“You still seem to have some composure if you’re thinking of other things. I’ll need to fill you up a bit more.”
No. Agatha tried to speak, but she had to bite her tongue as Cain pressed into her.
Her expectation that he would overlap their bodies facing each other was completely off the mark.
“Be quiet, Wife. If you make noise, the servants outside will hear.”
Thrown onto the bed in a prone position, Agatha took a startled breath as she felt the heavy weight settle on her. Cain quickly took position on top of her.
Agatha tried to tell him that it was his own noise that was disturbing, but all she could manage was a pained sound.
She bit down on the bedspread, trying to stifle any sounds that might please him, even though she couldn’t control the sharp pleasure coursing through her.
Cain showed no mercy. After a brutal, uncaring intrusion, he began moving roughly, not giving her body any time to adjust.
As Cain pressed into her, his weight bore down fully. Agatha, small and delicate, struggled to withstand the pressure of his large body.
With each increasing speed and force of his movements, Agatha reached her limit quickly.
“If you keep going like this, you’ll end up losing your teeth, Wife.”
Cain whispered as he observed her clenching her teeth harder with each swift motion.
If he truly cared about her body being harmed, he should have apologized for his roughness instead of chastising her to make noise.
She resented him for pretending to care, all the while looking down on her. Agatha bit the bedspread even harder.
“Let’s see how long you can endure this.”
It seemed her unusual reaction was provoking him. Cain, with a voice devoid of amusement, murmured and then intensified his movements far beyond anything before.
He surged in and out rapidly, coming and going with a relentless rhythm….making Agatha’s body sway like leaves in a storm.
Agatha’s small and delicate body was barely able to accommodate him completely. Two years ago, when they first slept together, Cain had been considerate of her weak condition and hadn’t pushed all the way.
But now, he was unrelenting and merciless, indifferent to any such considerations.
A fear of her body being damaged overwhelmed her. Cain, pushing her to her limits and forcing her to open her mouth in pain, grinned maliciously when Agatha lost her grip on the bedspread.
Her tears soaked the bedspread.
Had Cain seen her tears? Coincidentally, the moment she began to cry, he stopped moving. The bedroom fell silent in an instant as Cain ceased his movements.
She didn’t want to cry in front of him.
Agatha bit her lips so hard they almost bled, but once tears had started, they flowed uncontrollably. With his large, hot body still pressing down on her, Cain hugged her, his intentions ambiguous—comforting or mocking.
The weight on her back was still hot and showed no signs of diminishing.
Agatha buried her face deeply into the bedspread with her eyes closed.
She wanted to ask why he was doing this to her.
Why, on a day she had witnessed his infidelity with her own eyes, did he enter her bedroom? Why had he, who had avoided speaking a word and had even fled to a distant place, suddenly chosen to be with her?
Her mind couldn’t comprehend why he was now coming to her.

Despite this, the stormy time continued for what felt like twice as long. After enduring his relentless movements, Agatha fell into a deep sleep, as if unconscious. She woke up briefly in the middle of the night, but the effects of the sleeping medication were still strong.
As she drifted in and out of sleep, she was roused once again by Cain’s rough voice. She hadn’t noticed the strong smell of alcohol earlier due to her disorientation, but now, with her senses clearer, she realized the scent of liquor.
So he had come looking for her in his drunken state, Agatha thought with a bitter laugh.
He must have been so disturbed that he couldn’t bear to face a fake wife he didn’t love with a clear mind. As her resentment towards him turned into self-reproach, Agatha froze at the sound she heard.
“…Ter.”
Cain was calling another woman’s name.
The man who had just held her passionately and kissed her was now uttering another woman’s name. How could he be so cruel? The shock felt like a blow to the head, leaving her breathless.
Could it be that he sought her only as a substitute for his longing for another, fulfilling his desires through her? Using the alcohol as an excuse?
It seemed like a far-fetched leap, but no matter how she tried to rationalize the situation, that was the only conclusion she could reach.
He had left his beloved lover at the Emperor’s summons and returned unwillingly. Bound by imperial command and unable to leave the capital, he must have turned his longing for his lover into anger towards Agatha, cowardly avoiding responsibility and pressuring her to end their contract.
As she organized these thoughts, the tears she had struggled to hold back welled up again.
She felt even her tears were a waste. With that thought, Agatha forced herself to hold back her tears.
How long had she been lying there? Agatha realized she had to make the decision she had only been contemplating in her mind.
This was what it was like when there was no trust in a relationship. She could no longer maintain this meaningless facade.
