I Give Up on the BL Novel's Male Leads - Chapter 42
Illein was shocked by his brazen behavior and exclaimed.
“Leave, both of you. Otherwise, I’ll call the police.”
“Wow, you really sound just like Lady Illenas. Are twins always like this?”
“Go. I really will call the police in five minutes.”
Illein said this and then took her wand out of her pocket and held it tightly.
But Willai just looked pitifully at her until she entered the house.
“I really want to see your sister. I’ve never seen such a beautiful girl in my life!”
“I’m sorry, but really, leave. I don’t want to talk to you.”
Illein was uncomfortable with him.
“Then I’ll wait until she comes out!”
Despite not wanting to say anything harsh, Illein sighed heavily and went inside. She then waved her wand.
– Click, clack, crack.
The locks on the door activated.
She hoped Willai wouldn’t rip the locks off the door as before, so she summoned water and froze it.
The door itself was frozen solid, and she planned to keep it that way until he left.
Dragging her tired body back to her room, she immediately took a shower.
After showering, Illein turned on the lights in her room and was about to dry her hair when she drew the curtains.
– Tap, tap, tap.
It sounded like someone was throwing small stones at the window.
Illein grabbed her ring, then put it in the pocket of her negligee before pulling back the curtains.
There, on the ground floor, was Edwin.
Illein, relieved it wasn’t Willai, opened the window and stepped back.
Edwin then easily entered using the wind.
“Twenty minutes, right?”
“Yes.”
She grabbed his hand as soon as he entered and was about to touch her annoyingly wet hair when he reached out and blew all the remaining moisture off her body.
“Thank you.”
Illein chuckled warmly at how quickly she became warm.
She remained standing, holding his hand, thinking it better to keep him standing for twenty minutes before sending him on his way.
“Hey.”
“Yes.”
“I think our magic is a strange mix.”
Illein was stunned by his audacious behavior as he slurred his words like a drunk, pulling her hand towards him.
Then, in a daze, he bit her wrist.
“Ouch…!”
As she struggled and fell, the ring from her negligee pocket rolled out and stopped at her feet.
“Hey?”
Edwin struggled to regain his senses despite hearing Illein’s voice.
The power she shared was odd, and as the magic control device’s power transferred to him, a strange magic came along with it.
It seemed that as the magic control device was absorbed by Illein, it and her magic were partially merging.
He felt dizzy yet strangely euphoric, as if he was heavily intoxicated. Like a person bewitched, he bit her hand.
Each time he gripped the control device, he felt a returning sense of stability.
For Illein, his biting felt almost puppy-like.
It wasn’t harsh, but it seemed like he was trying to leave a mark.
Each time he bit, she felt a bit of her magic draining away.
What did he mean by ‘the magic is a strange mix’?
She was puzzled by this, and the fact that this event was not in the original story made her even more confused.
“Excuse me.”
She couldn’t address him too familiarly, so she simply had to wait.
Above all, his body was too heavy to push off, and it seemed risky to provoke him given his notorious character in the original story.
Resigned, she sighed and decided to wait until he stopped biting.
Apart from biting her hand, he wasn’t making any other threatening moves. Besides, she was also feeling a bit tired.
Finally, as if he was clockwork, Edwin snapped out of it exactly after twenty minutes.
“What’s going on?”
“That sounds like something I should be asking you.”
He was startled to see the faint bite marks on Illein’s hand, evidence that he had insistently bit it.
“Sorry.”
With that, he quickly left her room as if fleeing.
Illein wondered just how flustered he must have been to rush towards the door like that, and after seeing him dash out the main entrance, she waved her wand to lock the door again.
Despite the incident, she still had to study.
With a day’s worth of studying backlog, she would have to face sleepless nights for a week unless she maintained her pace.
“Oh, what do I do…”
After getting ready to go to school, Illein realized her ring was missing. Clearly, Edwin had accidentally taken it with him when he left with some items yesterday.
Checking the tracking spell on the ring, it was currently at the palace.
“Ah…”
She felt gloomy, but there was no time to dwell on it.
If she continued to feel down, she would be late, and that would affect her evaluation.
Sighing, she took a bandage and tightly wrapped her chest.
