I Tamed the Monstrous Prince - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
“Can the blood of the Great Sage truly suppress the dragon’s blood?”
He’d always thought such things were mere legends.
“They actually gave a daughter of the Duke’s house to that imbecile?”
“…The thing is….”
His aide glanced around before lowering his voice. The Flores family had orchestrated it. It wasn’t surprising. Who would give their daughter to a madman, a prince believed to be cursed? No sane family would sacrifice their daughter in such a marriage.
A bast*rd prepared by the Flores family for this marriage. Perhaps because of their similar origins, a bitter taste filled Matthias’s mouth.
“What does the Holy See have to say?”
“They’ll likely send a congratulatory message soon.”
The marriage, sanctioned by the Holy See, would further solidify the first prince’s position. Matthias tapped his fingernails against the desk.
“Mother must be… furious.”
“That is….”
The Moonstone Palace must be in an uproar. Considering his mother’s disdain for the first prince, it was a reasonable assumption.
“A descendant of Cosimo….”
The name sounded like a distant legend. Legends, magic—all relics of a bygone era. What meaning could they possibly hold in this age? Matthias chuckled, a hint of mockery in his voice.
“Are you saying that a descendant of Cosimo is truly different?”
What special ability did this woman possess to control that madman? Had she, by some miracle, tamed the beast with ancient magic?
“I should have attended the wedding.”
He had no interest in watching a woman die, but if she had survived, the story was different.
“Find out more about this woman.”
“As you wish.”
His aide bowed his head and quietly retreated. Matthias found himself strangely intrigued by this woman.
‘Well, I’m sure I’ll meet her soon enough.’ He hummed a light tune, a thoughtful expression on his face.

“Confess at once!”
The bedroom was filled with commotion. The familiar voices of the maids who had dressed me were raised in a frenzy.
“Delphina stole His Highness’s jewels.”
A brown-haired maid collapsed to the floor, sobbing. She shook her head vehemently, pleading,
“Your Highness, I swear I didn’t do it!”
Tears streamed down her face. She looked utterly pathetic, huddled on the floor.
“Delphina did it!”
“That girl!”
Everyone pointed their fingers at Delphina. But I knew. The one who stole the jewels was actually….
I opened my eyes. It was morning.
‘I just had a strange dream.’
What was it about? The faces, the details of their clothing, even the buttons, were so vivid it felt real.
‘But it was just a meaningless dream.’
“Mmm.”
Cesar slept soundly beside me, his breathing even. With his eyes closed and still, he looked like a handsome nobleman.
Sleep still clung to me. I gently stroked his curly hair before closing my eyes again. Just as I was drifting back to sleep, I heard a commotion outside.
Murmuring voices, arguing. And what sounded like someone weeping.
“Confess at once!”
“I swear I didn’t do it!”
The piercing noise echoed through the bedroom.
“What’s going on?”
Startled, I sat up. Voices from outside drifted in.
“Your Highness, did you cough?”
Suddenly, a group burst into the room without knocking. All their faces were familiar. They were the same maids who had prepared me for the wedding.
“Grrr.”
Before I could ask what was happening, a low growl filled the room. It was Cesar.
“Eek!”
The maids shrieked, startled by Cesar’s sudden, threatening movement. In their fright, they spilled some of the water from the basin they carried, soaking the expensive rug. A brown-haired maid stepped forward, flustered.
“We apologize! We didn’t realize His Highness was… here.”
“Grrrr….”
Her apology only seemed to agitate Cesar further. He thrashed, as if about to lunge.
“Cesar, no!”
I cried out, stopping him just in time. If I hadn’t intervened, he might have lashed out again, just like yesterday.
Thankfully, he calmed down at my words, preventing further incident.
“What is all this commotion?”
