Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Who's the Witch of Fate’s Great Call - Chapter 39
“I mean, I don’t dislike you as much as that creepy bear pelt.”
Vylon’s eyes widened. Even though she’d added some conditions, she’d still said she didn’t dislike him.
In that moment, it felt like his heart, which had sunk so low, was suddenly surging upward. Even his ‘buddy’, which had died during all the commotion, seemed to respond.
“Kalynia, do you like me now?”
“‘Not disliking’ and ‘liking’ are two different things.”
Kalynia frowned, drawing a line between the two.
Vylon knew they weren’t the same, but to him, her not disliking him was a massive leap forward.
“I know. But still, you don’t dislike me, right?”
Vylon stood up, tossing the bear pelt far away, and walked toward her.
Kalynia glanced at the space between his legs, noticing that the thing that had been completely ‘dead’ was now growing before her eyes.
“Does it happen that fast, rising from dead to alive?”
“I don’t know,” Vylon replied honestly, though he understood why she found it curious.
An e******n could come and go, affected by both physical and mental factors, and sometimes things fell flat or rose unexpectedly.
But for it to recover so quickly after dying down completely—that was a first for him as well.
“I’m not sure, but it seems that’s the case.”
All thanks to you.
Vylon’s lips curved into a soft smile as he looked at her. Kalynia thought for a moment, then climbed down from the table.
“This table’s legs are too weak. If we keep going, I’m worried it’ll collapse. Can’t we do it somewhere else?”
Her rejection of the table made Vylon’s gaze search the room for something else suitable. They had a makeshift bed, but its legs didn’t look sturdy either.
His eyes fell on the bear pelt he had tossed to the floor. Maybe if they laid it on the ground…
“I don’t want to see that bear pelt ever again.”
The moment he thought of it, she dismissed the idea.
“…I’ve got a good idea,” Vylon muttered, then lifted her into his arms.
He gently squeezed her petite hips, and Kalynia wrapped her arms around his neck, holding on tightly.
“Hnngh…!”
As he slowly entered her, Kalynia furrowed her brows slightly, feeling each gradual movement.
Vylon lowered her down carefully, slowly—almost like someone afraid of making another mistake.
Fortunately, even after he was fully inside her, nothing seemed wrong. All that remained was a sense of relief, along with Kalynia’s steady gaze as she leaned on his shoulder and looked at him.
The way she looked at him, unblinking, made him oddly nervous. He didn’t dare move, but Kalynia offered him a smile he couldn’t interpret.
That one smile eased his tension, dissolving the last remnants of his anxiety, like a burden finally lifting.
She was okay. It was safe to love her.
“Kalynia.”
Only then could Vylon smile again. He’d regained his strength, and he lifted her higher, thrusting up to meet her.
Each movement drove deeply inside, causing Kalynia’s breath to grow heavier. Was it the mood? Or the position? It felt like he was reaching deeper than ever before.
“So deep… ahh, so deep…”
Vylon watched her with a growing sense of hunger, savoring the pleasure on her face. He licked his lips and leaned down to capture her lips in a kiss.
As he moved his hips in small, steady motions, Kalynia’s legs wrapped tightly around him, drawing him even closer.
When he pulled back, she quickly leaned in, initiating a more passionate kiss, as if the first had barely been enough. Their mingling breaths filled the air, and Vylon opened his eyes slightly, gazing at her.
Kalynia noticed and opened her eyes as well. For some reason, making eye contact seemed to make her breath grow even shallower. She withdrew briefly to catch her breath, pressing her forehead against his.
As her rapid breathing brushed against him, Vylon let out a soft laugh.
Why are you laughing?
Her eyes seemed to ask, but he only replied with gentle kisses along her lips, slowly working his way down.
He started around her lips, then moved to her jaw, finally reaching her neck.
Kalynia tilted her head back, releasing quiet gasps.
“Ah… mmm…”
The gentle kisses soon turned into deeper marks as he suckled gently on her neck, his hands gripping her tightly as he continued to move.
Kalynia’s vision swam. She was sure she felt more than usual, but wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination.
As she clung to him to keep him inside her, she realized it wasn’t an illusion.
“Kalynia, ah…”
She wasn’t the only one feeling more. Vylon was reaching his limit, too, repeatedly calling her name with a voice thick with need.
“I love you, Kalynia.”
He came, and as he did, for the first time, she felt a sense of fullness she hadn’t experienced before, despite all the times they’d become one.
