“She needs to rest for a few days. It seems like she was showing symptoms of dehydration,” the doctor’s words caused Dell to glance at Mikhail apprehensively.
Upon hearing that Emilia had collapsed, Dell, who had rushed to her side, hadn’t left her and was pacing around worriedly.
‘She was ill for a long time before.’
Could this turn into something serious?
Worried, Dell paid close attention to the doctor’s advice. Mikhail seemed unbothered, but at least Dell hoped Emilia would stay in the mansion for a while.
“Madam seems to have weakened considerably. Not having breakfast before leaving must have pushed her to her limit.”
Mikhail stood up from his chair. After gazing at Emilia, who was peacefully asleep, he left the room.
“It’s troubling, considering the wedding is just a few days away,” Dell remarked, and Ellyn sighed.
“Take care of yourself too. Acting like this, you won’t last long.”
“But Madam has no one else but me, and I have only her.”
“Then at least keep those feelings hidden in front of the Duke. If you want to stay here longer, you need to think carefully.”
“I’ll remember that.”
Dell gazed at Emilia lying on the bed, her hands clasped together.
Her appearance in the red dress was beautiful but somewhat chilling.
“Madam, please take care of yourself,” Dell prayed earnestly. If the stars were listening, she hoped they would dissuade Emilia from confronting the Duke.
“Dell.”
“Kyak!”
Dell was so startled she almost screamed.
“You’re awake? Are you alright? I’ll call the doctor!”
“No need. I feel better now, so don’t cause a fuss.”
“But…”
“I have a request. It’s a simple one; I hope you can do it.”
“Tell me! I’ll do whatever I can to help.”
Emilia quickly wrote down the names of some books on a piece of paper.
“Could you find these for me? As you can see, I need to rest in my room for a few days.”
Dell quickly scanned the list of books.
“Why are you suddenly looking for…. these?”
“I need to research something. These books are essential.”
“And they mustn’t be found out by the Duke.”
“Of course.”
Del hesitated. This was the first request Emilia had made of her.
Getting the books wasn’t the issue. It was the nature of the books Emilia was looking for that was problematic.
“These books must not be discovered by others.”
Emilia said with a serious expression and nodded firmly. Dell grabbed her coat and tucked the note securely in her pocket.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to get them!”
Though she said this, Dell knew it wouldn’t be easy. The books Emilia requested were banned.

Adrian scratched his eyebrow. Sending someone to the Duke’s mansion had only brought back undesirable news.
“So, it seems the Duke and Duchess are living separately in the annex? But the duke visited her at night and didn’t leave till dawn?”
Cannes relayed everything he had observed.
“However, I did not see the maid you mentioned.”
“The maid wasn’t seen, then.”
Adrian smirked, paused his writing, sealed the letter with wax, and handed it to a waiting servant.
“Take this to Duchy Heinrich.”
After the servant left, Adrian stood up.
“I guess it’s time for a personal visit.”
He motioned for Cannes as he wore his jacket.
“Bring Hannes. Have him follow.”
“Understood.”
Adrian headed to the prepared carriage, then changed his destination.
“First, let’s stop by County Chevron first.”

County Chevron estate was bustling with the unexpected visit from the king.
“It’s an honor to have you visit our humble home. I’m embarrassed we weren’t prepared.”
“That’s alright. I’m only here to pick up Leah.”
Leah was puzzled by Adrian’s sudden appearance and his declaration of taking her with him.
“Do I need to go?”
“Yes, I need you to accompany me somewhere. I’ll give you time to get ready, so dress appropriately.”
Leah widened her eyes in surprise. Adrian walked towards the living room, leaving those remarks behind.
“Oh, and it’s to the Duchy, just so you know.”
Hearing that, Leah’s eyes sparkled prettily as she gracefully made her way to her room with her maid.
The dress, adorned with thin layers of pale pink chiffon, fluttered with every step, resembling a flower swaying gently in the breeze.
“Could it catch a butterfly, I wonder.”
Adrian had a mischievous smile.

“This isn’t it. Bring another one.”
“Miss, how about this dress?”
It was already the fifth time she had changed. It was hard to choose. Whenever one seemed right, another aspect didn’t fit.
“This won’t do.”
She needed to captivate at first glance. Therefore, something mediocre was out of the question.
“Leah. His Majesty is waiting, isn’t he?”
“But, Mother, if you knew what aunt asked me to do, you would understand.”
Dresses scattered around the room brushed against her feet.
“I need something more special.”
