Killing the Possessor - Chapter 36
I turned my gaze to the prince who was still struggling. Well, to be precise, his lower half.
“Hey, you can still breathe, right?”
“Ha, Camil…”
Though I could hear his voice, I could only see his butt. I was too stunned by the situation to even laugh.
I mean, he’s the male lead. Shouldn’t he at least maintain a bit of dignity?
“Just wait a little longer. I’ll get you out…”
“Even if the paladins come, they’ll need to break the wall to get us out, right? There must be others like us who have suffered, but will this building stay intact then?”
I cut off the unnecessary words and said what I needed to say. What good is it to talk about saving someone when you’re stuck in a wall and all that’s visible is your butt?
Though he didn’t have the ability to fight evil spirits, it seemed like the prince did work out, at least based on the firmness of his butt.
No, I shouldn’t be thinking like this… but all I can see is his butt!
“If we kill the evil spirit, everything will go back to normal. Don’t worry too much.”
“Then that’s a relief.”
I didn’t have much faith in that, but even if everything collapsed, the entire building probably wouldn’t fall apart. I didn’t know about the evil spirit, but the male lead shouldn’t die either.
“Camil, this isn’t exactly how I imagined we’d meet again.”
The prince suddenly gave off an enigmatic aura. I could tell he was about to dive into some nostalgic, regretful talk.
“Whatever you say, my feelings won’t change. I really can go back to you, so won’t you trust me just this once?”
“……”
As expected, just as I thought.
The problem was, I had no idea why these two had broken up. Even Hongik Ingan didn’t have a clear answer. It was probably a secret only they knew.
The good news was, I didn’t have to worry too much about how to navigate this situation.
Because—
“You probably can’t see it, but all I see is your butt. Don’t you think it’s a bit awkward to have this kind of conversation while staring at it?”
“……”
I had a pretty decent shield. Namely, I was looking at his body—specifically a rather embarrassing part of it.
I highly doubted the prince would want to have such a serious conversation while in such an awkward position.
“I’ve got nothing to hide, Camil. I’ve already shown you everything.”
“……”
“You’ve seen everything, even when I got scolded by His Majesty at seven and had an accident in my pants.”
Good grief. They’d been that close since childhood? At this point, it was a miracle that they even became romantic partners. By now, they might as well be family.
“It seems you didn’t get it, but what I’m saying is, I don’t want to talk about it right now.”
“Well, when else would we talk if not now?”
“……”
“Is there any time you’re willing to listen to me, if not now?”
His words sounded desperately sincere, but from my perspective, all I could think was that he was being persistent.
If we talked more, he’d probably find out that I didn’t remember anything, and I had no idea how to handle that.
“Miss Camilli?”
Fortunately, a savior appeared. At the sudden voice of a man, I quickly turned my gaze toward the door.
“…Sir Ren?”
It was the investigator, the male lead I had been eagerly waiting for.
Dressed in white robes that suited him as well as his uniform, I briefly found myself staring, momentarily distracted. If there was any benefit to being in this awful world, it was certainly eye candy.
His hair, slightly longer than his chin, was neatly tied back, unlike when I first met him. I hadn’t realized it, but I liked guys with ponytails. The male lead, of course, looked good even with that stylish hair. His face seemed to glow, like there was a reflector shining on it.
Staring at him, I shook myself out of the daze. I couldn’t afford to give him any more positive feedback. He was too busy hunting down possessors.
Fortunately—or unfortunately—he wasn’t exactly being friendly with me either.
“If you had used magic, you would have avoided this situation.”
Leave it to the sharp investigator to ask difficult questions right off the bat. I was wondering what excuse I could come up with when the prince timely intervened.
“Who’s that? Camil, who’s here?”
