“Miss Dahlia, everyone will think like me. No one is unaware of how charming, kind, and gentlemanly His Grace is.”
Leah quickly offered an explanation.
With a slightly reddened face, she continued, seeming to be conscious of others’ gazes.
“It’s only natural for one’s eyes to be drawn to such a remarkable person, right? I hope I’m not causing any inconvenience. Especially given the past incidents.”
Leah brought up the gossip articles deliberately.
Dahlia took Leah’s hand.
“Oh, don’t worry. My brother hasn’t mentioned Miss Leah to me at all.”
This implied that Mikhail wasn’t paying any attention to her.
“My brother’s mind is completely occupied with his new wife; he won’t even notice others.”
Leah’s smile trembled at the comforting words, her mouth twitching slightly.

Mikhail turned his gaze towards Dahlia while conversing with others.
Fortunately, it seemed she was engaging well with everyone.
Then, a familiar face caught his eye.
This person shouldn’t be here, or anywhere at all.
“Why is she here…?”
Noticing the gaze, the person waved at him. Mikhail placed a hand on his forehead.
“Boestin, how did you end up here?”
“I just grabbed anyone and pretended I was part of the group.”
“You must know where this place is. Acting so recklessly is not like you.”
“Is that a compliment? Thanks. Well, you see, this mess happened because you contacted me out of the blue.”
Boestin laughed heartily. The light brown hair and green dress suited her surprisingly well.
Seeing her dressed up, after only knowing her in the academy uniform, felt strange.
“Showing up in clothes that don’t even suit you.”
“I didn’t get an invitation, so I just walked in. Plus, about Dahlia’s medicine, um.”
“Talk about it somewhere else.”
“Ugh, fine.”
Boestin recoiled in shock as Mikhail shooed her away.
Without being able to enjoy the party, Boston was led out to the garden by Mikhail.
“When do you plan to fix that terrible attitude of yours?”
“I’ve lived like this my whole life; do you think I’ll change? Just accept it. I came to give you what you asked for.”
“It’s supposed to take a week, you said.”
“You looked in a hurry, and it’s about Dahlia, after all.”
Boestin was well-acquainted with Dahlia’s condition. She had majored in pharmacology and even published a thesis on manic disorders.
Her improvement was largely due to Boestin’s efforts.
“You know how hard it is to find this medicine, right? It’s not available anywhere, and if something goes wrong, I’d be investigated too.”
“Boestin, don’t you owe me a favor?”
“Look at you. People never change. Always threatening. Why did your wife even marry you?”
“Stop the nonsense and just give me the medicine.”
Boestin handed over the medicine.
“But it’s been a while since you moved from Valoh to Bartsch. How have you managed without the medicine until now?”
“Using the method you taught me.”
“It seems you had plenty of tea leaves. If you need more, I can send some. Finding more medicine like this will take time.”
Mikhail nodded.
“By the way, I’m a bit hurt. You didn’t even send an invitation to the wedding, and you made me come with some stranger on my arm.”
“You came on your own accord.”
“Of course. Where’s your wife? You should at least introduce her.”
“Why should I?”
“Because I’m your only friend? If your wife knew you had even one friend, she might see you differently.”
“That’s my concern, not yours. And why are you even my friend?”
“Anyone who goes to school together is a friend.”
Mikhail shook his head at Boestin’s feigned casualness.
The situation wasn’t resolved. Once the guests at the mansion realized someone had arrived, the social scene would be abuzz.
“Stop causing trouble and leave.”
“How heartless! I’ve arranged a place to stay, so I don’t need your help. I’m going to see Dahlia and then leave right away.”
Mikhail’s face grew stern, but Boestin seemed indifferent.
He tucked the envelope with the medicine into his coat.
“Your Grace!”
Byne rushed over. His expression looked urgent.
“What’s going on?”
“The Miss…”
“Lead the way. What about the others who saw?”
“There was no one around. It happened in a place with people, though.”
“What happened? Is Dahlia in trouble?”
Boestin followed them, and Mikhail quickened his pace.

Emilia couldn’t believe her eyes.
The Duke looked like someone completely different from the man she knew.
The woman conversing with him was someone Emilia had never seen before.
Startled by the sight of the Duke smiling and chatting so comfortably with this stranger, Emilia missed her chance to intervene and ended up hiding away.
Though she had no choice, she found herself eavesdropping on their conversation.
Though the distance made it hard to hear clearly, she thought she caught something about a debt and someone coming to repay it.
It was the first time Emilia had seen Mikhail with such an easygoing expression. Despite the crumpled look on his face, he seemed engaged in the conversation, meeting the woman’s gaze.
But the stranger…
‘She’s not from Bartsch.’
