I Give Up on the BL Novel's Male Leads - Chapter 47
“When do you think she’ll get tired of you?”
“You’ll dump her as soon as she clings to you, won’t you?”
Phenon said with a hidden disdain. Willai recalled his past misdeeds. Indeed, he had dumped many women in that manner.
But this time was different.
“If she gets pregnant, I’ll take her as my mistress.”
“What? Really?”
Maxinon and Phenon looked at Willai, surprised by his dirty remark.
Alisha shook her head as if disgusted.
“You guys are really no help.”
Ignoring Alisha, Willai said:
“What are you going to do, just get him stood up?”
“No, I’m going to move him to the center of the dance hall at the party. And then I’m going to dump pig’s blood on his head. It will be horrific.”
“How?”
“Just play along and he’ll fall for it.”
Willai couldn’t agree with Alisha’s plan.
In his view, the reason why Illein Thierry hadn’t dated anyone so high and mighty was because her sister was too beautiful.
Willai had never seen a woman as beautiful in his life.
Alisha was pretty, but Illenas was not just pretty; she was breathtakingly beautiful, like a living statue.
Willai didn’t believe for a second that Illein, who saw such beauty in his sister daily, would be moved by Alisha.
“Well, good luck with that.”
With that, he headed back to his seat as the class was about to start.
Phenon and Maxinon shrugged and returned to their seats too.
“Today I have some business.”
“That’s fine. See you tomorrow, Melias.”
“Yes.”
Illein smiled slightly as she watched Melias come specifically to her class to say goodbye to her and Damon.
“I also wanted to go to the library…”
She was about to join Damon to the library, but she couldn’t; Edwin was watching her intently.
“I’d like to, but I’m not feeling well today.”
“Are you okay? Do you want to go to the infirmary together?”
“No, it’s okay.”
Studying was always best done in the library. The silence spells ensured peace, and all the necessary books were available.
However, if Illenas, pretending to be Illein, studied in the library, Edwin would surely find it odd.
She had feigned disinterest in studying, and he thought she was disguising herself as Illenas to attend classes in place of Illein.
“See you tomorrow, Damon.”
“Uh, okay.”
Damon responded reluctantly, then came chasing after her again.
“Can I stop by your mansion when I go home later?”
“Uh? Oh, sure.”
“Alright. See you later.”
“Yeah.”
Illein watched him wave goodbye, and she waved back with a smile before picking up her things.
As she slowly gathered her belongings, Edwin, who had been waiting behind, came over with a sigh.
“Why bother picking it up by hand?”
He used his wand to scoop up everything she was collecting by hand and dumped it into her bag.
Illein normally would have done the same, but the presence of others had prevented her from doing so.
“Thank you.”
“Forget it.”
After he said that, he left first. Illein was relieved that he had disappeared and started to head down slowly.
As she finished descending the stairs, Edwin was there waiting.
“Why were you waiting?”
“I wasn’t waiting. Just taking a break.”
“Ah, I see.”
Illein felt uneasy as if he was going to escort her.
“Are you escorting me?”
She asked as she began to walk ahead and he slowly followed.
“There are many who are against Illein.”
Edwin had recalled Willai while saying this, and Illein immediately understood.
“If you’re referring to that incident my brother told me about, hasn’t it been resolved?”
“Does it look resolved? Illein is not skilled with a wand, and water attribute isn’t offensive.”
Realizing he was concerned about her safety made Illein feel slightly less uncomfortable.
“I see. Thank you for your concern.”
Grateful for his worry, she smiled, prompting him to grimace and say,
“Don’t pretend we’re together. Walk ahead.”
“Ah, okay. But thank you, anyway.”
As she walked forward at his words, the long shadow he cast from behind reached her feet.
They walked in silence until they reached the Baron Thierry residence, where Edwin spoke up.
“I’d like to do today’s 20 minutes now.”
Illein thought to herself that he should have said so earlier while they were walking. However, considering the rumors that might spread if they had walked hand in hand all the way to the mansion, she held back her comment.
“Alright. Please come in.”
She said this and led Edwin inside.
“I’ll go check if my brother is feeling better.”
“Alright, and change into something comfortable.”
“What?”
Illein looked at Edwin, puzzled by his remark, until he scratched the back of his neck and explained,
“Your bandage is showing.”
“Ah…! Oh, yes.”
Only then did Illein feel the bandage around her chest dangling at her waistline. Although she was in her male body thanks to the ring, she had wrapped herself just in case she might need to remove it.
“Well…”
“Call me Edwin.”
“Ah, yes.”
She nodded, pretending she had just remembered to use his name.
