to check things out.
Pretending to be a child, I glanced around the Shields Guild until the end and swayed out of the building.
Gu Seo Bok, leaning against the outside of the glass door, squinted his eyes as soon as he saw me.
“Are you interested in the Shields Guild?”
Swiftly, I climbed into the car, dismissing the speculation that wasn’t worth listening to. The road ahead was long, and there was much to do.
“Take me to Tapgol Park.”
With a dialogue resembling a taxi driver, Gu Seo Bok’s expression gradually soured.
***
If someone were to suddenly ask why I came to Tapgol Park of all places, well, I don’t know.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
“Miss, what on earth are you doing? Embarrassing the neighborhood!”
However, the incessant whining couldn’t be tolerated.
Ignoring Gu Seo Bok’s grumbling with one ear, I stood with my shoulder against him.
If only I were a bit taller.
The growth of a middle school student was a bit lacking for gripping the high pedestal of the statue.
Looking down, I uttered an annoyed voice.
“Raise your crow feet.”
“Yes?! No, really?!”
“Raise your crow feet.”
As I tapped his shoulder with sneakers, Gu Seo Bok lifted his foot, staggering.
I stretched my arms as high as I could. Just a little more. Just a little more.
‘There we go.’
I awkwardly grabbed the pedestal of the Son Byeong Hee statue.
The reason I moved a bit earlier than the originally planned schedule today was precisely this.
There are hidden Easter eggs scattered everywhere in After Carnation.
Some of them give buffs quite useful for growth, and the Son Byeong Hee statue was one .
Although it was a method that made the early gameplay easier…
‘Now is a perfect time.’
If you bow twice in front and vigorously rub the statue’s hand as if possessed, your stats increase regardless of the skill rank.
There aren’t many ways for stats to increase directly without accumulating proficiency, so this was a must-visit location for knowledgeable beginners.
Who the hell figured this out in the first place?
I pondered while following the flow of consciousness.
Now, all that’s left is to climb.
‘It’s going to fall!’
This girl’s grip is really weak.
This is my first time at FFF rank.
Pouring all my strength through my fingertips, I felt the supporting hand on my foot.
Seizing the moment it floated, I jumped up without hesitation.
“Thank you.”
“Earlier, you were suddenly kneeling and bowing deeply, and now, why are you doing this there…?”
Ignoring Gu Seo Bok’s continued complaints, I stood, holding the leg of the Son Byeong Hee statue.
From the time we came to Tapgol Park, he had been nagging incessantly.
With an expression that said it seemed too bothersome to bother investigating the cause of my actions, Gu Seo Bok was still grumbling.
“It’s been a while.”
