Emilia was curious about Dahlia’s intentions. While it seemed like she disliked her before, it didn’t necessarily feel that way now.
“Is there something you want from me?”
“Please take me to the party. In the Valoh Kingdom, I couldn’t make friends or attend parties because I was only studying. So, I’m really curious.”
“….But there’s no way.”
“Don’t worry about that. I’ll find a way.”
“Alright. If there’s anything I can help with, please let me know. And thank you for the gift.”
“You’re welcome. Before Brother comes back, I have to go to the annex. Let’s have tea together next time. By the way, that came from Brother’s jacket.”
With her hat back on, Dahlia left the garden.

Returning to her room, Emilia stared at the gift Dahlia had given her.
“Why would you give something from the Duke’s jacket to me?”
She was curious about the intention behind putting the gift in the box.
Her ruby-like red eyes sparkled as if she were looking at something.
‘She must want something from me.’
Emilia made up her mind and opened the box. Inside, there was a packaged medicine.
“….Medicine?”
Examining the medicine, Emilia suddenly stood up.
“Madam? Is there something wrong?”
“No, it’s nothing.”
She quickly put the medicine back into the box.
‘Why would the Duke use this medicine…?’
Emilia was bewildered. His actions seemed contrary to what he had said to her. He had mentioned the obligation of bearing a child, making sure not to neglect that duty and embracing her every week.
‘Just yesterday, he even…’
“Ha!”
Emilia’s teeth gritted suddenly.
He deceived her. If not, she couldn’t understand.
‘Did he use this or obtained it but didn’t use it?’
What matters is that it was in her hands now.
Emilia hid the medicine in her room.

Mikhail returned to the Duke’s residence looking tired.
The sky had turned golden unnoticed, and he stared blankly out the window.
“Would you like to have your meal?”
“Prepare it.”
“Will you dine with the Madam?”
“There are things to discuss, so yes.”
“Understood.”
Kartho hesitated but didn’t leave.
“If you have something to say, say it.”
“Miss Dahlia met with the Madam again.”
“She’s not one to listen just because you say it. Is there a problem?”
“Not at all. According to the maid, they had a conversation about the party while having tea.”
“What do you think? Do you think it’s right for Dahlia to be presented in social circles?”
“My thoughts align with yours, sir. It seems too hasty.”
“Well, golden hair is rare in the Bartsch Kingdom, so she might attract attention.”
However, he couldn’t keep her hidden at the mansion forever. Especially if the King visited the Duke’s residence, it would become increasingly difficult to conceal her.
“I plan to leave this place for a month after the wedding. I am thinking of taking Dahlia with me and leaving her at a resort during that time.”
“I don’t think she will comply.”
“She must comply. She should know how precious life is.”
“She has been hiding for too long. Now that she has returned to her homeland, her desire must have grown even stronger.”
“What should I do with a princess who still knows nothing about the world?”
“I’ll think of a good way. As for her hair color, couldn’t she just dye it to hide?”
“Dahlia has royal blood flowing deep in her bones. Naturally, she will disdain others and stand superior.”
Even if the hair color changes, the attitude and purpose will never change.
“Oh, is the outfit I wore yesterday already in the laundry room?”
“Since the maid took it right away, it must have been laundered. Is there something you’re looking for?”
“Summon the maid.”
Kartho nodded and immediately called the laundry maid who was on duty yesterday.
Mikhail looked at the bewildered maid.
“Without checking, you just discarded it?”
“I-I apologize! I left it out, but it seems to have gotten mixed with other things.”
“Your Excellency, I’ll call for Ellyn to punish her.”
“She should receive punishment for handling the master’s belongings so carelessly.”
“Since the trash hasn’t been incinerated yet, I’ll ask her to find it.”
“There might not be a need for that. However, it seems like we need to re-educate the maids.”
Upon Mikhail’s words, the maid bowed deeply and trembled.
“Get her out of my sight.”
“Your Excellency, please forgive me!”
“Just hope for leniency from the next owner.”
Mikhail turned his gaze away. Seeing his indifferent face, Kartho immediately called a knight and dragged the maid out.
“Kartho, investigate whether the maids in the annex had any contact with her. It seems like someone played a prank.”
There has never been anyone among those working in his mansion who dared to touch his belongings even once. It was partly because of what Ellyn had taught them, but mostly because everyone knew his personality well.
So, the probability was high that the item in his jacket ended up in Dahlia’s hands due to her tricks.
“I should invite Dahlia to a meal as well.”
“I will make sure to extend the invitation.”
As Kartho left the study, Mikhail leaned back in his chair, pondering as he bit on his cigar.
‘Where could the contraceptive pills have gone?’
