My Perfect Omega - Chapter 108
Jonas felt a surge of anger rise in his throat as he watched Anna’s body collapse, trying to protect something. He saw black hair sticking out from the gap in the sack, hair identical to his own.
“Excuse me for a moment,” said the captain of the Keller Count’s knights, carefully lifting Anna.
Jonas then cautiously opened the sack. He cut through the tightly bound strings with his sword and let out a sigh upon seeing the face that closely resembled his sister.
Leila’s face was swollen and drenched in sweat, and her labored breathing made it clear she was in a critical condition. Jonas hurriedly removed the sack and held Leila in his arms. Her black hair tumbled over his arm.
“Leila…”
“Ugh…”
“Try to stay with us.”
“My lady! It’s me, Anna! My lady!”
Anna, who was being held by the knight captain, struggled and cried out upon seeing Leila. Jonas gently touched her swollen cheek but couldn’t do much more due to her injuries. He exhaled a suppressed breath and tried to lift Leila.
At that moment, Jonas sensed a formidable presence approaching with murderous intent. He quickly embraced Leila and stepped back.
BOOM!
The spot where he had been standing caved in, and several nearby trees fell with a loud crash. Amidst the storm of dust, a pair of glowing purple eyes appeared.
Two knights who tried to block the sharp sword strikes were pushed back and fell. Without uttering a word, the attacker relentlessly went after Jonas.
Realizing his opponent’s extraordinary skill, Jonas handed Leila to a nearby knight and prepared to engage. But the opponent was faster and didn’t wait.
With incredible speed, the attacker kicked the knight holding Leila in the abdomen and snatched her away. Jonas blocked the attacker’s path and aimed his sword at the legs, but the opponent swiftly dodged.
The intense battle continued until Anna’s bewildered voice cut through the tension.
“Your Grace! Duke!”
Jonas then realized that the one attacking him wasn’t one of the mercenaries. It was too dark to see clearly before, but now he noticed the attire denoting a noble.
“Your Grace!”
Max, who had followed Lucas, drew his sword to assess the situation while the knights took defensive stances. Anna limped towards Leila, ignoring the sharp standoff.
All eyes followed Anna, knowing where she was heading.
“Hiic, my lady…”
Anna, desperately approaching, held Leila’s cheeks and cried. Lucas, holding Leila, recognized her disheveled state and felt his heart race wildly.
He had followed a faint trace of Leila’s pheromones from the eastern gate to the southern path, and his instincts were right. As he approached, he saw an alpha holding his omega.
The moment he confirmed it, his body moved instinctively to protect his omega.
Lucas, who had been silent, finally spoke in a rough voice due to not having spoken during the pursuit.
“Who is that man?”
Anna, wiping her tears, stuttered an introduction.
“He, he’s the lady’s… uncle…”
Her pronunciation was distorted by tears and snot, but Lucas understood. He glanced at the headless body and recalled the information about the mercenaries.
After assessing the situation, Lucas tightened his hold on Leila and coldly commanded Anna.
“Step back. I will take Leila.”
Though he felt relief at finding her, it was fleeting. He could feel her body burning with fever. As he prepared to move, Jonas blocked his way.
