I Transmigrated as my Bias's Messenger Bird - Chapter 43
In a forest where the screams of mages echoed from afar, Rai stood with his arms crossed, observing them.
“Hmm….”
He looked somewhat uncomfortable. At that moment, the venomous dragon emitted its green mist once again.
Cough!
“Everyone, don’t breathe!”
“Isn’t there any backup with mana left?!”
The poisoned mages struggled, their bloodshot eyes revealing their dire state. Then, one wounded mage staggered towards Rai.
“…Cough, Tower Lord… Contrary to expectations, a 5th-level venomous dragon appeared.”
“I’m aware.”
“The current extermination team was structured based on the 4th level… It seems the extermination itself will take quite some time.”
This was a slaughter for the apprentice mages’ promotion test. Normally, a senior mage would accompany them as an examiner. But this time, remarkably, the Tower Lord was present.
That fact alone made the apprentice mages taking the trial nervous. However, unexpectedly, an exceedingly powerful target emerged.
In cases like this, it was customary for everyone to try to finish the job, even if they are seriously injured. In return, there were special rewards for defeating such a powerful foe.
Everyone was aware of this tradition. Therefore, despite the likelihood of a long battle, they were determined to see it through to the end. If only granted permission by the Tower Lord…
“I forbid it.”
“We… We can do this!” a frantic mage shouted. “If you’d just believe in us, just once…”
But Rai calmly stated, “We need to finish this within 5 minutes. Can you manage?”
“That, that’s… difficult. If you could give us 5 hours… No, just 4 and a half hours!”
“Step aside.”
“What?”
Instead of a reply, Rai raised his right hand. A gentle breeze encircled him, seemingly from nowhere. As the wind blew and leaves started swirling, a vortex of light formed amidst the commotion.
“…Look at that!”
The mages on the ground felt an unusual surge of magic and looked at Rai. Currents of light swirled in the sky above him. As the whirl of light grew stronger, broken branches from nearby trees began to lift into the air.
“T-Tower Lord…! This is…!!”
The mages standing around Rai panicked as they hugged the surrounding trees to avoid being blown away.
‘…This, this is an 8th-level spell…! Are you casting 8th-level magic on a 5th-level dragon…?”
Rai’s expression remained calm even as everything around him was flying.
When the whirlwind reached the peak of its intensity, Rai clenched his fist as if breaking something. In that moment, a bright light burst out from between his fingers, and the whirlwind soared up into the sky.
It was that moment. The wind struck around the venomous dragon’s body, shaking the ground as it pierced through, striking the dragon’s torso.
ROOOAAARRR!
As the dragon screamed, Rai opened the fist he had clenched moments ago. The chunks of earth that had struck the dragon exploded, taking the dragon with them into the ground.
After the thunderous roar and the sandstorm subsided, only a massive crater remained where the dragon used to be. At the edge of it, mages clung to whatever they could, covered in sand.
“T-Tower Lord. What you just did… Wasn’t that an 8th-level destruction spell? Why did you use an 8th-level spell against a 5th-level dragon?” A disheveled sorcerer rushed out and shouted.
Rai shrugged it off. “We needed to finish this in 5 minutes.”
“What?”
Then, leaping lightly off the carriage, he said, “I’m calling it a day. I’ll leave first, so make your own way back.”
With that, Rai vanished in the blink of an eye.

When playing as Mina, I didn’t quite realize how tedious preparing for the royal banquet could be. Back then, Edin took care of all the dresses for me, so I was completely clueless.
“Keisha! I think this one suits you better!”
For formal events, Lolo, who should wear priestly robes, was more excited than me as she chose dresses. This was already the third dress. Although I appreciated Lolo’s efforts and kept changing, to be honest, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed.
“Isn’t the one from earlier prettier? What do you think, Alfie?”
“I think they’re all pretty! Keisha looks good in anything!”
Just as they were shouting with excitement, the shopkeeper walked up with a sour face and said with a heavy sigh, “…That’s an expensive one. Handle it with care.”
“Oops, sorry!”
“We’ll be careful!”
I had been feeling it for a while. Ever since we entered the shop, the owner had been eyeing us up and down, not even bothering to conceal their dissatisfaction.
‘This is an opportunity to sell to the nobility, but it’s just a bunch of foreign students and priests who don’t look like they can afford it.’
“Hey, I said don’t touch that! Oh, my goodness…”
“Oops… sorry.”
But why keep harassing us since earlier?
The owner, stroking his beard, intentionally dusted off the shelves around Lolo while sighing in a somewhat lamenting manner.
“…The world has truly changed a lot. Anyone can go to the banquets that used to be reserved for noble people, and now they want to…”
‘Now that’s just out of line.’
The prices for dresses at the village clothing store were laughably consistent. Even during gameplay, I bought these clothes just to fill my collection; they were never worn for any important events. Even the most expensive dresses here cost around 10 gold at most.
What’s even more amusing is that the most expensive dress wasn’t even made here; it was brought in from an outside designer, hence the high price tag. The rest were priced at around 90 silver, some even just 77 silver. And here I am with 1 million gold. Normally, in such situations, I’d mock the indifferent shop owner and go on a spree buying expensive clothes. But not this time. It would help increase their sales.
“If you’re not buying anything, then leave. It’s an important day so I can’t waste my time entertaining you.”
“Oh, right. Since it’s a big day, I can’t shop here.”
“…What?” The duster-wielding owner whipped around like he had heard something unbelievable.
I looked back at him nonchalantly. “I said I can’t shop here since it’s an important day. I forgot about it, thanks for reminding me.”
“…What did you say? What could you possibly want that you can’t get here?”
Instead of answering, I pulled out a huge 100 gold coin and showed it to the owner.
