I Give Up on the BL Novel's Male Leads - Chapter 45
If she wears the ring now and the Adam’s apple pops out, she won’t know what to say to Edwin.
However, if other people find out about her true identity, being expelled would be a stroke of luck compared to the trouble that could arise from deceiving everyone.
“Ah.”
She decided it was better to wear the ring and use a scarf.
After all, Edwin spent the whole class lying down or being uncooperative, so it was right to be cautious around others.
But what exactly did Edwin mean by that strange scent he mentioned?
“I’m hungry…”
Despite everything, she was still hungry. She decided to eat first and then think.
That’s how Illein was as she came down from lunch.
“Hey!”
Alisha was standing near the staircase.
“Hello, Alisha?”
Illein greeted Alisha brightly, trying her best to be pleasant.
Given the past incident with Willai, both Alisha and Willai had nearly been expelled.
But when the guards took them away and they were forced to confess under duress, it turned out that everything had been orchestrated by Willai, and his group received only light penalties, excluding Willai.
“You really are unlucky, you know?”
“Yeah, I guess so. I’ll be going now.”
Illein tried to ignore the hostility Alisha showed towards her and headed downstairs.
“Wait.”
Illein thought she had done the right thing to wear the ring. Otherwise, she might have fallen backward when Alisha grabbed her.
“Are you going to the dance party alone?”
“Uh? Yes.”
Illein was puzzled as to why Alisha would ask such a thing.
“Go with me.”
“What? Why?”
Illein remembered Alisha’s friendship with Willai and was confused by this strange request.
“Go with me. Don’t you want to?”
‘Huh.’
Illein was too flustered to say no outright.
“I think I’ll be with the boys.”
“Don’t be annoying, just come with me!”
Illein stood there hesitantly, unsure how to refuse.
“Why are you saying this all of a sudden?”
“Just tell me if you want it or not.”
“…This is the first time we’re really talking. And didn’t you hate me?”
Illein spoke calmly.
Alisha seemed annoyed at her brazen behavior and shoved Illein.
“You’re really unlucky!”
But Alisha recoiled and fell backwards instead…
“Alisha!”
Alisha slipped forward. Unfortunately, the stairs had just been cleaned and were quite slippery.
“Aah!”
Alisha tumbled down the stairs.
– Thud!
As she fell, Illein quickly ran towards her.
Alisha ended up stopping right in front of Class 10, with her head, knees, and limbs scraped, bleeding.
“What happened?”
“She rolled down the stairs.”
Onlookers who saw Alisha fall were shocked.
Illein quickly used her healing abilities to treat Alisha. After recovering, Alisha pushed herself up off Illein sharply.
“Alisha, are you okay?”
“Get lost.”
With a flushed face, she walked off towards Class 10.
It all happened so quickly that it seemed more like a mishap and didn’t turn into a major conflict. Illein was relieved about that, but the incident with Alisha left her feeling uneasy.
As the time for the magic medical class approached, a paper sparrow suddenly flew towards Illein.
Illein caught the paper sparrow, and as it touched her palm, it unfolded.
[“If you don’t partner with me, I’ll say you pushed me.
-Alisha.”]
Illein thought she should report this to the police as evidence.
– Whoosh!
But as soon as she acknowledged the message, the paper burned up before she could do anything about it.
“What is this?”
As Illein sighed, Edwin was looking at her suspiciously from behind.
“What’s wrong, Illein?”
“Oh, Damon. It’s nothing.”
Damon gently wiped a small scorch mark off Illein’s cheek.
“Why are you wiping my face?”
Illein turned around.
“There was some soot on your cheek.”
“Thanks, Damon.”
“You’re welcome. But I think I smell something strange on you.”
“What smell?”
“I’m not sure. It’s a nice smell… Did you spray perfume?”
Illein, puzzled by the scent that only Edwin and Damon seemed to notice, tried to sniff herself.
But there was no smell.
“That’s strange. I’m not wearing anything like that.”
Illein said this and, still unsure, decided to get up.
“Where are you going?”
“To the restroom.”
She planned to wash off whatever scent they were noticing on her in the restroom, and also to clean the ash that was left on her hand.
As she headed to the hallway, she encountered Melias standing there.
“Illein?”
“Oh, Melias.”
“Where are you headed?”
“Just off to wash my hands in the restroom.”
Illein was curious about why Melias was standing there.
