Mikhail, too, must have accepted this absurd proposal, thinking it would benefit him.
“You can terminate the contract. If you don’t like it, there’s nothing we can do. Those in prison will all die, and the king’s mercy will end there.”
She believed that they would escape, at least as well as others did. Her father’s and her family’s lives depended on her. The fact weighed on her, suppressing her.
There was no doubt that the forces that supported Johannes had been captured.
Emilia tightly shut her eyes. The voices of people desperately begging for their lives before being executed echoed in her ears, disorienting her.
Once again, her fingertips trembled.
“Are you using the lives of others as leverage against me?”
“Calling it leverage is an exaggeration; we’re just discussing the facts.”
“…I really want to ask. Do you truly want to enter into a marital bond with me?”
“Don’t get delusions. It’s not because I like you.”
I find you repulsive as well.
Emilia closed her eyes for the last time, feeling the throbbing pain at the back of her neck along with her burning red eyes filled with hatred.

Emilia woke up on the bed. The pain in her neck still persisted.
“…You bastard.”
She muttered the curse softly, and as she opened her eyes, the sight of the room greeted her. A lace curtain covered the bed, and a figure was sitting on a chair. Soon after, a chilling voice echoed in her ears.
‘What is this?’
She, with a bewildered expression, looked around and then locked eyes with a man standing outside the curtains.
Black hair and violet eyes. It was Adrian Konrad.
Instinctively, she pulled herself to the end of the bed and gripped the blanket, eyeing him warily.
‘No way, no way…!’
Had she been thrown into Adrian’s bedroom because she had rejected the marriage proposal?
Emilia’s face turned pale. Adrian, pleased with her fearful appearance, chuckled and spoke.
“It looks like you’re awake. I would have been delighted by the union of our two families, of course, it’s a pity. It would have been quite interesting if you had become a part of my mustress, wouldn’t it?”
He didn’t take his eyes off her, and his unwavering gaze slowly traveled from her toes upward.
Emilia turned her head away from Adrian’s predatory gaze. As she did, she noticed a stranger standing still outside the curtains.
“Wear a more pleasant expression, Duke Heinrich. You’ve been in the royal court before, haven’t you? Just in case, if you end up despising this person here and kill her, I might get into trouble.”
“I understand.”
“Enjoy yourself. It’s your first night, after all. Wouldn’t you be happy if you thought of it as a reward I’m giving you?”
How romantic it is that the reward for the loyalty is the daughter of the enemy.
Adrian mused with a pleased smirk. His upturned lips remained unchanged as he reveled in the pleasure. When he caught a glimpse of the slender figure behind the curtain, his mood took a peculiar turn.
Only candlelight illuminated the room, making it hard to see her clearly, but every time the flame flickered in the wind, her body was revealed, causing his mouth to water.
Her calves flowed smoothly from her thin ankles and the short slip allowed a hint of flesh to peek through. As it hiked up her knees, an intimate place hidden from view between her legs kept his imagination running.
If she were his mistress, he would have torn the curtains away immediately and spread her legs, burying his face in that sweet, moist place.
Even just the thought of it made him ache below. He ran his tongue across his dry lips while eyeing the tautly stretched fabric of his pants.
“It’s regrettable, no matter how you look at it.”
At Adrian’s voice, she felt a rush of embarrassment. Her green eyes filled with hatred were directed at the two people standing outside the curtain.
‘These beastly men.’
Shortly after, a chilly sensation swept through her entire body. It was only then that she lowered her head and looked at her own body.
‘Crazy bastards!’
Emilia barely swallowed the curse that almost burst out of her mouth, then yanked the blanket tightly.
Her face grew hot at the sight of her attire, consisting of nothing but a thin slip.
She hated it. This situation was something she hadn’t anticipated at all. Her face turned crimson, tears welled up in her eyes.
Mikhail, who had entered through the curtain, didn’t say anything when he saw her on edge. He simply nonchalantly removed his jacket.
He undid the shirt buttons, his expression showing slight annoyance. Silence filled the bedroom.
Emilia felt her breath catch in her throat. She couldn’t figure out how to escape this situation.
“Take off your clothes. Unless you have plans to spread your legs and receive a seed from another man,” he muttered in a low voice.
His crude words caused Emilia’s eyes to widen.
“What did you just… say?”
Receiving a seed? Did he mean that if she refused him, she would receive the seed of an unknown man?
