Irene Decided to Die - Chapter 63
Irene gazed at Burt intently.
He was, after all, the King of the North. Whatever Burt taught would undoubtedly be of great help to Noah in the future.
It seemed a bit like there was a hint of mischief, but it must have been her imagination. He wasn’t the type for such things.
“Please do.”
And so, Noah’s fate was decided.

They had no intention of staying in the village for long.
But they couldn’t leave yet because of Irene’s health.
The sudden fever she recently had wouldn’t go down easily.
“The effects of traveling a long distance seem to be catching up with her now.”
With Irene, the most important person, in this condition, the others gathered to plan the upcoming journey.
If they did things the same way as before, she might collapse again.
Thanks to this, Irene was enjoying some rare free time.
‘If you could call this free time.’
Wrapped in a shawl, she sat by the window, gazing up at the night sky. Today, the stars were visible since it was less cloudy than usual.
Irene disliked it. It made her feel like her once steadfast heart was wavering, and it unsettled her.
Then the sky clouded over again, and the stars disappeared.
‘I should head inside now.’
If she stayed longer, Lani or Burt would likely come and force her into bed.
Just as she was about to get up, she noticed a figure below.
She looked down to see who it was, but couldn’t identify them because they were deeply hooded.
“Saint! Why are you up?”
At that moment, Lani’s voice called out.
Irene turned back and closed the window. When she glanced outside again, the figure had vanished.
The two figures ran through the night, away from the village. Fortunately, they didn’t encounter any knights.
Adlen arrived at the secluded place and removed his hood.
“How do I look?”
Eugene asked Adlen.
“Your eyes are really red.”
“Yeah, and my hair’s black too.”
“That’s right!”
Adlen pressed his hand firmly over his heart.
“My heart is racing.”
“If it stops, you’ll die.”
“That’s not what I mean. Right now, my heart is pounding so hard.”
Seeing Adlen like this, Eugene couldn’t help but look resigned.
Adlen had fallen and despaired countless times, yet now he harbored new hope.
Perhaps the saint with red eyes could change their lives.
“We still don’t know what the saint is like. All we’ve seen is the appearance.”
The saint, with her ominous symbol, appeared as a frail woman. She didn’t look evil on the outside, but who knew what lay within?
“Still, she’s better than those who’ve ignored us so far.”
“Adlen, I understand how you feel, but let’s think calmly.”
“Ah! What about the attack?”
“Just remembered, huh?”
The heretic Lucy planned to ambush the saint on the path from the first village to the next.
That’s why they sought Adlen’s cooperation. It was really more of a threat disguised as cooperation, but still.
Until now, Adlen had thought it didn’t matter if the saint died, but now he had second thoughts.
“The saint must not die yet.”
“If that’s how you feel. But there’s no way to stop it.”
“There was an ally in that village, right?”
“The boy with the red eyes?”
“Yeah, should we try to get some information to him?”
“That’s impossible. The village is under tight surveillance, and he isn’t trained like us. Besides, he hasn’t been seen for days.”
No matter how much they searched around the village chief’s house, the boy was nowhere to be found.
“Did that damned chief’s son finally kill him?”
“With the paladins in the village, I doubt he’d dare to kill anyone.”
“Then where did he go?”
Adlen tilted his head in confusion.
“Yeah, I have no idea.”
Eugene was puzzled as well.

“Let’s start with a run.”
Burt took Noah to an open space behind the inn.
Originally cluttered with firewood, the space had been cleaned by the holy knights, turning it into a training ground.
“Run ten laps first.”
Noah nodded obediently and began running around the open space.
The area, cleared by the strength of the holy knights, was quite large. After just two laps, he was already out of breath.
Still, he didn’t stop.
Despite staggering, Noah managed to complete the ten laps before collapsing on the spot.
“Pathetic. Let’s call it a morning.”
Burt gave a cold assessment.
Though his words stung, Noah suppressed his feelings. He knew that Burt was far above him in status.
