I Got a Job as the Demon King's Toy - Chapter 97
When Bonita opened her eyes, she found herself lying in an unfamiliar bedroom. The bed was so soft that her back felt slightly sore from sinking into it, and the ceiling, visible through the embroidered canopy, was adorned with elaborate artwork. As she blinked in confusion, wondering where she was, a drowsy, low voice came from beside her.
“Did you sleep well?”
Turning her head, she saw a pair of beautiful golden eyes. The face they belonged to was smiling as if looking at the most beloved thing in the world.
“Teshiel… mmph.”
Before she could even finish saying his name, Teshiel pressed his lips to hers. What started as a light, gentle morning kiss soon became deep and intense. Breathless, Bonita clutched the sheets as Teshiel chuckled softly, his lips still on hers, and climbed on top of her. Even before she was fully awake, Bonita found herself moaning, already soaked with arousal.
It wasn’t until she had clung to him, trembling through several climaxes, crying and pleading, that their morning passion finally ended. Teshiel, his gaze soft as he looked at her disheveled, sweat-drenched form, smiled tenderly.
Without warning, he scooped her up, sheets and all, into his arms. Startled, Bonita kicked her legs in surprise.
“I want to show you something.”
At his words, Bonita blushed deeply but soon settled against his chest, resting her head on his shoulder. Holding her close, Teshiel carried her toward the window.
They were, in fact, in the Emperor’s bedroom. The view beyond the large window was breathtaking. Below them lay a grand castle, likely several times the size of the Demon King’s castle, and beyond its walls stretched the vast expanse of the Empire. The horizon seemed to stretch endlessly, likely marking the extent of the Emperor’s lands. The room had undoubtedly been designed to give the ruler a view of his domain every morning.
“Wow…”
Bonita’s eyes widened in awe as she whispered her admiration.
“Do you like it?”
“Yes. It’s beautiful.”
Teshiel, gazing down at her flushed face, pressed a kiss to her forehead. His kisses trailed down to her nose, her cheeks, and her eyelids, finally landing on her lips once again. As he savored her lips deeply while holding her close, he murmured in a low voice.
“I’m afraid I’ll have to fire you.”
“…What?”
Fire her? Bonita’s breath caught in her throat, her body, still wrapped in the sheets, stiffened.
“Y-you’re joking, right?”
“No, I’m not.”
She forced a smile as she asked, but the response was utterly serious, devoid of any humor. Bonita’s eyes widened, her face turning pale, and soon her eyes filled with tears. She had been content to serve him as a maid forever, just to stay by his side. That was all she had ever wanted.
Watching her expression change, Teshiel cursed inwardly. She was so unbearably adorable that it was driving him mad. He struggled to suppress the impulse to tease her further and make her cry before finally speaking again.
“Instead, you’ll have to become my wife.”
With one arm, he effortlessly lifted her, using his other hand to gently caress her cheek with a playful smile.
“This is an order, so don’t even think about refusing.”
Bonita blinked in disbelief, her mind unable to process what he had just said. After a moment, she covered her mouth with her hands. Did I hear that right? Did he just ask me to be his wife?
It was impossible to believe. They were from different species and different social standings. The idea of a human maid becoming the wife of the Demon King seemed utterly absurd.
‘Wait, I was just fired, wasn’t I?’
So technically, she was no longer a maid. But she was still a lowly human, and all she wanted was to be near him. He could have simply kept her by his side without needing to make her his wife. It was too grand a position, one she had never even dared to dream of. Her mind was spinning with the overwhelming thought.
Bonita, who Teshiel had fully expected to immediately say “yes,” instead remained frozen, covering her mouth with her hands. Teshiel narrowed his eyes at her reaction. Still holding her in his arms, he walked over to the table by the window and opened a box that had been sitting there. Bonita’s gaze involuntarily followed his movements, and she saw something inside the box that caught her eye—a dazzling golden crown that looked strangely familiar.
“This is a gift. A bribe, so you won’t refuse my command.”
A command was one thing, but a bribe? What did that even mean?
Teshiel took out the crown and placed it on Bonita’s head. The moment she felt its weight, she realized where she had seen it before—the Emperor’s crown.
“W-Wait. Does that mean this ‘gift’ is…”
“The Empire.”
“…You are kidding, no?”
“No, not this time either.”
Teshiel replied, his lips curling into a smile. He slid his fingers through the back of her hair, gently tangling them in her locks. Gazing into her wide, brown eyes, he pressed his tongue firmly against her plump lower lip before capturing her mouth in a kiss. After what felt like an eternity, he finally pulled back, leaving Bonita flushed and breathless.
“Why aren’t you answering? I’m a man who can gift an empire to my wife. Where else will you find a husband like me?”
There was an underlying hint of anxiety in his voice. Though he hadn’t expected to be rejected, Teshiel still held Bonita in his arms, keeping her feet off the ground, preventing any chance of escape. He wasn’t planning on letting her go until she nodded in agreement. And if she dared to shake her head… His expression darkened briefly before he continued speaking, trying to hide his unease.
“I may have… broken a few things here and there, but I’ll have them fixed. Don’t worry. As for the crown, this one’s just temporary. I’ll get rid of the one someone else used and have a new one made for you—one that suits you perfectly.”
In the end, Bonita couldn’t hold back her laughter, tears welling up from sheer happiness. With her eyes brimming, she threw her arms around Teshiel’s neck.
“I love you. I love you, Teshiel. I’ll be your wife. I love you.”
