I Transmigrated as my Bias's Messenger Bird - Chapter 39
At the Academy’s central garden, a group of students were just coming out of class. Mina spotted Edin among them and smiled.
“Thanks to His Highness the Crown Prince, I did well in class today. I appreciate your help.”
“I simply did what needed to be done. Perhaps… if you have time, would you like to take a stroll?”
“Yes, I’d like that.”
Mina and Edin, done with their Imperial History class, stepped outside the building.
“Do you happen to like gardens? If it’s okay with you, I can take you to one.”
“That sounds great! Oh, but…”
“Hmm?”
Mina, hesitating a bit, cautiously spoke up.
“By any chance… does the Tower Lord also visit that place often?”
“The Tower Lord…?”
When Edin asked with a puzzled expression, Mina responded with an oddly embarrassed face.
“Ah, yes. When I first came here, the Tower Lord personally greeted me, but I never got to thank him properly. So…”
“Ah, I see… Well, the Tower Lord is often so busy that it might be hard to run into him, but I heard he occasionally visits the maze garden.”
“I see! Thank you.”
Mina smiled brightly. Just then, someone approached and bowed.
“Hello, Your Highness, and Miss Mina.”
“Oh, Leon. How’s the investigation going?”
“Yes, it’s going.”
Leon politely nodded, then his gaze shifted to Mina.
“We met briefly at the palace the other day, and I’d like to introduce myself again. I’m Leon Tarius, Knight Commander.”
“Nice to meet you. Um… what should I call you?” Mina asked, and Leon smiled sweetly.
“Just call me Leon.”
“Alright, Leon.”
Mina smiled, and Leon smiled back. Edin, watching them, also smiled.
At that moment, when everything was beautiful and perfect, a shout came from the distance.
“One! Two! One! Two! I am a slime! I am a slime! Soldiers, line up here!”
The three of them turned toward the sound.
***
Damn it.
If this is the prestigious Royal Academy, shouldn’t they at least make us transform into full-body slimes? But the slime doll mask handed by the muscular professor barely reached my damn thighs.
“Plop! Slurp…Plop! Like this! Slurp…Plop!”
It seemed our professor was so obsessed with academic fervor that he had completely thrown away his social dignity. As we walked along, we were told that we had to reproduce the slime’s movements, and we jumped up and down at the sound of plopping.
“Hey, soldiers! Put more energy into your slurping…plop!”
The professor, who was walking alone, looked back and criticized our slow movements. Plop! It was a moment when I accidentally turned my head while jumping to the sound.
“…Hmm.”
I looked at Mina, who covered her mouth in surprise, Edin, who crossed her arms with a wary expression, and Leon, who was staring at me with his usual poker face. The moment I saw them, chills ran down my spine.
‘No, but still…’
Anyway, right now, all they see is just below my thighs. They won’t know who I am in this state, so this is fine.
“Student Keisha! Jump with more vigor. Slurp…plop!”
Um, Professor? Why are you calling the slimes their real names all of a sudden?
Whether it was the professor’s shout or the fact that Mina and Edin turned back to look at me, even Leon, who had always been expressionless, had narrowed his eyes.
…Eh, screw it.
“Slurp! Plop!”
With a spirited movement, as if I’d turned into a slime, I dashed out of the group, moving ahead.
“Huh? Hahaha!! Keisha! You’re finally into it!! You’re doing great!! That’s right!! Slimes don’t synchronize! That’s the point!! Everyone, learn from Keisha!!”
‘I’d sell my soul right now for the ability to knock out a professor…’
I put more strength into my thighs and moved forward. Yes, I am a slime. Clear the way, don’t mess with me. As I passed the three of them, chanting “Slurp! Plop,” I heard a voice from a short distance away.
“Are you Keisha…one of those elves?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
I glanced back to find Edin staring at me with wary eyes. It’s a bit unfair, but it’s understandable. I’ll give him that.
As I tried to pass by calmly, a voice interjected, “There’s talk about a crazy elf… something’s not right. Mina, it’s better not to get too close to the elf.”
“An elf…”
Mina glanced at me with curious eyes, and Edin subtly positioned Mina a bit behind himself, indicating indirectly that he’d protect her. Calm down, I won’t hurt you.
Beside those two stood Leon, quietly observing me. Then, narrowing his eyes, he clenched his fist as if making a silent vow. He didn’t have to say it out loud for me to know what he was promising to himself.
‘I’m telling you, I’m not the culprit. Stop suspecting me, you suspect junkie…!’
I passed by the three, trying to appear as composed as possible, concealing my inner thoughts.
In reality, I was actually closer to being mentally disassociated. I just wanted to get the hell out of here.
