I Transmigrated as my Bias's Messenger Bird - Chapter 37
After parting ways with Rai, I returned to my dorm room. As I sat there alone, pondering about the culprit, a message suddenly popped up with a buzz.
[Tutu: Haven’t you returned Coo yet?]
It was from the eagle. But I didn’t have time to deal with eagles right now.
[Today’s report: The Tower Lord had strawberry tart at the teahouse with me. Just so you know, I didn’t give it to him.]
I sent a quick report and went back to speculating about the culprit. A swift reply came back. Seems like the eagle doesn’t have much to do.
[Tutu: Can’t you do things properly? And what about Coo?]
Of course, I ignored it. He’ll come to me if it’s urgent.
At the moment, I had no clue or ability to guess who did it. So, I needed to get something… anything first…
‘Maybe?’
I pulled out Elkiore’s Grimoire. My lifeline. Please, let the book work its magic again today…
Excitedly, I placed my hand on the grimoire and waited, and holograms and other things appeared. Success!
[1-Star Amplification Spell – Able to speak loudly enough to be heard within 100 meters. Usable once per day.]
[1-Star Vision Sharing Spell – Can share vision with targets of 1-star or lower. Usable for 10 minutes a day.]
[1-Star Mind Reading Spell – Able to read the target’s mind for 1 second. Usable thrice a day.]
Hmm… That Amplification Skill, no matter how I look at it, seems pretty useless. That leaves the other two… Which one would be more useful? The Vision Sharing Skill could be handy, but since I don’t know what falls under the 1-star or lower category, I’m not entirely sure right now…
Hmm… Maybe it’s better to investigate with this one for now?
Yeah, I’ve made my decision.
[Skill Acquired! – 1-Star Mind Reading Spell.]
With this, I should be able to gauge positive or negative feelings to some extent.
As I was thinking to myself with pride, there was a soft knock on the door.
‘Who could it be? I don’t think there’s anyone who would come looking for me…’
Curious, I opened the door. Standing there with a bright smile was Alfie.
“…Alfie? What’s up?”
“The professor called out Keisha’s name today but you weren’t there, so I came to find you.”
“Huh? …Oh! Was this for the Psychology of Slimes class?”
“That’s right. I’m taking that class too. But since it seemed like Keisha didn’t show up, I came to look for her.”
God, I’d completely forgotten. Well, considering I was under investigation for a murder I didn’t commit, I had bigger things to worry about than the psychology of a slime… But Alfie was kind enough to look for me. I guess I shouldn’t have missed it.
“Keisha…Is something wrong?”
“Huh? No. Thanks for coming. Let’s go.”
“Alright. It’s the building right next door. Just follow me!”
If I wanted to avoid giving away that I was searching for the murderer, I should probably keep up with my academy life properly.
‘But where do I start looking?’
Rai had clearly told me to find the point where it all began, but where? Right now, it’s just a baffling mystery.

“My Lord, did you summon us?”
The top floor of the tower. Melli and Per, who have been summoned by the Tower Lord, stood at attention.
“For the time being, raise your stealth magic to level 4 and keep an eye on Keisha.”
“Yes!”
“Understood. But with a 4th level concealment, even moderately skilled apprentice mages wouldn’t be able to detect it…”
“Miss Keisha didn’t even notice us with 2nd level stealth. Do you have any…concerns?’
Rai’s absent gaze shifted towards Per as he idly stared at a crystal orb on his desk.
“Concerns?” Rai chuckled softly.
‘I’ll probably have to check if there are any rats in this set up.’
It would certainly be helpful to check.
“Have you heard anything about the recent incident at the Royal Warehouse?”
Melli and Per exchanged glances. Rumors about the Royal Warehouse were well-known even within Mage Tower. Not only was the theft of the Emperor’s treasures a daring feat, but the murder of the royal guard had sparked numerous speculations about the perpetrator.
“W-We’ve heard a bit about it!”
Per answered. Rai lightly nodded, looking at Per.
“Then this conversation might be quicker. There’s a high chance that the person who killed the guard might be around Keisha.”
“What?!”
“You don’t think they’d hurt an exchange student…!”
They exclaimed in shock.
Rai nonchalantly continued, “Well, we’ll have to keep an eye out to know their true intentions.”
“What if we find something?” This time, it was Melli who asked.
Rai tilted his head slightly at the question and responded with a cryptic smile. “Don’t take action, just observe.”
“Just observe… What exactly do you mean?”
“Yes. I’m curious to see how far they’ve set things up.”
“Yes, understood.”
“We’ll report back later.”
Melli and Per nodded respectfully and withdrew. Rai stood up and walked to the window.
“There are those in this empire who are hostile to the elves, and they are everywhere…”
His gaze turned cold as he stared in the direction of the Alucina Imperial City.
