It Seems Like The Infamous Trash Can is Right Here! - Chapter 22
I was watching nervously as he exposed it, wrapped tightly around his abdomen, was a blood stained bandage.
‘It’s still bleeding?’
If he’d sustained a wound to such a vital area, why hadn’t he sought immediate treatment? Leaving it like this was reckless beyond belief.
Unable to bear watching Lionel slowly unwind the bandages any longer, I surged forward.
“Let me do it.”
He hesitated briefly but eventually handed me the loose end of the bandage. With determination, I began unwinding it briskly, only to realize that my posture resembled something close to embracing his waist.
To make matters worse, my forehead ended up pressed against his firm, broad chest.
I swear by the gods, I had no impure intentions.
‘This texture… this resilience….’
But perhaps, just perhaps, a tiny sliver of such thoughts was beginning to surface.
‘No, stop it. This is entirely for the sake of the patient.’
I shook off any selfish inclinations and focused wholeheartedly on unwinding the bandages.
How many layers had he wrapped? No matter how much I unwrapped, the end seemed nowhere in sight.
Fortunately, Lionel remained silent throughout, simply pulling his shirt into his lap as he allowed me to continue.
At last, the wound came into view, and I dropped the fully unraveled bandages onto the floor.
Another stab wound.
‘Doesn’t seem like his organs were damaged….’
If they had been, not even someone as resilient as him could have moved around so normally.
After carefully examining the injury, I looked up and spoke.
“I’ll… treat it… right away…?”
I faltered mid-sentence because Lionel’s face, as I gazed upward, was flushed crimson as though he had a fever.
He had one hand covering his mouth and was breathing shallowly through it, a sight that sent my imagination spiraling into strange directions.
Caught off guard, I found myself staring at his face, my own growing just as red.
It felt like I’d done something terribly improper to him.
‘This won’t do.’
I closed my eyes tightly for a moment before reopening them and focusing on the wound. Gently, I brought my hands closer to the injury.
Manifestation of divinity: Type – Healing.
Since I had already used my power on him once, the process was easier the second time.
Intensity of manifestation: Advanced. Target: Lionel Luanax.
Again, I invoked the highest level of divine power to encompass his wound completely.
‘Just in case his internal organs were damaged after all.’
I could feel the divine energy flowing steadily into him.
‘If he’s going to get injured this often, perhaps I should’ve designated Lionel as my contract subject instead of Vivian.’
The thought made me pity him. Just how rigorous and harsh was his training for him to sustain such severe injuries?
This time, I had no intention of glimpsing his memories of the moment he got hurt. I was about to lift my hand when it happened.
Without any warning, a vision unfolded before my eyes.
‘What is this? Another change in my abilities?’
Stunned by this unprecedented occurrence, I barely had time to process before the vision demanded my full attention.
The scene diverged starkly from the”training injury” Lionel had described.
Lionel exited Vivian’s room, where his attendant, Cale, awaited him.
“Where’s the priestess?”
“She’s in the drawing room.”
Lionel nodded and started toward the upper floor but abruptly stopped and turned to Cale.
“Bring me some basic medical tools.”
“What? Are you injured, sir?”
But Lionel didn’t answer. Instead, he entered a nearby room, leaving Cale behind.
Inside, he removed his jacket, waistcoat, and shirt, tossing them onto the floor. Then, pressing a specific part of his belt, he drew a short, slender blade about a hand’s length long.
He began prodding his abdomen with his fingers as if searching for the right spot before plunging the blade in with precision.
“This should make it appropriate to ask her for help.”
“S-Sir!”
Cale, who had just entered with the requested medical tools, cried out in horror and rushed toward him. That was the last thing I saw before the vision abruptly ended.
I blinked in confusion.
‘What… was that?’
