Mr. Kadan in the Deep Forest - Chapter 34
“Ah, hello, Kadan. I have something to deliver.”
“Something?”
“Yes, the woman with the strange tattoo asked me to bring this…”
“Luna?”
“Yes, Luna, that woman.”
As Daisy mentioned Luna’s name, she extended her hand toward Kadan. On her palm was the silver ring Luna had been wearing. Kadan’s face twisted in anger, and snatched the ring from her.
“Where did you get this?”
Luna had always treated even small items with great care. She never took the ring off, not even when washing her hands. So how did this woman, Daisy, end up with it?
“Lu, Luna left it with me when she left. She said she didn’t need it anymore…”
“You’re lying!”
Bang! Kadan slammed his fist into the cabin door furiously. The sturdy wooden door cracked and tilted to the side. Daisy trembled in surprise and stumbled backward.
“I-I’m telling the truth! She ran off with a man from the village!”
“A man?”
“Yes, Ruth. He’s the notorious troublemaker in our village, and it seems Luna took a liking to him… Wait, wait, Kadan!”
As Kadan, gritting his teeth, prepared to rush to the village, Daisy stopped him.
“If you go to the village now, you won’t catch them in the act. I know where they’ve gone. Follow me.”
Daisy led Kadan to a small hill, a spot from which the village could be seen in its entirety. It was sufficiently far from the village. She pointed to a barn on the outskirts of the village.
“They’ll probably come out of that barn. What they’ve been doing in a secret place like that, I don’t know.”
What they’ve been doing. The words made Kadan’s face turn pale. Was Luna in danger? Had Ruth done something horrible to her? As Kadan moved to rush toward the barn, Daisy grabbed him.
“Look over there!”
Just as she said, the barn door opened, and Ruth cautiously stepped out, looking around. Behind him was Luna. She was following him willingly, so it didn’t look like she was being threatened or forced.
Relieved, Kadan ran a hand through his hair.
Ruth held Luna’s hand tightly, guiding her along the forest path out of the village. Their figures disappeared among the tall trees.
Kadan watched them the entire time without blinking once.
Relief was quickly replaced by jealousy and rage.
Why was Luna with Ruth? This had never happened before. There were many suspicious things, but he wasn’t imagining it. The ring in his hand was undoubtedly Luna’s.
Kadan clenched his fist tightly, trembling with rage. The fact that she had cast aside their token and was now holding another man’s hand felt like a nail driven into his heart.
The dark fury and bright red jealousy swirled inside him, confusing his thoughts. He was incapable of making a rational decision.
“Am I right, Kadan? That Luna woman, she’s quite deceitful. She pretends to only look at you, but behind your back, she meets other men.”
Even with Daisy’s reprimanding, Kadan didn’t say a word.
“Kadan?”
Daisy looked at him for any sign of reaction with anxiety. His face was twisted, and his eyes were teary. His anger flared, but the image of a man unable to forget his lover was strangely captivating, like a painting.
‘He looks amazing even when he’s angry. I wonder what it would feel like to be loved by a man like that and to be held by him.’
Daisy clasped her hands tightly. She wanted to share her warmth and heal his wounded heart. She wanted to fill the empty space left by Luna, right now.
‘If I had known, I would have become the sacrifice instead!’
If it had been her, not Luna, as the forest’s sacrifice, she would have met him first. She would have been the one wrapped in his strong arms, the one screaming in ecstasy. She would have been the one pinned against the table and fucked by Kadan.
Daisy clenched her lower abdomen, feeling a dull heat rise, and squeezed her thighs together. The passionate expression she had seen on Kadan’s face that day through the window, his body perfectly sculpted with muscles, his powerful waist—she could almost see it all in her mind.
Lost in her fantasies, Daisy bit her nails. When she came back to reality, Kadan was already walking away toward the cabin.
“Kadan!”
Daisy called out, but Kadan didn’t stop. She hurried after him. She was determined that no one else but her could comfort him.
“Come with me! I can ease your sorrow, Kadan…”
“Get lost if you don’t want to die.”
Kadan cut her off harshly. The murderous intent radiating from him made Daisy flinch. Goosebumps ran up her skin. She knew that if she kept following him, as he had warned, she would meet a gruesome end. She had no choice but to stop in her tracks.
And so, Kadan walked alone back to the cabin. After that day, Kadan never visited the village again.

Luna struggled as she made her way through the narrow underground tunnel. The tunnel led to a barn on the outskirts of the village. Ruth peeked outside first, checking the surroundings, before stepping out.
“Don’t just stand there, hurry up!”
Ruth grabbed Luna’s hand and began running swiftly. If they followed the path behind the village and went north, they would reach Kadan’s cabin soon.
