My Perfect Omega - Chapter 106
The guild master hesitated, swallowing hard under Lucas’s fierce gaze, and quickly detailed his report.
“No, there was a report about two women fighting in an empty house. One of my subordinates listened closely, thinking it might be a love affair among nobles, but it seemed more like a mother and daughter fighting. The fight was surprisingly intense, even involving physical violence. They were just listening at first, but then it went silent. Usually, this doesn’t end well.”
The guild master continued, thinking he had gathered this information just in case and never expected it to be of immediate use. As Lucas appeared to focus, the guild master’s storytelling instincts kicked in, and he spoke fluently.
“Sure enough, about an hour later, two men came out carrying a large sack. They were mercenaries living around here. It was odd that mercenaries were involved in a mother-daughter fight, but nothing else was found, so they withdrew.”
Lucas listened carefully and then asked about the location where the mercenaries had disappeared and where the fight had occurred. He immediately headed there.

“It just looks like an empty house, Your Grace,” Max said quietly as Lucas inspected the interior.
“Shine some light,” Lucas ordered.
“Yes, sir!”
Several torches illuminated the interior, revealing bloodstains and traces of an unknown liquid on the floor, along with broken tables and deep gouges in the wooden floor.
Lucas stopped at one spot, noticing scratch marks on the floor, indicating a fierce struggle. Several strands of hair were caught in the gaps of the wooden floor.
“…Black hair.”
Lucas carefully picked up the clump of hair, his eyes blazing. How many people in the capital had black hair? And this, right after Leila disappeared.
Grinding his teeth hard, he stretched the hair to roughly estimate if it matched Leila’s hair length.
“Send a squad to the east gate immediately. Search every path leading from there.”
“Yes, Your Grace!”
Lucas’s heart pounded with increasing anxiety. He desperately hoped it wasn’t true as he rode quickly toward the eastern gate. There were two gates in the east, each leading in completely different directions.
“Leila…”
Was she really planning to leave him through death?
For the first time in his life, Lucas, who had always gotten what he wanted, felt utterly powerless. All he could do was frantically chase the clues his omega had left behind, hoping for a glimmer of hope at the end of the trail.

“Can’t we go a little further, Your Lordship?”
Anna pleaded anxiously with Jonas, but he remained firm. He too was worried about his niece, but he was adamant about not traveling after sunset.
Despite being accompanied by trained knights, they had not brought many due to their hasty departure. If Anna hadn’t insisted on rushing to see Leila because of her nightmare, they would have made more thorough preparations before setting off.
“We camp here tonight. No matter how urgent, we do not travel recklessly at night.”
“Then let me go alone…”
“Absolutely not,” Jonas said firmly.
Anna felt frustrated. Seeing the city gates nearby, she couldn’t believe they had to camp out in such close proximity. She climbed a hill behind the campsite, which connected to a clearing and the foot of a low mountain.
Panting heavily as she climbed, Anna eventually sat under a large tree to catch her breath. Not far away, she heard voices. Unaware of her presence, she instinctively hid, thinking they might be bandits.
As two burly men passed by, she peeked out from behind the tree. They were carrying a large sack and a small torch. As she looked at the sack, she noticed black hair tangled in the rope binding it.
Recognizing the hair color, Anna instinctively dashed toward them. She was certain that the person inside the sack was her lady.
