She felt pleased that the situation he had anticipated didn’t unfold as he had hoped. Emilia couldn’t contain her laughter and eventually had to shield her face with a fan.
“You shouldn’t have come.”
It was satisfying. He unintentionally helped her.
While it was an inevitable situation, she relished the fact that she had given him a distasteful moment.
“Thanks to you, I learned some valuable information too. The fact that the king is lusting after the ladies.”
“And who might that be because of?”
Emilia’s expression stiffened at Mikhail’s words.
“You should have refused, shouldn’t you? I honestly don’t understand why you married me while harboring such contempt.”
The music spread throughout the ballroom. He extended his hand to her as if asking her to dance. If she refused here, people would spread rumors again.
Emilia lamented that she hadn’t quickly escaped this place.
“Can’t wipe that smile off, huh?”
“It couldn’t get any better than this.”
Emilia replied dryly with a cynical smile. The two of them danced along with the others, gracefully and powerfully dominating the stage despite never having rehearsed together before.
“It could have been better than this.”
“…”
Emilia’s eyes trembled anxiously. Somehow, she felt like he was about to say something vulgar again.
Mikhail lightly brushed Emilia’s back before pulling her in firmly. Cracks appeared on Emilia’s face as she leaned against him. Her body stiffened, and she accidentally stepped on his foot.
“Don’t act as you please.”
Emilia finally couldn’t hold back and added a comment.
“Dancing the same way is no fun. It’s the same with everything else.”
There was a little more time before the music ended. Emilia pretended to accidentally step on his foot. She wished he would at least shut up.
“It was a mistake earlier, but this one was intentional.”
“…”
His pretty, curled eyes didn’t stray from her. Emilia realized that responding to him seemed to bring him more enjoyment and decided to keep her mouth shut.
Even at this moment, he continued the dance unfazed, as if it didn’t matter what she did.
“That’s right. If you don’t want to get stepped on again, then shut your mouth.”
She shot him a look. In her heart, she wanted to push his hand away and leave this ballroom. It was regrettable that she couldn’t do that.
“You can leave the ballroom whenever you want. No one will stop you.”
“…”
Since this place was filled with people who wished she would disappear, there was no one to worry or be upset if she left, as he had said.
Emilia exerted some force into her hand that was slightly overlapped on top of his hand. She tried not to show any signs of concern about the large hand still on her back.
“Now you’re interesting to look at.”
Ha! He keenly noticed the subtle change in her expression and whispered softly.
“You have a strange hobby. If you enjoy seeing women making disdainful expressions, you should go to Delphora’s back alley.”
Delphora’s back alley was a discreet street where men secretly visited at night. There were women who would do anything men wanted for money.
“I don’t want to stick my manhood in who knows who has been going around between those legs. Above all… it seems you don’t know my other interests.”
The music reached its climax. Mikhail swiftly turned Emilia’s body and once again pressed himself close to her, whispering softly enough for his words to only reach her ears.
“How amazing your expressions are in bed. It’s quite the show.”
Her expression instantly turned severe. Disgust settled in her green eyes. As if he had anticipated it, he kissed her hand deeply in response.
His eyes still gleaming with amusement were an added bonus.

Lady Luther unfolded the letter and quickly read through its contents.
“Ha!”
A sigh escaped through her red lips. Things were going differently than Lady Luther had imagined.
“I can’t leave it like this.”
Mikhail didn’t just attend the party at Marquisate Kerren, he even danced affectionately with Emilia.
No matter how many times she read it, she couldn’t believe it. Had he really lost his mind?
“Despicable people.”
An anxious thought crossed her mind.
The power of passion was stronger than she had thought, and when one became aware of it, they often found themselves inadvertently falling for the other person.
Lady Luther wanted to kill Emilia, in truth.
She spared her not out of pity but for political reasons.
Who wouldn’t kill someone who might become a problem later if they had the chance? Emilia would undoubtedly become an obstacle for Adrian in the future.
“Aunt, are you that worried?”
