In the Doghouse - Chapter 117
“Courtney, wait, please. Just listen to me for a moment.”
“It’s too late for excuses.”
“Please, just for a second…”
Despite Richard’s desperate plea, Courtney didn’t even look at him. She abruptly pulled her hand out from his trousers.
Her palm was wet with his fluids, and his erxctixn hadn’t subsided in the slightest. For the first time in his life, Richard felt utterly humiliated by his own desire. He hadn’t meant to hurt her. He sighed deeply and took out a handkerchief, gently wiping her hand.
Courtney stared blankly at Richard as he meticulously cleaned her hand. That gentle touch—at first, it had been his kindness that moved her, not his perversions. The thought that it might not have been special at all made her feel sad, disappointed, and…
Furious. Very much so.
“You filthy pervert.”
“Well, yes, but the engagement wasn’t—”
Richard’s attempt to explain was cut short. Courtney grabbed the handkerchief from him and stuffed it into his mouth, silencing him. She scowled and spoke coldly.
“That mouth of yours is only good for sucking, so just keep it shut.”
Richard raised a hand to his mouth as if to remove the handkerchief, but Courtney’s glare grew even sharper. Instead of taking it out, he made the most pitiful face he could muster, but her expression remained as displeased as ever.
When Courtney reached for his lower body again, Richard shook his head from side to side. He might be a hopeless pervert, but he wasn’t foolish enough to ignore the gravity of the situation. He had no desire for a moment of pleasure if it meant being cast aside forever.
But Courtney, already enraged, wasn’t interested in any more excuses. Just as she was about to grab his manhood again, Richard suddenly dropped to his knees on the stone floor.
“What are you doing?” she asked, her tone incredulous.
Despite her exasperation, Richard clung to her knees, wrapping his arms around them as if terrified she might walk away.
Her sigh only made him more frantic. Like a lost puppy, he whimpered and rubbed his face against her legs.
“What are you doing, seriously?”
Her voice softened slightly, but Richard refused to let go. Still kneeling, he gazed up at her with desperate eyes.
Courtney sighed again and pulled the handkerchief from his mouth. Holding the damp cloth between her fingers, she spoke curtly.
“You have one minute.”
“We’re not involved. There’s nothing between us,” Richard blurted out.
Courtney frowned at his frantic explanation. Wasn’t it a bit too late for that? Her voice was icy as she continued.
“It’s a little late for that lie, don’t you think?”
“No, no. The engagement was the lie. It was just something brought up when she was born, more than ten years ago, and no one took it seriously. I didn’t mean to deceive you. I just didn’t think it was important enough to mention.”
Richard desperately laid everything bare, but the crease in Courtney’s brow only deepened. She glanced once at the closed door and then at the terrace outside before lowering her gaze again. Despite his pleading eyes, her heart remained cold. Her voice, calm and indifferent, fell like a weight over him.
“Then why did you tell me you were engaged to her?”
“It’s…”
Richard was at a loss for words. When he lowered his head to avoid her gaze, Courtney pulled her legs back, trying to free herself. Panicking, Richard grabbed her calves, squeezing his eyes shut as he confessed the truth from the bottom of his heart.
“It’s because… I wanted you to get mad at me… to punish me…”
Courtney froze. No response came, only the sound of her clicking her tongue in disapproval.
Richard, his head hanging low in shame, remained silent. He wanted nothing more than to be punished and forgiven, but he knew that was impossible. He cursed his body for not being able to distinguish between pleasure and punishment.
Courtney, her breath heavy with frustration, finally spoke.
“Look at me.”
Her voice was filled with gritted teeth. Richard flinched but didn’t immediately obey. Instead, he clung even tighter to her legs.
Courtney cracked her neck to the side, exasperated. Beating him senseless like she had done with Frederick earlier wouldn’t even satisfy her now. She grabbed a handful of Richard’s hair, forcing his head up.
“I said, look at me.”
As their eyes met, Richard’s eyelids trembled nervously. He feared her cold gaze more than her rough handling.
Courtney was at a loss. He had ruined all the points he had earned with one careless comment, and now, after provoking her, he was cowering in fear of her anger. None of it made sense. She was furious, but strangely, she didn’t hate him. What was she supposed to do with this foolish puppy of hers?
Richard must have misinterpreted her frustration because he immediately apologized in a pitiful voice.
“I’m sorry. I’ll accept any punishment…”
“But you’d enjoy that, wouldn’t you? Isn’t that exactly what you wanted?”
At her spot-on accusation, Richard lowered his eyes, unable to deny it.
