Killing the Possessor - Chapter 52
“<You won’t forget what I said earlier, will you?>”
The girl glanced at me and the boy I had just spoken to, then shyly turned around and started running off. Watching her flee, I couldn’t help but chuckle. I sighed deeply and brushed my hair back.
I thought my words would stay with her. After all, if she didn’t have a guilty conscience, she would have just left with the other bully instead of running away.
“<Hey.>”
The boy called out to me in a small voice. When I turned around, he smiled softly, narrowing his beautiful eyes.
“Thank you.”
His awkward Korean conveyed his sincerity. His shy face and gentle voice made me smile in return.
Just as I was about to smile back at the sweet child, a burst of bright light suddenly overwhelmed my vision.
[Congratulations! You have successfully saved and redeemed the evil spirit, ‘Tommy Abbott-Possessed by Jang Minsoo’! Though his soul will not remember you, he will undoubtedly be very grateful.]

Amid the blaring mechanical sounds that rang in my ears, I heard a familiar deep voice calling my name.
“Miss Camilli! Miss Camilli!”
Blinking my eyes weakly, I saw silver hair and a familiar figure behind it.
That person looks like the crown prince… What’s the crown prince doing here…?
“Miss Camilli, are you awake?”
Looking at the man from a distance, I then shifted my gaze to the person right in front of me. The flickering light from the lamp illuminated his face, which remained striking even in the darkness.
“…could wear anything.”
I mumbled to myself, recalling the story’s content. With looks like that, personal color wouldn’t matter much. Whether it’s red or blue, he’d make it look perfect.
But that was the last thought I could muster. The exhaustion hit me again, and my vision started to blur.
“Wait…”
“Miss Camilli!”
Before I could finish my sentence, I fainted.

Chapter 3 Conclusion. A Reunion You Don’t Know About
“As always, you never forget to visit, and I don’t know how to express my gratitude.”
As soon as he opened the door to the director’s office, Mother Torea greeted the man with those words. Ren responded lightly with a smile.
“It’s been almost ten years, don’t you find it tiresome to say that?”
“Haha, I suppose so. It’s a bit rude to say, but sometimes you feel like a son to me. The children also follow you like their own brother.”
“It’s an honor. I’m glad to have a place to call home too.”
The orphanage took in children from various backgrounds, but a common theme among many of them was that they had been abandoned by their guardians and ended up here.
As the heir of the Abyss family, Ren had enjoyed many privileges, yet ironically, he felt that he wasn’t much different from the children here.
The reason for his frequent volunteering weren’t due to some misplaced sense of superiority or altruism, but rather because he genuinely wanted to help the children who shared similar pains to his own.
“However, today there is another young lady visiting.”
“I’ll make sure she won’t stay long.”
Torea’s comment was purely informational, but Ren knew the underlying meaning. When news spread that he visited often, it wasn’t uncommon for young ladies of marriageable age to come with little interest in volunteering, often causing some rudeness.
But in the end, he wasn’t able to keep his promise. The young lady wasn’t someone he had expected.
“…Miss Camilli?”
Camilli Mute. A woman who piqued his interest in many ways.
In fact, just a few days ago, she had purified an evil spirit in the palace.
Whether she was aware of the incident or not would require investigation, but due to interference from Prince Wyner, her summoning had been delayed.
However, Ren wasn’t anxious. He believed it was only a matter of time.
He had never missed his prey, and his instincts had never been wrong.
And his intuition was telling him something.
Camilli Mute was hiding something far more special than the other possessors.
