I Transmigrated as my Bias's Messenger Bird - Chapter 29
The new semester at the Royal Academy had commenced. For a moment, I thought it would be a good opportunity to indulge in the youthful nostalgia I’d forgotten in my professional life. However, that fleeting thought was abruptly interrupted by a deluge of rumors.
“The royal warehouse was robbed yesterday!”
“Really? Who would dare to….”
“I don’t know. My father said it’s the first time in Alucina’s history.”
Well, there goes my opportunity for youthful nostalgia. Instead, My heart was pounding in a different way. Although I didn’t know who their father was, the freshman was already aware of the incident that happened yesterday.
‘Wasn’t the theft executed flawlessly? How could they possibly already know…?’
Attempting to calm my pounding heart, I listened attentively with a poker face.
“The treasure His Majesty cherishes disappeared into thin air.”
“What is that?”
The freshman, who had been talking quite loudly up to this point, whispered, seemingly oblivious to his surroundings.
“Pisqator’s fishing rod.”
“The legendary fishing rod…!?”
“Yeah, that’s right. That’s why His Majesty is in a frenzy, demanding the Royal Knights immediately catch the culprit.”
“Really? Even the Royal Knights… It seems the Emperor is really furious.”
“Still, if Sir Leon takes charge, it’s only a matter of time before the culprit is caught.”
“Yeah. The Commander of the Knights has never failed a mission before.”
Wait a moment. Commander Leon… that’s the third male lead, right?
‘When I look at you… I forget the pain of my injuries.’
‘With this sword… I will always protect you.’
‘Will you… become the owner of my sword?’
Leon, who resembled a retriever in human form, was always by Mina’s side, silently watching over her with his bright brown hair and chocolate-colored eyes. Whenever Mina faced danger during certain events, it was often Leon who rushed to her aid first.
Surprisingly, encountering Leon was not that easy. Apart from his activities with the Knights, he wasn’t involved much in social gatherings. If he happened to appear at a banquet, he usually stayed quietly in a corner and then disappeared.
So there were three things you had to do to get to him. Get a job at an armory, support a mercenary during a Swarm event, and win a martial arts tournament. This way, you’ll be able to talk to him naturally when he comes to forge weapons or during the expedition camps. Winning the tournament provided a special event for personal training with the Commander of the Knights, significantly boosting his affection levels.
As such, he was a bit more challenging than Edin.
‘…Well, he wasn’t as challenging as Rai, though.’
But Rai specifically told me to keep my distance from both the Commander of the Knights and the High Priest. Why? Although I still didn’t know the reason, Rai was the one I needed to increase my favorability with, so I’d better listen to him.
“Apparently, today the Knights are starting an investigation from the Royal Academy.”
“Why?!”
“They found traces of mana at the scene. It means the culprit is someone who uses magic. Where else around here would you find someone capable of using magic other than this place?”
At this point, I think I’m going to have to go after that nameless freshman’s father. That’s a guy who’s going to tell me state secrets.
“Well, it could be the Tower Lord, couldn’t it?”
“Hey, dumb*ss. Would someone as powerful as the Tower Lord, a mage, just break into the Royal Warehouse to steal a fishing rod?”
“…Yeah. Unless you’re insane, I doubt it. The Academy is bound to have the occasional *sshole, and the Knights would be reasonably suspicious.”
“Yeah, if they catch the culprit, I’d like to see their face.”
…Hmm. They’re all being quite reasonable. But if I follow Rai’s advice and flee alone, won’t I become a suspect? Cold sweat began to form on my back.
For now, I should keep a low profile as much as possible.

I was taking the first class I ambitiously chose, “Understanding Deep-Sea Monsters.”
“Um… so, among deep-sea monsters, the most famous would be… Leviathan. While some might consider it as exclusively an aquatic creature… In reality, Leviathan is the highest-ranking dragon of the aquatic type…”
It wasn’t particularly challenging to set up the class schedule. Following Rai’s advice to keep my distance from the Knight Commander, High Priest, and even the Crown Prince, I eliminated some classes and ended up with these choices.
“Understanding Deep-Sea Monsters,” “The Psychology of Slimes,” “Practical Execution of Tasks.” These were classes I hadn’t encountered as options when I played as Mina in the game.
Looking around, everyone seemed to be falling asleep during the lecture. It seemed like a break from the ordinary atmosphere. There were no awkward greetings and everyone was either dozing off in their seats or taking notes, and I loved it. Sometimes I need a little quiet time like this.
“…So, starting from the next class… um… we’ll be heading to the nearby sea to search for monsters.”
“…What?”
The previously silent classroom began buzzing. I, too, in shock, collected my belongings and headed outside.
“Ah… I’m not so sure about this…”
A heavy sigh escaped my lips. Heading to the sea to search for monsters? According to the explanation, they mentioned something about wearing an air bubble magic contraption around the head for diving. Just thinking about it seemed like a huge hassle… This could be a problem. I hope something like self-immolation appears in Elkiore’s Grimoire.
I rubbed my forehead as I walked out of the building.
“…Are you Miss Keisha?”
A strange knight cut in front of me.
