I definitely thought I could relax just a moment ago. I felt like I had to correct my thoughts.
“C-chasing after me?”
“Yes. I’m chasing after you. What, you didn’t realize?”
Yeshion opened his mouth slightly but hesitated to respond.
He could sense that the wrong answer might entangle him in another strange situation.
When Yeshion merely darted his eyes around without replying, Adelio shrugged.
“Well, it doesn’t matter whether you know or not. These are my feelings to sort out.”
Adelio tightened his embrace around Yeshion and remained silent for a moment before murmuring softly.
“To be honest, I still don’t fully understand these feelings. But one thing’s certain—holding you like this makes me want to kiss you.”
Yeshion, his chin resting on Adelio’s shoulder, froze.
What’s the difference between having feelings and whatever that is?
The urge to snap back at him was overwhelming, but Yeshion refrained.
Any reaction could lead to a kiss, and he had no way to outmatch Adelio’s relentless demeanor.
As Yeshion squirmed, attempting to slip out of Adelio’s hold, the prince tightened his arms around his waist.
“I said I want to kiss you.”
“And?”
“I’m asking for permission, aren’t I? Hurry and say yes.”
Adelio’s growl had a commanding tone, as if the answer was already decided, and all Yeshion needed to do was comply.
When Yeshion gave him a look of disbelief, Adelio rested his face against Yeshion’s shoulder. This time, however, he exhaled warm breaths against Yeshion’s neck.
“Ah!”
A shiver ran down Yeshion’s spine, and a startled sound escaped his lips.
Adelio chuckled lowly.
“Such a sensitive body.”
“..…”
“Do you remember? We’ve kissed before.”
“If I remembered that, would I be sitting here quietly right now?”
Adelio squinted, clearly unsatisfied with the answer.
As Yeshion tried to push him away in protest, Adelio stared at him in silence.
Not long ago, Yeshion’s eyes had been filled with defiance and venom.
Adelio had thought breaking that spirit would be entertaining, but now those same eyes had softened, resembling those of a gentle puppy.
Yet even this new expression appealed to Adelio. Pretty faces looked even better when they cried.
“…Why not, though?”
“Your Highness, seriously? Why not? I don’t like you, and you don’t like me. Why would I agree to this?”
Yeshion laughed in disbelief, but Adelio’s gaze fixated on his lips.
“Then let’s figure that out.”
“…What?”
“If we kiss, we’ll know whether I like you or not.”
Adelio’s unwavering gaze met Yeshion’s as he spoke.
Despite his earlier bold claim to Eldis that it couldn’t possibly be love, doubts lingered. It might not be love, but what if he was standing at the crossroads leading to it?
Sure, his heart didn’t race at the sight of Yeshion—at least, not yet. And he was certain Yeshion felt the same.
But he was curious.
This longing to touch, to see, to talk all day—was it purely s****l?
Adelio wanted to resolve it, even if it meant being direct. Perhaps spending a night with Yeshion would quench this thirst.
“So… you want to kiss me to figure that out?”
“Something like that.”
Such a ridiculous argument shouldn’t work, but for Yeshion, it was a serious consideration.
‘There’s no way Adelio likes me.’
The only significant incident between them was the poison ordeal. If they kissed now, there was no way Adelio would suddenly claim to like him—or start liking him at all.
‘If kissing him makes him lose interest in me, that’s not a bad deal…’
“Fine. If that’s what this is about, go ahead. But stop immediately if it doesn’t feel right.”
Adelio’s eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t expected Yeshion to agree.
And yet, there was something peculiar about it.
Yeshion’s tone carried a strange finality, as if certain that Adelio couldn’t possibly like him.
But now wasn’t the time to dwell on it. Adelio leaned into the opportunity presented to him.
“Let’s see, then.”
