Mr. Kadan in the Deep Forest - Chapter 6
The man’s flawless body was as sacred as a statue, yet his dark skin and conspicuously large member gave off an obscene aura.
‘Can a person really be that big down there?’
Luna was shocked when she glanced between his legs. Most men she had seen were of a size that could be held with one hand, but his was so long that even two hands might not suffice.
‘It would be a struggle just to fit it in my mouth.’
When she had asked him to stay, Luna had prepared herself for the worst. She assumed all men wanted the same thing and had resigned herself to offering her body, which would rot away after death anyway.
Could something that big even fit inside her? Luna repeatedly opened and closed her mouth, trying to relax her jaw muscles.
But the man seemed indifferent to her gaze, making no effort to cover his private area. He pulled a long piece of cloth from the basket and wrapped it around his waist like a skirt. Noticing Luna nervously moving her mouth, he tilted his head and pointed to the bed.
“Bed.”
“Huh? Ah… yes.”
Was he telling her to get ready? Did he mean to spend the night together? Luna glanced between the bed and the man before hesitantly sitting on the edge of the bed.
‘Will he kiss me first? Or go straight for it?’
Luna closed her eyes tightly and waited. But time passed, and the man didn’t approach.
Instead, she heard the sound of him sitting on the floor, followed by steady breathing. Luna peeked through half-closed eyes. The man lay flat on the bare floor, sleeping soundly without even a blanket.
‘Is he really just sleeping? Not doing anything?’
Luna blinked rapidly. She bit her lip in embarrassment after preparing herself so thoroughly.
Despite her gaze, the man lay still as a stone. The flickering red light from the hearth danced over his muscular frame and casted shadows that made his body look even more beastly and fierce than it had during the day.
‘I’m the guest, so I should be the one sleeping on the floor.’
She thought about speaking up, but her lips wouldn’t open, perhaps from nervousness. After watching him for a while and confirming he was asleep, Luna quietly lay down on the bed. She resolved to take the floor tomorrow and pulled the fur blanket up to her chin.
‘Is it okay to have such a comfortable day?’
Could she really just receive without giving anything in return? Luna closed her eyes, wondering how she could repay the man’s kindness.
She thought the unreturned favor would weigh on her like a debt, but strangely, she felt at ease, her eyelids growing heavier by the moment. Unlike someone burdened by guilt, Luna drifted into a deep sleep.
* * *
The clatter of wooden dishes woke Luna, and she saw the man’s back as he stood up first. Unlike last night, he was now dressed in a neat shirt and somewhat dirty pants.
I’m such a fool. Here she was already in his debt, and now she had overslept. Luna quickly sat up and greeted him.
“Good morning.”
After a long night of restful sleep, her body felt refreshed. Luna stretched, then glanced at the bandages wrapped around her injured limbs. The healing seemed to be progressing surprisingly fast, likely due to the herbs used.
Could the deep sleep she had been in be related to these herbs as well? After checking her limbs, she tried to get out of bed.
“Stay there.”
The man walked over with a bowl of freshly made stew. When he handed her the bowl, Luna awkwardly took it and sat back on the bed.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve woken up earlier.”
“I’ll cook. You rest. You’re hurt.”
His short, straightforward words carried warmth, and Luna, feeling grateful, bowed her head to thank him. Behind him on the table were items wrapped in yellow paper—meats, ham, flour, and fabric.
‘Did he go to the nearby village to shop? It must be a long way. And to gather all this food would have cost quite a bit of money.’
The stew was filled with fresh vegetables and meat. Luna looked at the man with concern, wondering if he had gone out of his way because of her. Sitting down at the small table to eat, the man seemed to read her thoughts and gestured toward the window.
“Beast hunting. Get paid. A lot.”
“You went hunting beasts yesterday?”
“Yeah.”
He rummaged through his pants pocket and pulled out a small stone before tossing it to Luna. She caught it mid-air and examined it closely. The red, transparent stone sparkled like emerald.
“Wow, it’s beautiful. Is this a gem?”
“No. Beast’s eye.”
“Ah!”
Without thinking, Luna threw the stone away, startled. The man caught the flying eyeball mid-air and grinned, grinning at her as she stared at him in shock.
Huh? Did he just… Luna tried to calm herself as she stared at the man. His mouth, peeking through his hair, was definitely curved into a smile.
‘He looks so neat with just that small glimpse of his face.’
If he tidied up his messy hair, he would surely look more presentable and comfortable to live with.
Luna wanted to tidy up his hair for him.
