Keep a Secret - Chapter 2
“I’m sorry, I won’t do it again…”
What could be the reason behind Faye being able to see people’s names?
She never had a desire to be special compared to others, and her only ambition was to lose a bit of weight and perfectly pull off the latest dress.
If it were someone else, it’s hard to say how they would have dealt with the same situation. However, Faye was a simple-minded individual. She gradually became accustomed to the phenomenon. Since it was merely seeing characters, and not something creepy like bugs or vengeful ghosts, living while ignoring it wasn’t too difficult.
Moreover, there were some good aspects, albeit minor.
“Isn’t it Miss Luvanessel from the Luvanessel family? We met at the shipboard party, didn’t we?”
“Oh, yes. So, um…”
Name: Kelam Miliark
“…Miliark, hello.”
“Haha, you remember. Please call me Kelam.”
Faye shamelessly flashed a smile. To her, the characters above people’s heads were like cheat sheets, explicitly revealing names for someone who was not good at remembering them.
‘Well, it’s useful. Convenient!’
Suddenly, Faye, who had become accustomed to this absurd situation, went beyond acceptance and started to enjoy the reality.
Of course, it didn’t mean she wanted to get involved in awkward situations.
“Haha, Faye. Give it a try. Just for fun, don’t feel pressured. If you guess the name, this diamond is yours!”
‘What should I do? What should I do? How do I handle this?’
Faye, with a perplexed look in her innocent eyes, stared at someone’s ‘name.’ She knew the answer. But could she really say it out loud?
All around, gazes were fixed on her. Among those gazes were the owner of the name. Faye couldn’t muster the courage to turn around.
Suddenly, the unconventional first impression of the mysterious man came to her mind. Now, in his presence, it felt dark and awe-inspiring.
“Well, Faye…!”
Faye tightly shut her eyes. And the next moment, she…

The day had finally arrived, the long-awaited palace banquet.
Faye was ecstatic from the afternoon. All the efforts, especially those from Miss Wetzel’s side, had paid off—she had successfully achieved her weight loss goal!
Being able to wear the coveted Madam Minus’s dress, how could she not be excited? Today, she deemed herself quite beautiful, even slightly angelic.
Faye confidently lifted her chin, entered the palace, and displayed her elegant figure.
“Oh my, Faye! Is it really you? You look so beautiful!”
“Indeed, it’s Madam Minus’s dress. It suits you well, Faye.”
Her friends didn’t spare any compliments for Faye’s bold transformation. Princess Rosella, who admired Faye—although they were of the same age, people often said the princess adored Faye—smiled as if she would die from cuteness upon seeing her.
The feeling of soaring reached its peak when the Count, her secret crush, requested a dance from her.
Name: Ahin Listro
“Today’s Faye is dazzlingly beautiful. If it’s alright, would you like to dance the first da…?”
“Yes! Of course!”
“…”
If her mother had seen it, she would have surely pinched her side, reminding her that a lady doesn’t interrupt others.
The momentarily flustered Count quickly composed himself, spreading a charming smile as he extended his hand.
Their fingers entwined. Ohhh. Inside, Faye screamed silently with excitement. Her heart pounded so loudly that it felt like her palpitations would transmit through her trembling skin to the Count.
The orchestra’s melody flowed sweetly.
Count Listro was adept at dancing. Faye, a lady well-versed in everything from classical to modern social dances, practiced diligently under her mother’s supervision. However, compared to the Count who had more agile and graceful movements than the court dancer, she couldn’t quite match up.
His strength was truly remarkable. He effortlessly lifted Faye, adorned in her dress and jewelry, with ease. He smoothly executed moves like lifting her with just one arm while supporting her waist with the other!
Blushing, Faye felt like the Count had become even more appealing in that moment.
Just like this… it would be wonderful if time could stand still…
But Faye’s wish was not granted. As the second dance concluded, the 1st Prince sent a signal, and Count Listro was escorted away.
Faye, grappling with a heart that felt like it would tear apart, braced herself to welcome her next dance partner.
“Enjoying yourself? Really? Your lips are wide open, and I thought you might even drool. You’re just wandering around without any sense of reason as long as the Duchess isn’t around, huh?”
On took the initiative to pick a fight. Even the hand leading her had a firm grip. Faye pursed her lips and playfully smacked On’s back of the hand.
“You’re cross again. Well, I won’t dance with you.”
“Where’s your conscience? Who took the time out of their busy schedule to volunteer for your dance practice? But when it comes to the actual stage, you act all high and mighty?”
Listening to it, it was annoyingly accurate. After all, On had sincerely helped her with dance practice. Sensing Faye’s hesitation, On, noticing it, smoothly wrapped his arm around Faye’s waist, and they stepped onto the dance floor.
The music changed.
In reality, On could be considered the perfect partner for Faye. Leveraging their long-practiced coordination, he guided Faye more smoothly than anyone else in the ballroom. He knew well how to make her look graceful while moving comfortably.
Even the initially awkward Faye couldn’t help but be drawn into the dance with On.
