I Just Wanted to Avoid Death - Chapter 46
“…Ugh!”
Yeshion squeezed his eyes shut and braced for impact, fully expecting to hit the ground—but the pain never came.
Tentatively, he opened his eyes, noticing the large hand that had cradled his head, protecting it from the floor. The hand cupped the back of his head, keeping him from hitting it against the ground.
Looking up, Yeshion’s gaze met that of the man standing over him.
It was Adelio.
“W-Why are you here?”
He couldn’t believe it. After everything, was Adelio really going to try the same thing again? Was he really going to repeat what had happened before?
Just as Yeshion was about to let his rising anger show, he heard a low growl.
“Grrr…”
The sound that came from Adelio’s throat was eerily similar to the one Yeshion had heard in the underground prison.
Yeshion’s face went pale.
His body remembered what Adelio had tried to do to him when he had transformed into a beast back then.
“Wait, hold on, why are you turning into a beast again…? No, before that, why are you even here? Stop, stop! That hurts! I said it hurts!”
Adelio pulled Yeshion into a tight embrace, pressing his face into Yeshion’s neck and taking a deep breath as though he couldn’t breathe without Yeshion nearby.
But it didn’t stop there.
Adelio pushed his lower body closer to Yeshion’s, rubbing their hips together like some depraved animal.
“You crazy, hic, bastard…!”
In the middle of speaking, Yeshion involuntarily let out a sharp sound.
He wanted to grab Adelio by the hair and rip it all out, but his arms and torso were completely pinned by the man.
Despite the thick clothes between them, their lower bodies were rubbing against each other, and Yeshion’s body began to heat up.
“Hah, stop, stop it… Stop…!”
Just as Yeshion’s voice grew louder, Adelio’s movements abruptly halted. The pressure on his body lessened, and the arms wrapped around him loosened.
Yeshion, who had been squeezing his eyes shut, cautiously opened one eye.
Adelio, looking confused, stared down at his own hands, then back at Yeshion, who had fallen in front of him.
“Why are you here…? Why am I here?”
He looked completely bewildered.
But that wasn’t Yeshion’s concern.
In an instant, Yeshion scrambled to his feet, putting as much distance between them as possible. His back pressed against the wall, he couldn’t go any further, but at least there was some space between them now.
Yeshion glared at Adelio, pulling his robe tightly around him.
“That’s what I should be asking. Why are you here, Your Highness?”
“The palace… isn’t this the palace?”
“We’re in the temple.”
At Yeshion’s words, Adelio glanced around, a hollow laugh escaping his lips.
Kneeling halfway on the floor, Adelio muttered phrases like, “I’ve gone mad,” or “I don’t understand.”
Yeshion watched him from a distance.
Had he just been in a room? Adelio was only wearing trousers and a white shirt, making him appear more casual than usual.
As Yeshion examined him, his body stiffened in realization. That rod-like thing he had felt earlier—it had been pressing against his thigh. The bulge in Adelio’s pants was unmistakable.
Yeshion quickly averted his gaze from Adelio’s g***n.
“If you’re here because you’re in pain… Head Priest Eldis is in his office.”
“…..”
“Well, I’ll be leaving now…”
Yeshion tried to sneak away slowly.
His own body, slightly stimulated from the earlier contact, made him move awkwardly as he stood up.
Adelio, who had remained silent, finally spoke as Yeshion rose to his feet.
“We’re still… nothing, aren’t we?”
Yeshion’s fingers twitched. He didn’t respond, so Adelio continued.
“I didn’t think I was wrong. Not until you told me otherwise. I thought it was okay to act that way.”
Kneeling on the floor, Adelio looked up at Yeshion quietly.
No one had ever questioned his behavior. He always took what he wanted and discarded what he didn’t.
That was how Adelio had lived his entire life.
“I was jealous when I saw you with Eldis.”
“…W-What?”
“I hated how you let him hold you so freely while you never let me get close.”
Yeshion tilted his head slightly as he listened to Adelio’s words.
…Who was held by whom?
But before he could ask, Adelio poured out the rest of his thoughts.
“That’s why I wanted to hold you.”
“…..”
“I wanted to be someone who meant something to you, even just a little.”
