I Just Wanted to Avoid Death - Chapter 11
“Are you pretending not to recognize me?”
Even at Adelio’s question, Yeshion couldn’t react at all.
“Th-that is to say, are you really… the Crown Prince?”
It was impossible to accept.
The image of the Crown Prince from the cover was nothing like this face. Even in the novel, not once was he described as a ‘beast.’
And yet, the man standing in front of Yeshion right now looked nothing short of an animal.
His large frame, his lazily smiling face, all of it. Rather than handsome, his strong features and sharp eyes were fitting enough to be called the king of beasts.
“Then, is there a fake Crown Prince, too?”
Unaware of Yeshion’s confusion, Adelio replied casually, resting his chin on his hand. The response made Yeshion’s lips tremble.
Yeshion’s ‘grand plan’ in the original work was to kill the Crown Prince.
The reason was unknown. After Yeshion died, one of the things that came to light was, ‘Actually, Yeshion was the one behind the assassination of the Crown Prince.’
‘Damn it! Even if I was just a supporting character, and even if ‘Yeshion’ was dead by that point, for something as big as the assassination of the Crown Prince, they should have at least explained why it happened!’
If they had, he could have prepared for it. But the original novel, too busy indulging in its 19+ scenes, was horribly unkind to the villain who made a brief appearance and died in an instant.
With his mouth firmly shut, Yeshion glanced sideways at Adelio.
He seemed to have taken quite a liking to touching the bump on the back of Yeshion’s head, as he kept rubbing the round spot over and over again.
‘Fine, let’s pretend I don’t know anything.’
Given that his head was injured, maybe he could feign amnesia and get away with it. Even if Adelio didn’t believe him, what could he do if Yeshion stuck to ignorance?
Having thought that, Yeshion calmly opened his mouth.
“My apologies, Your Highness. I didn’t recognize you as it’s my first time meeting you, so I couldn’t greet you properly…”
“……What?”
“But… were we acquainted before?”
That should do it, right?
Yeshion looked at Adelio while hiding a sense of satisfaction.
In any case, in the original story, Yeshion and Adelio didn’t have a close relationship, and even if Yeshion had tried to seduce him, they never actually slept together.
‘In the original, Adelio hated troublesome things.’
If he says doesn’t remember, Adelio would have to explain everything in detail about their relationship. Given Adelio’s personality, he’d probably be too annoyed to bother.
But contrary to Yeshion’s expectations, Adelio frowned.
“You don’t remember?”
With a disbelieving chuckle, Adelio finally removed his hand from Yeshion’s head. Then, as if adjusting his posture, he grabbed Yeshion’s legs and pulled him toward himself.
Yeshion’s body, which had been leaning against the headboard, was dragged down, and he ended up lying flat on the bed again.
Immediately, Adelio climbed on top of him.
“W-what, what is this…!”
“You said you don’t remember.”
Adelio gave a short reply as he tossed aside the shirt he had been wearing, revealing his well-defined muscles.
“Do you have exhibitionist tendencies? Why are you taking your clothes off?!”
“You’re lying down, and I’m on top of you. I doubt you don’t understand what this means, Priest Yeshion.”
Adelio leaned in close, his face drawing near Yeshion’s. They were so close that Yeshion could feel his breath.
“Or are you saying you don’t even remember what this means?”
“……”
“We were like this before, too. Last time, another priest interrupted us, so we didn’t finish.”
Yeshion swallowed dryly as he glanced around.
Should I scream?
No, even if I scream, would anyone come?
This is Yeshion’s room. Even if there were sounds of screaming or moaning, none of the other priests would dare to look.
It wasn’t like Yeshion and the Crown Prince, notorious for being promiscuous, were doing anything unusual together.
Even if someone passing by heard strange noises, they would probably think, ‘Oh, Yeshion’s at it again.’
“T-this, this doesn’t seem like a good idea!”
Despite Yeshion’s desperate cry, Adelio didn’t even blink as he leaned in closer.
His lowered body, his tilted head, and the lips that were about to brush against Yeshion’s, Yeshion quickly reached out and covered Adelio’s mouth.
“You said another priest interrupted last time, so nothing happened in the end, right? So, can’t we just pretend like nothing happened this time too…?”
