I Just Wanted to Avoid Death - Chapter 12
It didn’t matter what ‘Yeshion’ in the original story did. What mattered now was completely severing ties with Adelio.
There was no good in getting tangled up with someone from the original story!
At Yeshion’s words, Adelio smirked.
“Why would I?”
“Pardon…?”
“Even if you don’t remember, I do. I want to taste you, and you said you wanted to taste me, too. Act like a man, don’t take back your words.”
“I didn’t say that.”
Yeshion said firmly.
But Adelio, as if he had no intention of listening, grabbed Yeshion’s wrist, which was pressing his hand against Adelio’s lips and chin, and pulled it away.
As Adelio’s face moved in closer again, Yeshion finally yelled in desperation.
“Let go! Let go, you bastard! Let me go!”
Communication was completely impossible. If that was the case, it would be better to shout and draw people over.
“Just calm dow—!”
“Aaaaah! Help! Someone, help!”
At Yeshion’s desperate scream, Adelio finally backed off slowly.
He had thought it was part of the ‘play,’ but Yeshion truly seemed to be acting like he didn’t recognize him.
As Adelio’s grip on his wrist weakened, Yeshion shook his arm free and jumped off the bed. He needed to get out of Adelio’s sight right away to feel safe.
Just as he kicked open the door and tried to run out, someone opened it from the outside. Yeshion couldn’t stop in time and collided with the person.
“Oof…”
That hurt.
Holding his throbbing nose, Yeshion staggered back a few steps. When he looked up, Eldis was standing there with an expression full of displeasure.
“Yeshion. You know you’re not supposed to cause a commotion in the temple. I’ve told you this several times.”
“It wasn’t me causing a scene, it’s that pervert…!”
Yeshion reflexively answered, pointing a finger at Adelio. In response, Adelio scoffed.
“What? Pervert?”
“If you’re not a pervert, then what are you? In the underground dungeon, you suddenly bit me, and now you’re trying to jump on me, asking if I remember! Just because you’re the Crown Prince, do you think you can do anything?”
Yeshion knew how disrespectful his words were from beginning to end. But it was better to rile Adelio up like this. If he killed Yeshion here, everything would just reset.
‘If it resets, I swear I won’t ever go back to that underground dungeon!’
This wasn’t simply because Adelio’s actions were so bold and rough.
‘Shouldn’t your focus be on the Saintess, not me!’
The problem was that he shouldn’t have been the one having this conversation with Adelio.
In the original story, it was the Saintess who solved Adelio’s ‘biggest problem.’ It was a problem so severe that it shook the very foundation of Adelio’s position as Crown Prince.
Because of that, Adelio had been secretly visiting the temple, and it was during this time that he met the Saintess early in the story.
However, the original didn’t clearly depict when exactly Adelio had come to the temple, so who he met or how was unclear.
One thing was certain, though.
Adelio and ‘Yeshion’ never slept together.
Adelio’s line about Yeshion in the original story had been something along the lines of, “I wanted to have a taste of that pale little guy, but it’s a shame he died.”
So it needed to end like that this time, too.
Without the part about dying, of course.
But Adelio’s actions just a moment ago were undeniably sincere.
The burning red eyes filled with lust and the parted lips that seemed eager to share breath—Yeshion didn’t even want to imagine what could have happened if he hadn’t stopped it.
‘I have to avoid any further connection.’
And he had to run away.
If it were possible, He’d rather just die right now. If everything resets, he’d know how to avoid running into Adelio next time.
Or maybe he should just send the Saintess to the underground dungeon instead. Then, Adelio would shift his attention to her, just like in the original.
While Yeshion was quickly thinking through his options, Adelio, with his arms crossed, approached him with long strides.
“Was this guy’s personality always like this?”
Was it because of the head injury, or had something been off since the moment Yeshion came to clean? It was hard to tell.
What was certain, however, was that Yeshion’s entire demeanor had changed.
“Why… why are you looking at me like that? Do you have something to say?”
Adelio remained silent, just staring at Yeshion.
Perhaps aware of how rude his words were to the Crown Prince, Yeshion flinched and looked nervous as Adelio got closer.
“Your boldness just makes me more interested.”
“….You must have gone mad.”
