I Just Wanted to Avoid Death - Chapter 8
“Ah, ugh…”
Groaning, Yeshion frowned and looked at the man he had just knocked down. The man, drooling at the mouth, growled.
“W-w-what… Who are you?”
Given his massive stature and demeanor, it wouldn’t have been strange to mistake him for a beast.
His sharply shining red eyes gazed at Yeshion as if he were prey, and his thick lips leaking saliva showed he was not in his right mind.
“Damn you… bastard…”
The fact that he could speak confirmed he was human.
But now, that wasn’t important. The weight of the hand on his shoulder was so brutally forceful that just being caught felt like death.
“Did… did I do something wrong to you?”
Given the many sins committed by this body, these were the only words he had when facing a threat.
Yet, the man merely looked down at Yeshion and growled like a beast, without saying anything. If there was an issue, it was that the pressing hand had become even tighter.
“No, if you have something to say, can you let go first… Ah! It hurts!”
Yeshion struggled, writhing his body in hopes of finding a gap. Hoping for a little space, he flailed his legs, his foot striking the man’s shin.
“Kuh!”
While the man was momentarily unsteady, Yeshion quickly turned his body, trying to escape through the gap.
However, when Yeshion tried to sit up, his leg was grabbed. As he tried to turn his head, the man tightened his grip, pulling Yeshion back down.
Yeshion’s chin slammed against the floor, and his face was dragged across the ground.
“Ah!”
Holding his aching chin, Yeshion turned his head.
The man, as if to prevent Yeshion from escaping, let go of his ankle and instead trapped him between his arms.
“What, exactly, do you want…?”
Could this person also wish for ‘Yeshion’ to die? Having been happy not to die by Eldis’s hand and even managed to clean in good spirits, his body trembled.
He did not want to die.
Annoyed by the situation without a proper solution, and partly scared of what this person might do to him, he spoke.
“If we could talk, maybe do or not do whatever, sh*t…”
Yeshion murmured as he curled up, the pain from his chin throbbing significantly.
Eldis had at least sent him off cleanly and painlessly. This bastard didn’t care if he was hurting, just kept looking.
That was when the man, after a long time of just watching Yeshion, moved.
The man’s hand moved toward the lower part of Yeshion’s curled-up body, pressing a slightly protruding part through the soft fabric before attempting to slide his hand inside his pants.
“You… crazy!”
Startled by the sensation of being touched in a sensitive area, Yeshion screamed and swung his arms. Instinctively, Yeshion’s arm struck the man’s face.
“…..”
The man just looked down and glared at Yeshion.
“This… this means….”
“…..”
“I-it was you who touched me first!”
As he shouted innocently, the man’s head tilted to the side. Now every small movement was terrifying.
As Yeshion struggled once more to escape, the man grabbed his shoulder and bit into Yeshion’s neck.
“Ah!”
The chilling sound of teeth piercing skin was unmistakably heard.
The pain in his neck overwhelmed Yeshion with fear. Was he about to be devoured by this unknown figure?
He was scared.
Yeshion continued to beat on the man’s shoulder, who was still clamped onto his neck.
“Let go! L-let me go!”
Involuntary cries escaped him.
He couldn’t understand what was happening, who this person was. Tears welled up from the sorrow, reddening his eyes.
“Eldis, you son of a b*tch…”
Had Eldis, not wanting to kill him with his own hands, sent him here instead?
There were indeed many ways to die. Just when he thought he had escaped death, now he was about to die from a bite from a mindless human.
“I don’t want to die…”
As he beat on the man’s shoulder, Yeshion’s arms gradually lost strength. Merely having his neck bitten, his strength ebbed away.
It felt almost like the moments just before death.
‘One can die from being bitten, too.’
Internally, Yeshion cursed at Eldis, resolving to beg not to be sent to clean the underground dungeon again if he lived through this.
With that final thought, Yeshion’s arm, which had been hitting the man’s shoulder, went limp.
