Irene Decided to Die - Chapter 84
A maid they often saw guided them to the reception room. After waiting there for a moment, Ramiel appeared.
With her radiant blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, Ramiel looked the same as before.
“Ramiel!”
Shah-Naz seemed overwhelmed with emotion at the sight.
“You’re okay now.”
“Is that so?”
Ramiel smiled softly and sat on the sofa opposite them.
“Yes, I’m glad you’ve returned to your old self.”
It felt strange. Ramiel was certainly originally that kind of girl, but suddenly recovering like this?
Sage silently watched Ramiel.
“It’s been a while, Sage.”
“Yes, I’m glad to see you healthy, Ramiel.”
For now, Sage decided to continue the conversation.
They decided to have a conversation, but the content was trivial. Nothing significant came up.
“But I heard you’ve been going to the temple to confess lately.”
So Sage decided to bring it up first.
“Yes, I want to wash away all my past sins and be reborn.”
“What sins could you have! You’ve always lived so virtuously.”
Shah-Naz grumbled in response.
“That’s how you see it. Thank you.”
She seemed more mature than before. It seemed Ramiel had taken a step forward using this incident as a stepping stone. It appeared Sage’s worries were unfounded.
Only then did Sage join the conversation with a genuine smile. Everything was just a misunderstanding. That made Sage very pleased.

When the two kings had left, Ramiel sat back down on the sofa and sipped her tea.
The tea, with its sweet yet bitter taste, was something she had recently acquired. To be precise, it was something High Priest Roxon had acquired.
It contained a special ingredient, so subtle that even a king would have a hard time detecting it.
According to the goddess, it wasn’t poison but a medicine to purify the body.
The kings were currently under the influence of the false goddess, so it was necessary to free them. That’s why Ramiel had invited the kings and served them tea.
“Tasteless.”
Ramiel put down her cup and stared into space for a moment. Then she got up and prepared to go out.
“Are you going to the temple again today?”
“Yes, prepare the carriage.”
Once she had awakened High Priest Roxon, everything else became much easier.
Roxon persuaded some of the high-ranking priests who were with him, and they fell for his words.
There were still priests she hadn’t touched yet, but as long as Roxon remained the High Priest, they wouldn’t act on their own. She could persuade them again in the meantime.
The problem was the numerous lower-ranking priests, but the goddess helped her with that.
When she gathered them in the chapel where worship was usually held and showed them the presence of the goddess, they all turned their hearts.
Now, those who believed in the false goddess were gradually losing their place.
‘Goddess, I am working hard.’
Then Ramiel heard the voice of the goddess.
[But it’s still not enough.]
“Yes, I haven’t forgotten.”
[You must awaken the kings as well.]
“Yes, it’s a pity that the king of the North and the king of the East aren’t here, but I must open the eyes of the remaining two to the truth.”
[As expected, you are my one and only saintess.]
Saintess. What a blissful resonance it had.
Ramiel cupped her flushed cheeks with both hands and smiled.
“Yes, I am the one and only saintess.”
This world revolved around her, Ramiel.
Everyone was gradually learning the truth, and soon she would be able to proudly call herself a saintess.
[You are truly my precious child.]
Since meeting the goddess, each day had been filled with happiness. She wondered if it was even possible to be this happy.
[You must become even happier.]
“Yes, I will become even happier.”
Promising this to the goddess, Ramiel entered the temple.

Lower priest Jason had recently been living in fear.
He had missed a mandatory worship service due to an upset stomach, and things had been strange ever since.
As a priest, it was natural to serve the goddess, but everyone was excessively clinging to the goddess, almost like fanatics.
‘No, this is the right thing to do.’
Even as he thought this, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease. Especially when he saw priests moving with creaky movements, he wanted to run away.
‘They’re not puppets!’
Why would a person move with creaky motions!
Jason gritted his teeth.
He considered asking higher-ranking priests, but they were no different. Although they moved more naturally, their eyes looked like those of madmen.
The pressure was squeezing his chest more each day.
‘The High Priest might be different.’
He thought about it, but then shook his head. Could the High Priests not know about the changes in people? He must already be aware.
‘Then there’s no need for me to inform them.’
As he carefully walked down the corridor, he saw a familiar girl approaching from the opposite direction.
‘Ramiel.’
She was one of the former saintess candidates.
“Hello.”
Pretending nothing was wrong, he greeted her, and Ramiel tilted her head as she looked at him.
“Oh my, there’s still someone who hasn’t received the blessing?”
She then approached him, extending her hand. Jason tried to back away, but another priest appeared out of nowhere and grabbed his arm.
“It’s okay. You’re just returning to your original state.”
Everyone seemed insane.
