I Transmigrated as my Bias's Messenger Bird - Chapter 20
“Oh? Keisha, what are you doing? Come inside.”
Reina, who opened the door and found us, greeted us warmly. We followed her inside and were greeted by the sight of a small, sunlit office. Stacks of papers were piled up on a large desk in front of a sunny window.
Taking her seat with the window behind her, Reina picked up a few papers from the stack with a familiar gesture and motioned for us to sit in front of her. We awkwardly took our seats.
“So…you are Keisha’s guardian…”
“Yes, her brother. Well, not by blood. However, even if we’re not siblings because of our different bloodlines, I am Keisha’s guardian..”
‘What a load of bull.’
Ventus spewed strange words as if wings were attached to his mouth. Why is he like that?
Remaining poker-faced, Reyna set down the documents and said, “…Yes. Then please sign here.”
Ventus swiftly pulled the offered documents and signed without bothering to read the contents. Surprisingly, with each spot where he signed, a strange light sparkled and emanated.
Taking the papers back and squinting at the signatures, Reina looked at Ventus and asked.
“…Flash magic?”
As if he was waiting for Reina’s reaction, Ventus chuckled softly. “Ah, in the human realm, they call this flash magic, right? We call it the moon’s blessing. It doesn’t do much, but it adds beauty and dignity to the written word.”
So it’s just useless crap basically.
“Ah, non-functional magic.”
“Non-functional…?”
“Yes. It has no function.”
Ventus looked shocked at Reina’s matter-of-fact response, but Reina remained unfazed.
“The enrollment process is complete. The new term begins next week… Okay, well, you’re free to go then. See you later, Keisha.”
I could tell she was in a bad mood. I dragged Ventus, who was sulking, out of the room, searching for words to retort. A non-functional spell indeed. It seems like the perfect thing to make fun of.

“The preparations are nearly complete. The magic scrolls requested by the Imperial Knights have been successfully crafted , and the blessing spells for the Otherworlders are also being prepared.”
In a spacious first-floor office, about twenty people were seated around a long table, listening to reports. Rai, seated at the end of the table, followed something outside the window with his gaze. From left to right. Slowly moving, Rai’s gaze settled on two elves.
A male elf with emerald-colored hair strode ahead as if in a hurry, followed by a female elf with hair the color of the sky, trotting along, smiling widely as she patted the man’s back.
As if that weren’t enough, the man kicked a snow-covered tree in what seemed to be anger, and both he and the woman were hit with a snow bomb over their heads. Still, the woman laughed.
Shaking off the snow from her hair, she approached the man again, brushing off the snow that had fallen on his head and shoulders, saying something. At that moment, the man abruptly turned his head, and in response, the woman burst into giggles once more.
Rai, staring into the woman’s cheerful face, spoke.
“I don’t remember…”
“What?!”
At Rai’s words, the mage who was reporting to him dropped his report in dismay.
“I, I…… this is, um, what I told you in my regular report last week…….”
“Never mind that. Has there been any instance of elves coming to Alucina in the last 10 years?””
“No…?”
“Not officially, I’m sure, but unofficially. Have you received any reports?”
At Rai’s words, the mages in the council chamber murmured. The elves are a closed off and arrogant people who rarely venture into the realm of humans. If they did, it would only be a significant event worthy of historical records.
The last such event occurred some 35 years ago. An elf prince came to propose to the princess of Alucina.
The Emperor rejected the proposal. But that night, the princess is said to have followed him out of the empire. It turned the country upside down, so much so that history books have labeled it the Widow’s Woe.
The elves have not been seen in Alucina since.
There are many who regard elves as mystical beings, so if any elves had come to Alucina personally, rumors would have undoubtedly circulated. However, none of the individuals in the office had heard any rumors about elves appearing in Alucina.
“There haven’t been any.”
Everyone in the room reiterated the same response, but even as they spoke, Rai, who had been gazing out the window, narrowed his eyes.
Rai carefully observed the face of the woman who was deftly dodging the snowballs thrown by the male elf while laughing. From the crimson eyes to the pointed ears, the skin as white as snow and the hair that shimmered ever so slightly – she couldn’t be anything else but an elf. That much was certain.
However, this being was entirely absent from his memory. So, why would someone know such intimate details about his life?
“Reina.”
“Yes, My Lord.”
Reina answered Rai’s summons immediately.
“Has the elf student completed the admission process?”
“Yes. She just finished it with her guardian.”
“I see. Alright.”
No problem. He’ll just have to figure it out.
The corner of Rai’s mouth curved into a faint smile.
