Irene Decided to Die - Chapter 91
The news of Guy’s escape reached Garan belatedly.
“He escaped?”
He had been quietly confined all this time; Garan couldn’t fathom what had spurred him to escape.
“Did he say anything?”
“The only one attending him was a mute servant.”
“I see. In that case, I’ll go check myself.”
There was a welcome banquet in the evening, but there was still time. Garan decided to visit the tower himself.
Entering the filthy, dilapidated tower was unpleasant, but he had no other choice.
Climbing the tall stairs and passing through the broken door, he saw the shattered fragments of handcuffs and shackles.
Even if someone else had broken the door, it was clear that Guy had broken the handcuffs and shackles. Garan could tell.
“Haha.”
Garan’s brief laugh turned into a fierce expression.
He had hated his brother since childhood. His brother, who monopolized their mother’s attention simply because he was born with the ominous symbol.
That’s why, as soon as their mother passed away, he confined him in the tower.
Some might ask why he didn’t just kill him if he hated him so much, but he knew that sometimes living was more painful.
‘And now he’s escaped.’
He wanted to mobilize people to capture him immediately, but the timing wasn’t right. For now, he thought it best to discreetly send a few knights.
“Find him. Find him and bring him back.”
When he was found, Garan planned to make him suffer so much that he would think his previous confinement was happiness.
Now, Garan had the power and capability to do so.
“He’ll regret escaping.”
Not knowing what was to come, Garan thought this way.

Irene changed clothes to prepare for the welcome banquet.
She considered wearing red again but decided against it. For today, she chose to match her attire with her escort.
All she had were clothes suitable for a priestess, though.
She picked an appropriate outfit and, with Lani’s help, styled her hair. When she stepped out of the room, Guy was waiting for her.
“This is my first time escorting someone.”
Guy hesitated as he offered his arm, and Irene placed her hand on it.
“I’ve hardly ever been escorted myself, so it’s fine.”
“If neither of us knows, isn’t that a problem?”
Irene smiled gently at his words.
“If we don’t know, we can just do our best. Even if I wore my clothes inside out, they wouldn’t dare say anything to my face.”
Irene’s words were true. She was the saintess, after all; who would dare speak out of turn?
They might talk behind her back, but that was fine.
“Shall we go then?”
As Guy and Irene moved forward, Burt followed behind them. With Noah joining, a peculiar atmosphere formed.
Four people, three of whom bore the ominous symbol. She wondered what others would think if they saw this.
The welcome banquet was to be held in the largest hall of the palace.
Fortunately, the distance was not far, so they arrived at the hall entrance after a leisurely walk.
The servant at the entrance, well-trained, maintained his composure even upon seeing Irene.
However, when he saw her escort, his eyes widened. Although the escort seemed thinner, his face resembles someone familiar.
“H-How should I announce?”
The servant asked Guy with a bewildered expression.
“G-Guy Ellengtro Demian.”
Guy said his full name for the first time in a long while. The servant’s eyes grew even wider.
‘How much bigger can they get?’
He began to tremble, unsure whether to announce it or not.
“Announce it.”
Irene decided to help the servant make a choice. Upon her instruction, he closed his eyes tightly and then opened them, shouting.
“Presenting the one and only great and holy saintess and her partner, Guy Ellengtro Demian!”
He gasped for breath, filled with fear about what would happen next.
“It’s okay. Nothing will happen to you.”
Irene comforted the servant and then slowly advanced with Guy.
The servant was so flustered that he forgot to announce Burt’s name. As a result, Burt and Noah entered the hall quietly.
