My Perfect Omega - Chapter 10
He wasn’t the type to be overly confident in his abilities, but he wasn’t modest either. Believing no one could vanish faster than him, he swiftly scanned the surroundings.
Despite looking quite far, he couldn’t spot anyone carrying a violin case.
Not wanting to end up empty-handed again, Lucas hurried back near the bar to wait.
In the meantime, having confirmed that the arguing couple had disappeared, he scanned the surroundings and detected a very faint presence from a certain location.
The barely perceptible presence of one person was so cautious that he nearly missed it.
Could it be the violinist from the bar?
With a faint hope rising, he couldn’t just wait idly. After all, he could feel the presence from a distance if it emerged.
“……I should check it out.”
The place he followed the fluttering presence to was a complex alleyway.
It seemed no one had passed through for a while, and someone was sitting in the darkness inside the alley, almost blending into the darkness with a robe on. It indeed was a person.
He approached silently, making sure his footsteps made no sound, which would have been hard for any ordinary person to detect.
Yet, seeing the startled reaction, Lucas couldn’t help but express his admiration.
“By any chance, are you the violinist who played at the bar earlier?”
“……”
Looking at the person who didn’t respond as if startled, Lucas politely tried again.
“I’ve been looking for you for quite some time. I liked your performance.”
Confused by his direct approach, Leila didn’t know how to respond.
She had never had a conversation with a stranger, nor could she be sure that this person wasn’t associated with Timo.
Contemplating her next move, she realized escaping and evading him wasn’t an option and slowly began to speak.
“……Who are you?”
Hearing her voice, Lucas halted his approach, surprised.
He had assumed the musician was male, not because only men can play the violin, but because the performance was so rich in emotion yet occasionally showcased tremendous technical skill that required considerable finger strength.
Lucas acknowledged his bias and introduced himself.
“I am Lucas von Bavenberg. I would like to formally offer my sponsorship.”
Surprised by his response, Leila inadvertently turned her head slightly towards him, despite knowing she couldn’t see.
Having been able to see until fifteen years ago, she reflexively responded to his presence.
“……Why do you want to sponsor me?”
Hearing his name, she couldn’t not know who he was.
Even she, who spent most of her time in the estate, knew of him as he was a man of great renown.
“Do I need a reason? I deeply appreciate unique art. I saw your personality in your melodies. That’s why I wish for you to live comfortably and let your talent bloom.”
Leila realized he had good intentions in approaching her.
However, there was no guarantee his feelings wouldn’t change once he learned of her identity.
In contrast, she was also a well-known figure in the Camorr Empire, for entirely different reasons. She was known as the possessor of divine beauty and the cursed omega abandoned by God.
In the Camorr Empire, only two people were associated with the term ‘divine’.
Biting her lip, Leila was about to refuse.
“……Thank you for your offer, but I am quite content as is.”
His refusal left Lucas puzzled. Convinced she didn’t fully understand who he was, he stepped closer and insisted.
“You seem not to know exactly who I am. I urge you not to see me as some middling noble. You see, I am……”
Just as he was about to reveal his status as a duke, sudden uproarious laughter interrupted.
“Haha! What’s this stench, Anna?”
Timo’s voice, full of glee, caused Leila to involuntarily hold her breath.
Lucas instantly noticed the subtle change.
